BETTER BE WATCHING - broke briefly rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner with the off-side rear hopple carrier strap breaking whilst in a gallop. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Placed in restricted room near the 220m. Following the race the hopple carrier strap was inspected and found to be in previous good condition. | |

Authorisation of placings was withheld until the Stewards had reviewed the footage of the start, after which the mare was declared a non-runner under Rule 213(1)(e), due to unsatisfactory manners prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of NYLA. | |
DUKE OF SCOTLAND - sustained a punctured sulky tyre passing the 1200m and was retired from the race by driver B Barclay. Mr Barclay reported that the sulky wheel had been struck by the trailing JENNY GUMP, which had been over-racing for some distance. | |
JENNY GUMP - over-raced through the early and middle stages and was unable to be restrained, causing driver K Tomlinson some difficulty and struck the sulky wheel of DUKE OF SCOTLAND near the 1200m resulting in the tyre puncturing. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. | |
SUPERFAST - locked sulky stays with JOANIE MAGIC for a distance racing into the first bend. | |
