The adjourned enquiry to consider a charge against Driver J Abernethy (HA'PENNY) under Rule 869(2) and the Whip & Rein Regulations, was reconvened at tonight's meeting. Mr Abernethy admitted the breach of using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.

Race 1   DUNSTAN SPEEDFEED SUMMER SERIES MOBILE PACE
CYREN SHARD - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
TOMALOU - back from position throughout the score up . Driver N Chilcott was issued a warning. Checked and paced roughly for several strides near the 1800m.
THE MIGHTY SULLY - Driver M White admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he shifted his gelding inwards near the 1800m when not sufficiently clear which resulted in an inside runner being checked and pacing roughly. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr White's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on the 22 March up to and including 4 April 2024 (3 days).
HAMPTON - lay inwards throughout.
The track was downgraded to slushy following this event.
Race 2   DUNSTAN SPEEDFEED SUMMER SERIES HANDICAP TROT
TAYLAD TO USE - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
ROYAL ACTION - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners. Weakened from the 600m.
LORD POPINJAY - stood on the mark and was slow to begin after the 20m barrier failed to clear due to the gelding having shifted forward and breasted the tape just prior to release. Authorisation of placings was withheld until Stewards viewed the replays of the start and were satisfied that this runner's chances had not been materially prejudiced in this incident. Junior Driver M Ranger, assisted by M White, was shown the replay and spoken to advisedly for allowing her runner to breast the barrier.

DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER - raced four wide from the 500m.
Race 4   BORDER FENCING SERVICES MOBILE PACE
SHESGOTTHEMOVES - unable to maintain its position late in the score up and was back at dispatch. Paced roughly early stages losing ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners. Lay in and contacted track markers near the 900m.
XCITE ME - raced keenly middle stages. Trainer/Driver S Wigg reported that the mare cast a front shoe during the running.
ALWAYS B YOU - held up rounding the final turn.
FREEDOM DASH - raced wide without cover before crossing to the parked position near the 1400m. Weakened in the run home.
CHANGE TACT - back from position throughout the score up despite the efforts of Driver D Butcher. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners. Weakened in the run home.
LENNY LINCOLN - weakened in the run home.
BILLY THE KID - paced roughly and broke approaching the 100m losing ground.
FRISCO BAY - raced wide with cover until crossing to the parked position near the 1100m.
Race 5   THE GREEN FAMILY JOHN DEVLIN MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT
CON GRAZIA LOVE - shifted up the track leaving the final turn when Driver M McKendry was activating the deafeners, hampering a trailing runner but was immediately corrected.
AMERICAN MUSCLE - broke approaching the first turn losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
JASINOVA - broke shortly after the start before settling then broke again shortly after losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
ALL CASHED UP(AUS) - hampered briefly leaving the final turn when having to shift wider to clear the sulky of CON GRAZIA LOVE.
Race 6   CADUCEUS CLUB 3YO FILLIES LADYSHIP STAKES MOBILE PACE
AKATEA - placed in restricted room and raced over a track marker entering the first turn. Raced over several other track markers when again placed in restricted room rounding the first turn. Checked near the 1500m by a breaking runner. Weakened from the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
ALL YOU NEED IS ME - hung in entering and then rounding the first turn forcing an inside runner to race over track markers on several occasions despite the efforts of Driver C Dalgety. Broke and stumbled near the 1500m checking trailing runners but quickly recovered. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners. Connections advised that ALL YOU NEED IS ME cast the off fore shoe in this incident.
KISS - raced wide early before securing a position in the running line near the 1600m. Hampered near the 1500m. Weakened final turn.
COASTAL BABE - checked near the 1500m by a breaking runner.
RUBY ROE - hampered near the 1500m.
DUCHESS MEGXIT - hampered near the 1500m.
MINJEE - hampered near the 1500m. Weakened final turn.
TREACHEROUS BABY - hampered near the 1500m.
Race 7   GARRARDS SIRES STAKES 3YO COLTS & GELDINGS HEAT 1 MOB PACE
CHASE A DREAM - when questioned regarding the performance Driver M Purdon advised that he was disappointed with the colt's effort and will be having blood taken in the coming days. Stewards will follow up regarding the results.
ROCK BAND - broke entering first turn losing ground. A final warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. Over-raced middle stages.
JEREMIAH - Driver S Phelan will be spoken to in the coming days regarding his apparent lack of vigour over the concluding stages.
TWISTA - broke leaving the final turn losing ground and was not persevered with.
Race 8   GRAND PARK HANDICAP PACE
D J ROCK - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Weakened final turn.
BROOKIES JAFFA - broke briefly at the start losing ground. Weakened late in the run home.
Race 9   WIN A "PASCOES DIAMOND RING" AT ALEX PARK ON MAR 22 HCP TROT
CHELSEA HOTEL - weakened final turn.
BERTHA'S PRIDE - slow early.
DRAGONSTONE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Trotted roughly near the 1500m.
INASINGLEMOMENT - broke at the start losing ground.
KEEP IT KLASSY - raced wider on the track briefly near the 1500m after HILLBILLY BLUES shifted ground outwards. It was established that Driver T Herlihy (HILLBILLY BLUES) had commenced his outward movement prior to KEEP IT KLASSY reaching his sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.
