Race 1   TAGGART EARTHMOVING (AMATEUR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
EDGE SHEERAN - shifted outwards near the 1450m forcing FOVEAUX GAMBLER to race wider on the track. Driver N Munro admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) and after viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
BETTER FLY - raced wide without cover from the 800m.
SEARING LIGHT - weakened leaving the final bend hampering a trailing runner.
FOVEAUX GAMBLER - forced to race wider on the track near the 1450m when an inside runner shifted outwards. Held up final bend by a weakening runner. Driver C Negus defended a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations alleging she used her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mrs Negus, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mrs Negus' Amateur driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 3 April 2024 (1 month).
ARIZONAWILDCAT - raced wide with cover from the 800m. Driver K McClintock admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr McClintock's Amateur driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 3 April 2024 (1 month).
ONWARDSANDUPWARDS - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages.
Race 2   KEITH WOOLLEY FENCING TROT
HAYLEY MHOR - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
REAL MOONSHINE - broke near the 1200m when leading losing all chance.
LIVING THE MOMENT - broke near the 1300m after making contact with the sulky of the runner ahead hampering trailing runners. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break during the running. Driver M Purvis defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he had driven carelessly when trailing too closely and allowing his runner to contact the sulky TRANSTASMAN BUBBLE and break. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Purvis, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and imposed a fine of $400.
HOOFN IT - raced wide early.
ZEKE - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Switched to a pace before breaking again near the 800m when trailing the field. Driver S McNally was warned for the manner in which he restrained his runner when in a break after the start.
CIRCUS CIRCUS - trainer G Pullen advised CIRCUS CIRCUS would be racing in foal. Mr Pullen was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to advise the last date of service for the mare. Broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
IMPERIAL COMMAND - stood on the mark and refused to come forward into its starting position despite the assistance of a Starter's Assistant. Declared a non-runner by Stewards under Rule 213(1)(e) due to unsatisfactory manners prior to the start. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.
Race 3   NEW WORLD RANGIORA MOBILE PACE
ULTIMATUM - broke in the score up however was in position at the start. Weakened over the concluding stages.
THE FINISHER - broke near the 1600m when racing to the inside of SHAPELY losing ground and hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding this driver B Orange advised the gelding had been pacing roughly and broke as a result. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
MY SWEET BELLA ROSE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m.
LILY'S A STAR - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m.
MILLWOOD GODDESS - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m.
Race 4   JD & LISA FROM DEVLIN GROUP REAL ESTATE PACE
BUDDHA - crowded and contacted by an outside runner leaving the final bend and broke in consequence losing ground.
CAPTAIN FANTASTIC - broke at the start losing ground. Hampered near the 1400m by a breaking runner.
SPEED WRITER - driver R Holmes defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly leaving the final bend when allowing his horse to shift inwards checking BUDDHA (R Close) which broke. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and both drivers, Mr Holmes elected to change his plea to admit the charge and the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Holmes' driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 10 March up to and including 24 March 2024 (5 days).
SANS REPOS - began awkwardly. Driver R Alfeld was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
TEETAN - paced roughly and broke near the 1400m hampering trailing runners losing ground. Broke again near the 1250m losing ground. Broke on a further occasion near the 150m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
PACIFIC THUNDER - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1400m.
Race 5   DMJ BUILDERS LTD TROT
WUDABUBBIT - broke near the 75m losing ground.
OPAWA PEAK - broke at the start losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 200m.
A LATE LATE PRESSY - trainer P Wakelin advised the mare was showing signs of being in season. Over-raced early.
MAINBOCHER - broke near the 200m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
MOONDANCE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
Race 6   PJL (POWER JOINTING LIMITED) PACE
THE CONQUEROR - Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1600m when CARDI B raced wider on the track however it was established that driver T Williams had commenced his outward movement prior to CARDI B reaching his sulky wheel and no further action was required.
HAYLEY'S MEDDLE - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
ITSAMONEYMAKER - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Contacted the sulky wheel of HE'S TOUGH near the 150m. Junior driver R Harrison (assisted by B Butt) was shown the replay and issued with a warning. In taking this course of action Stewards were satisfied there had been no consequential effects as a result. Miss Harrison advised she did not activate the sliding blinds when held up in the run home.
CARDI B - broke at the start losing ground. Raced wider on the track near the 1600m.
PLAY PHILLY - driver R Close reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
RON MCKINLEY - broke at the start losing ground.
DANCE WITH THE BOSS - paced roughly through the middle stages. Weakened final bend.
Race 7   NORTH CANTERBURY TRIALS & WORKOUTS COMMITTEE MOB PACE
NOT REALLY BLONDE - connections advised the mare has been served since last racing. Weakened final bend hampering trailing runners.
BALTIMORE JILL - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners.
WHITE STAR ORLANDO - hampered by a weakening runner final bend. Driver C Dalgety advised he sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
EXECUTIVE BANNER - hampered by a weakening runner and broke when shifting wider near the 300m losing ground and hampering trailing runners. Driver R Houghton admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly by shifting ground when not in a position to do so. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Houghton's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 10 March up to and including 17 March 2024 (2 days).
OPO - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
DON JUAN - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.

RUBY'S A DELIGHT - broke at the start losing ground.
KENNEDY - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home. Driver J Curtin advised the removable deafeners were not activated in consequence.
STAR MAGIC - returned to the assembly area with blood present in its mouth. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor cut on the gelding's tongue.
COUNTRY GOLD - junior driver R Harrison was spoken to advisedly to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
JUSTA DIVA - held up late in the run home. Driver J Morrison advised the mare had hung throughout causing him difficulty.
STYLE COUNCIL - raced wide early.
ABSOLUTE DYNAMITE - broke at the start losing ground. Held up late in the run home.
Race 9   DAWE CONTRACTING MOBILE TROT
RACHMANINOV - late scratching at 2.46pm on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
PATRICK SWAYZE - weakened from the 700m hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
QUIK BARBIE - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
SODS LAW - broke rounding the first bend hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
MUSCLE SASS - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver S O'Reilly advised she sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
BUFFY NORTHSTAINS - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
ORLANDO EXPRESS - held up by a weakening runner passing the 700m.
NATIVES INFERNO - held up until late in the run home.
Race 10   RACING HERE AGAIN 28 APRIL MOBILE PACE
TREMENDOUS LOVER - hampered by a weakening runner near the 500m. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
SKY VALE - hampered by a weakening runner near the 500m. Held up early in the run home.
JUST FOLLOW ME - became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of VICTOR LUSTIG when being forced wider on the track near the 200m.
PERAKI REACTOR - trainer R Hayter advised the gelding has had its hocks treated since last racing.
MOTOR MOUTH - weakened from the 500m hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance trainer J Gray advised that the gelding may be feeling the effects of recent racing and he would give consideration to sending the horse for a spell. Mr Gray added he will have blood tests taken from the gelding in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
VICTOR LUSTIG - hampered by a weakening runner near the 500m.
MIDFREW LUCRE - paced roughly in the run home.
