Race 10 - SOUTHLAND HARNESS AWARDS 2ND MARCH MOBILE PACE
Stewards spoke with driver R Austin (JOANIE MAGIC) regarding the manner he shifted ground near the 1400m. After speaking with Mr Austin and viewing the replays it was established that JOANIE MAGIC was over-racing for a distance from the 1800m to the 1400m where Mr Austin elected to shift wider on the track for safety reasons. Once shifted wider the mare continued to over-race and proved difficult to control for Mr Austin who then made the decision to improve forward three wide. Mr Austin further advised he would be making gear changes as he had omitted to put the blinds on the mare for this race. Notwithstanding this a warning was placed on the racing record of JOANIE MAGIC.
