Trainer J Gray advised Stewards on 4 March that blood tests taken from MOTOR MOUTH had revealed a respiratory infection which the gelding has been treated for.

Race 1   ONE SMART COFFEE MOBILE PACE
ARLO MAGUIRE - weakened over the concluding stages. Driver D O'Connell advised he was unable to release the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled. Mr O'Connell was issued with a warning for loose reining in the run home.
FOLLOW ME FANTASY - when asked to comment on the improved performance trainer S Allen advised the mare had responded well to an increased workload in the leadup to racing today and had derived benefit from the addition of sliding blinds.
FORTY WIVES - lay outwards in the middle stages.
KILAUEA - raced wide early.
WAVEWATCHER - hung inwards on several occasions in the run home having to be straightened by driver O Thornley.
DALNESS ARIZONA - weakened final bend.
FRIENDLY EYRE - over-raced middle stages.
Race 2   BRAD WILLIAMSON RACING STABLES TROT
PRINCESS PENNY - trainer A Hoffman was warned for being late to notify the mare would race with no whip. Trotted roughly throughout losing considerable ground. Weakened from the 600m. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the mare to have abrasions to the left hind pastern consistent with striking itself during the running. Trainer A Hoffman advised they would be making alterations to the shoeing of the mare in an effort to rectify this tendency.
ROCKY IN PARADISE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
ALMIGHTY - broke racing into the first bend when objecting to the grit, losing all chance.
MOMENT OF WHAT - the breast plate clip became detached just prior to the tapes being released. The gear was inspected and found to be in previous good condition.
IMPERIAL COMMAND - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Paced and broke briefly at the start losing ground.
Race 3   OTAGO HARNESS AWARDS FRIDAY 19TH APRIL MOBILE PACE
MELODY ARDEN - raced wide without cover from the 800m.
FRANCO ELVIS - raced wide from the 900m. Lay inwards rounding the final bend and early stages of the run home.
SHANNON B - out of position at the start despite the urgings of driver M Williamson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the run home.
JUSTA LILY - weakened rounding the final bend.
MY FRIEND LOUIE - raced wide early. Returned to the birdcage with a small amount of blood in the saddle area. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have the early stages of a boil.
SWEET TARTAN - broke after 170m losing ground and settled at the rear. Paced roughly having to be steadied near the 800m.
BAILEYS BAY - raced wide early.
EZRA THE SCRIBE - fractious prior to the start. The breast plate clip broke during the running with the gear being inspected and found to be in previous good condition. Cleared from the Unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 4   MATTHEW WILLIAMSON RACING STABLES HANDICAP TROT
BRIAN BEATT - weakened final bend.
ROBO TROUBLE - tangled away. Weakened from the 900m. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
IDEAL INVASION - trotted roughly rounding the first bend losing ground. Weakened from the 900m. A post-race Veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed no obvious abnormality. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
BROTHER LOVE - reared shortly after the start and broke briefly, losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke passing the 650m losing all chance.
Race 5   PLACEMAKERS MOBILE PACE
LORD FANTASY - hampered final bend by a weakening runner. Stewards questioned driver B Williamson regarding the manner he drove in the early stages. Driver Williamson explained that after surrendering the lead to BETTERTHANDIVA near the 1600m he elected to shift ground outwards near the 1300m in an attempt to regain the lead believing BETTERTHANDIVA would surrender the lead to a more favoured runner at that stage of the race after working hard early. Stewards, after considering his explanation, were satisfied that Mr Williamson's actions were not unreasonable given the circumstances.
ROCKNROLL DIVA - held up early stages of the run home.
FRANCO NEWPORT - raced wide early. Lay inwards early stages of the run home.
BETTERTHANDIVA - broke in the score up however was in position at the start. Weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a high heart rate and to be slightly lame. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming. Stewards questioned driver L Dobbs regarding the manner he drove during the running, in particular through the early and middle stages when attempting to lead and failing to give his runner any respite for a considerable distance. After hearing the explanation tendered, Stewards issued a charge under Rule 869(3)(g) in that he drove in a manner capable of diminishing his chances with Mr Dobbs admitting the breach. After viewing the replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Dobbs' driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today, 6 March, up to and including 1 April 2024, (7 days).
JAZZY STYX - shifted inwards and struck a track marker final bend. Junior driver W House, who declined the assistance of a senior driver, was issued with a warning for contacting track markers.
HALEY ROBYN - raced wide middle stages.
RAKAMURPH - raced wide early stages.
SOCIAL DISTANCING - contacted a track marker near the 1300m. Driver R Close was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice. Lay inwards early stages of the run home.
THE BETTOR MAJOR - raced wide from the 1100m.
Race 6   NEVELE R STUD/MACCA LODGE SOUTHERN OAKS HEAT (MOB PACE)
REMISSION - broke early in the score up however was in position at the start. Weakened rounding the final bend.
MISTY BLUE - connections advised the filly has been treated for muscle tie-up since last racing. Weakened rounding the final bend.
Race 7   DAVID OVENS BUILDING HANDICAP TROT
WINNING BONES - weakened final bend.
WHISPERING OVER - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1300m.
PYRAMID MYSTIC - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1300m. Hung inwards and struck a track marker rounding the final bend.
SHEZA TRENDY ONE - broke near the 1300m hampering trailing runners. Stood down to trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. Driver O Thornley reported the mare had been striking its knees during the running.
OUR PINOCCHIO - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1300m.
MAJESTIC LOVE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1300m.
Race 8   WAIMATE TC GRASS TRACK RACING HERE 24TH MARCH MOBILE PACE
KIRKMAN - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
KNOCKSHANBALLY - broke racing into the first bend hampering and checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
BLACK PEARL - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
FRANCO HOFFMAN - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
TEDDY BAKER - lay inwards and raced inside a track marker near the 300m. Weakened over the concluding stages.
