BOB BARRELIT - trotted roughly shortly after the start losing ground.

NOTONYOURNALLY - the rein pricker was removed prior to the start due to the mare warming up unfavourably. Lay out in the score up and through the early stages.
BALTIC STAR - broke in the score up checking a second line runner resulting in a false start being declared. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver R Gutsell elected to start from the Unruly position for the restart where the mare will remain for future mobile starts. Broke early in the score up of the restart and was a distance back from the Unruly position at the start.
KID GLOVES - J Patterson was an approved driver change for R Crawford. Held up early to middle stages of the run home.
MIKI'S BEAUTY - held up early to middle stages of the run home.
STILTON LORD - raced wide early.
Race 3   WOOING TREE VINEYARD MOBILE PACE
NYLA - lay out on several occasions in the run home having to be straightened by driver C Ferguson.
WARRIOR EASTON - over-raced early stages when wide on the track.
MATAI HARRY - hampered by a weakening runner near the 600m.
STRIKE ME HANDSOME - trainer G Hunt reported the gelding has been treated for dehydration since last racing. Weakened from the 600m hampering trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
FRIENDLY EYRE - hampered by a weakening runner near the 600m.
SOUTHERN STARR - over-raced middle stages.
Race 4   BP WORKSHOP CROMWELL MOBILE PACE
OSCAR MAC - weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
FABRICATE - raced three wide middle stages.
SKY PATROL - fractious prior to the start. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts. Raced wide early.
SUMMIT ULTRA - out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced three wide middle stages.
Race 5   CENTRAL OTAGO MOTOR GROUP TROT
AFTERBURNER - briefly hampered by a breaking runner near the 700m.
TONY MAC - broke briefly passing the 700m hampering trailing runners. Weakened final bend and broke again passing the 400m losing its chance. Stood down to trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow recovery.
SHANDON BELLS - briefly hampered by a breaking runner near the 700m. Junior driver C Williamson, assisted by M Hurrell, admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip & Rein Regulations that she used her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mrs Williamson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 1 March (2 days.)
Race 6   HYGAIN - REVELL DOUGLAS MEMORIAL SERIES MOBILE PACE
GEM N EM - trainer J Howe reported the mare has been treated for dehydration since last racing. Weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Thornley advised that although the mare had worked hard through the early and middle stages to maintain the lead he was still disappointed with the effort.
RAKAMURPH - held up early stages of the run home.
TARTAN RAIDER - driver C Faithful was warned for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
MACH'S BACK - raced wide early. Lay in rounding the bends. Over-raced middle stages. Held up early stages of the run home.
FRANCO HUMBIE - held up middle stages of the run home.
RIGHTAZZ - over-raced middle stages.
DENNIS DENUTO - raced three wide through the middle stages.
Race 7   ULTRASPAN OTAGO LTD FILLIES & MARES TROT
A false start was declared at the first attempt when SHEZA TRENDY ONE and COSMIC ANGEL breached the barrier strand despite the efforts of their respective drivers. Warnings were placed on the barrier records of both mares.
TO HILL AND BACK - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Trainer L McCormick reported TO HILL AND BACK would now be sent for a spell.
DIEDRE FRANCO - broke briefly passing the 1050m losing ground.
HOT SAUCY BETTY - broke at the start hampering an outside runner and losing all chance.
SHEZA TRENDY ONE - shifted wider on the track near the 750m and contacted the sulky wheel of NUBLIAH CHAMAY breaking in consequence and losing ground. After speaking with Junior driver O Thornley, assisted by C Thornley and viewing the replays it was established that the mare had shifted out at this stage of the race despite the efforts of Miss Thornley. A warning was placed on the racing record of SHEZA TRENDY ONE.
COSMIC ANGEL - held up leaving final bend and early stages of the run home.
EYE LOVE YOU - weakened over the concluding stages.
BEAT THE COVID - hampered shortly after the start by a breaking runner and broke in consequence losing all chance.
Race 8   SPEIGHTS ALE HOUSE PALMERSTON NORTH MOBILE PACE
MIGHTY REACTOR - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover.
SMART I AM - over-raced middle stages.
MAMMA MIA - broke in the score up however was in position at the start. Held up late in the run home.
EBURY STREET - driver H Sail reported he was unable to release the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
RAKNRUIN - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
Race 9   BP 2GO CROMWELL FRUIT BOWL (HANDICAP PACE)
JIMMYRAY - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced early stages.
PINSEEKER - driver J Cox reported he did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
HAZER - broke briefly at the start losing ground. Raced wide early. Lay out on the bends.
FOURTH AMENDMENT - fractious prior to the start.
JORDY - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
DONE ROCKN - fractious prior to the start then broke as the tapes were released losing ground. Broke again passing the 150m. Stewards spoke with driver C Thornley regarding this who advised that when he urged the horse with the whip the gelding ducked in and contacted the sulky wheel of HACKSAW RIDGE and broke in consequence losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
STILL ROCKIN - fractious prior to the start.
LESTER - fractious prior to the start. Lay in throughout the run home.
SHE'S TOUGH - trainer B Mowbray was issued with a warning for presenting the mare with the incorrect colours.
HACKSAW RIDGE - fractious prior to the start. Paced roughly near the 1800m when making an unsuccessful challenge for the lead. Lay out throughout the run home having to be straightened by driver N Williamson.
Race 10   STEVE & JAKE HARCOURTS CROMWELL HANDICAP TROT
DWINDLE STAR - lay in leaving the final bend contacting and dislodging a track marker.
BRING ON THE MUSCLE - weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
CODY BANNER - contacted a track marker near the 2000m. Driver R Allen was issued with a warning.
WILLANGUS LAD - broke when losing its footing when racing wide rounding the final bend.
VERTIGO - broke at the start losing ground.
ONE TWO MENNY - broke at the start losing ground. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
Race 11   ROCKGAS WANAKA MOBILE PACE
VINITA ROSE - broke in the score up checking a second line runner resulting in a false start being declared. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver K Tomlinson elected to remain in her allotted barrier position for the restart.
MAYSON SHARD - weakened final bend.
THE ORANGE ROUGHY - weakened from the 400m hampering trailing runners.
BRIDGET LOUISE - raced three wide without cover until the 900m. Weakened from the 500m.
THREEBEERSDEEP - raced wide early.
RAKERO ROCKET - raced three wide with cover until the 800m. Junior driver H Sail was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
OUTBACK MAN - driver B Fodie reported she was unable to release the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
