Race 1   THANK YOU CATHERINE MACDONALD HANDICAP TROT
HENRIK LUNDQVIST - fractious prior to the start. Over-raced through the middle stages when leading. Lay in rounding the final turn contacting several track markers near the 300m. Trainer/Driver J Abernethy advised that he would be making a corrective gear change for the second day.
PLAY FOOTSIE - lay in rounding the bends.
KISS MY PIXEL - connections reported the mare will be racing in season. Driver G Martin was warned for using his whip in a lifting motion free of the rein in the run home.
MR MONTY - broke at the start but soon settled before breaking again shortly after losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
Race 2   HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLAN BROWN HANDICAP TROT
LOVE IS EVERYWHERE - broke at the start losing its chance.
SANS AU REVOIR - weakened from the 500m. When questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver R Downey advised that the mid-race effort to lead before being taken on may have taken its toll in what was the mare's first race at the track. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality.
PRINCE ENVY - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again passing the 2100m losing further ground. Lay in rounding the bends. Weakened from near the 950m. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality.
SWEET OLIVIA - trotted roughly before breaking near the 650m losing ground. Driver B Orange advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to the mare trotting roughly when not in contention for a better finishing position.
SLAINTE - trotted roughly near the 150m and then again late in the run home.
Race 3   CONGRATULATIONS MARTIN WRIGLEY MOBILE PACE
MISS WOODVILLE - broke entering the first turn losing ground before settling at the rear. Placed on the Unruly for future mobiles.
MAGIE DO - fractious and broke early in the score up however was in position at the candy pole. Paced roughly near the 1600m.
FREDASTAIRE - over-raced through the middle stages when being restrained to take cover.
CARRERA SUNSHINE - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 1.45pm.
CAROLINA MOON - taken wider on the track to avoid lighting pole shadows near the 850m.
BLAZE MAGUIRE - weakened final bend.
Race 4   PARTNERS NIGHT THURSDAY MOBILE PACE
HA'PENNY - raced erratically at various stages. Held up early final turn.
CRACKER ROCK - lay out under pressure and paced roughly near the 50m.
APPLE OF MY EYE - raced keenly in the score up.
SHIRLEY BASSEY - raced keenly when being restrained to the rear early.
Race 5   SOUTH RANGITIKEI VET SERVICES MOBILE PACE
WHISKEY ON THE ROCKS - commenced to weaken from the 400m. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality.
BET ON STEPH - unable to maintain its position three back on the marker line near the 1000m which allowed WHISKEY ON THE ROCKS to shift down and fill that position. Weakened final turn. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality.
DOCTOR TIM - when questioned regarding the performance Driver W House advised that the early effort to hold the back of the leader NO ADDED SUGAR may have taken its toll as the gelding had shown previously that he performed best when not having to work early.
Race 6   POWER FARMING MOBILE PACE
AMELIA ROSE - when questioned regarding the performance Driver W House could offer no explanation for the disappointing run.
PETER FORSBERG - over-raced through the middle stages.
VOODOO PRINCE - broke near the 1000m losing its chance and was retired from the event. Found to have sustained a fractured off-hind fetlock with the gelding being humanely euthanised by the on-course Veterinarian.
RORY MCILROY - had some difficulty obtaining clear running early in the home straight.
ONETANGI GIRL - broke early in the score up and then pulled hard prior to dispatch. Continued to over-race through the early and middle stages.
Race 7   C A PENNY F & M RACE 28 MARCH $18,000 MOBILE PACE
VICTOR BRAVO - lay out placing SEMBA in restricted room late in the run home.
COMMANDER LINCOLN - raced keenly in the score up. Paced roughly entering the first turn.
SEMBA - placed in restricted room late in the run home.
COTE D'AZUR - lay in late in the score up. Raced wide through the early stages. Weakened final turn.
BLUE CHIP LOU - had to be steadied near the 1100m. Raced greenly at various stages.

RUN MASON RUN - unsuccessfully contested the early lead before being restrained to the rear entering the back straight on the first occasion.
WARLOCH - raced three wide from the 550m.
