Race 3 - NZB STANDARDBRED SELLING 18 - 21 FEB MOBILE PACE
The adjourned hearing to consider a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) against Driver J Dunn (MCKENDRICK) was reconvened at tonight's meeting. Mr Dunn elected to change his plea to admit the charge and after hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended his driver's licence after the completion of racing on the 3 March up to and including 8 March 2024 (3 days).

Race 1   ITALIAN NIGHT FRI 8 MAR AT ALEXANDRA PARK HANDICAP TROT
LOVEMEAGAIN - lay in and contacted a track marker near the 1700m.
BUSY CANOODLING - broke at the start losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
DOLLY P - raced keenly middle stages.
CONRAD H - contacted a track marker near the 1250m. Driver D Balle was issued with a warning. Broke near the 450m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
MARIA THERESA - lost ground rounding the final turn.
A TROPHY WIFE - contacted a track marker rounding the final turn. Driver M McKendry was issued with a warning. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
Race 2   ALABAR WEANLING SALE 23 MAY MOBILE PACE
SPIRITED PEGGY - hung out and paced roughly near the 1500m and was unable to hold the back of the leader FRISCO BAY which enabled SMART AND MIGHTY to shift down to fill that position.
CAROLAN QUESTRO - raced greenly through the middle stages. Weakened from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination detected abnormal respiratory noise. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
SMART AND MIGHTY - paced roughly for a distance shortly after the start. Over-raced middle stages.
BEV THE GOAT - weakened final turn.
FOLLOW YOUR DREAM - raced at the rear throughout after having been restrained from its wide draw before weakening in the run home. A post-race veterinary examination revealed early symptoms of a respiratory infection. When questioned regarding the performance Driver J Dunn reported that the filly had raced lethargically throughout and could offer no explanation for the disappointing run.
BETA PREPARE - paced roughly shortly after the start. Over-raced middle stages before shifting out into the running line near the 1200m.
Race 3   OAKS & DERBY NIGHT MARCH 22 AT ALEX PARK MOBILE PACE
AKATEA - lay out throughout the run home, despite the efforts of Driver B Butcher, placing an outside runner in restricted room near the 60m.
TWISTA - raced wide without cover from the 600m.
JACCKA COOPER - had to be steadied when placed in restricted room by an inside runner near the 60m.
LEO LINCOLN - held up early final turn.
HAMPTON - lay in and broke racing into the first turn hampering a trailing runner and lost all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
BENJAMIN BUTTON - back from position throughout the score up. Junior Driver D Grundmann, assisted by J Abernethy, was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice.
CLOUDING OVER - lost ground when hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first turn.
Race 4   ATC SUPPORTS TEAM TEAL HANDICAP TROT
TAKE THE MONARCH - lay in near the 300m placing an inside runner in restricted room .
DRAGONS SUNRISE - contacted a track marker near the 300m when placed in restricted room by an outside runner.
ROYAL ACTION - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Lay out in the run home.
WISHING STAR - weakened from the 500m hampering a trailing runner. Contacted track markers near the 250m. Driver P Ferguson will be spoken to in the coming days regarding this.
KIMKAR DASH - hampered by a weakening runner near the 500m. Lay in final turn.
Driver P Ferguson (WISHING STAR) was issued a warning for contacting track markers on the final turn.
Race 5   ALABAR 3YO CLASSIC (MOBILE PACE)
HADRON COLLIDER - lay in near the 75m and had to be steadied.
VESSEM - over-raced early and middle stages.
CHRISTOPHER DANCE - lay in rounding the turns dislodging a track marker near the 1250m and then again at the 1000m. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. Held up late in the run home.
Race 6   OBEX MEDICAL HANDICAP TROT
LIAISON - lay out in the run home.
CON GRAZIA LOVE - lay in and contacted a track marker near the 1350m.
AMERICAN MUSCLE - broke near the 2000m losing ground. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation. The near side mudguard became detached near the 100m.
CASTANA - lay out rounding the final turn.
ROMEO FOXTROT - lay in and contacted a track marker near the 1250m.
SOUTHERN DIAMOND - broke at the start losing all chance.
JASINOVA - broke near the 2000m losing all chance.
ALL CASHED UP(AUS) - Driver C Hackett was spoken to advisedly in relation to the manner in which she paraded prior to the start which resulted in a brief delay. Stewards also spoke to Starter F Phelan in relation to this incident.
Race 7   THE ALEX BAR & EATERY MOBILE PACE
JOLIMONT - Driver Z Meredith reported that he didn't activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
NELSON'S BOY - paced roughly entering the first turn. Contacted a track marker final turn when placed in restricted room.
TREACHEROUS BABY - over-raced when being restrained to the rear rounding the first turn.
CAULFIELD - lay in rounding the final turn placing an inside runner in restricted room.
Race 8   N.I.S.B.A. FILLIES & MARES STAKES MOBILE PACE
DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER - lay in latter stages of the score up.
ARTISAN - Driver C Hackett, who declined the assistance of a senior driver, was issued with a warning for using her whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
