General
Driver B Orange advised he would be late arriving on course due to transport difficulties and was replaced for his driving engagement on IDEAL DOUBLE in Race 1 by W House. Due to no other suitable drivers being available for Race 7 (Junior drivers) two local trial licence holders, G Goodman and H Douglas were considered for an upgrade to Junior Horsemen for this race only. After accepting that both had demonstrated the necessary level of competency at trials and workouts, the proposal was put to the connections of GUNNER ANDY and MAGIC SIGN who advised the suggested arrangement was agreeable. Stewards then ruled that both replacements could be made with those changes effected. Pre-race blood testing was carried out. Stewards extended some leniency when assessing horse penalties in the latter part of today's programme due to the prevailing blustery conditions.

Trainer B McIntyre advised Stewards on 12 February that TAYLA ME has had its hocks treated since last racing.

Race 2 - CARPET PLUS WILLYS FLOORING TROT
Stewards spoke with starter Mr N Popham and driver B McLellan (STYRAX) in regard to the Unruly horses being further back from their position as the start was effected. As a result it was decided that the back tape would be reinstated for future standing starts which will not allow horses to be too far away from the start position. Notwithstanding this driver B McLellan was issued with a warning for permitting his runner to start back from its Unruly position.
Race 6 - ALABAR SOUTHERN SUPREMACY STAKES (HT 1) MOBILE PACE
Trainer N Williamson advised Stewards on 15 February, that blood tests conducted on MIRACULOUS revealed that the gelding was showing signs of a virus and has been treated accordingly.
Race 8 - CHECK OUT 'LOT 179 A MAJESTIC SON COLT' MOBILE PACE
EMERALD ABBEY - driver T Nally, assisted by M Williamson, admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) that he drove carelessly when allowing his runner to shift ground inwards near the 250m and lock wheels with MAGIC SIGN. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Nally's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today, 18 February, up to and including racing on Sunday, 25 February (2 days).
Race 11 - OTAUTAU VETS MOBILE PACE
Trainer N Williamson advised Stewards on 15 February, that ITOJE's blood tests showed that the gelding was showing signs of a virus and has been treated accordingly.
Race 12 - TRANSPORT SERVICES LTD MOBILE PACE
Trainer W Breen advised Stewards on 15 February that AMERICAN MAC has had its joints treated since last racing.

ROBYNS HUSTLER - held up for the majority of the run home only gaining clear racing room over the latter stages.
MAGIC SIGN - raced wide early. Held up through the middle stages of the run home. Driver H Douglas, in the presence of B Williamson, was shown the replays for educational purposes of the manner he drove shortly after the finish line when there was crowding from the outside.
ARDEN'S PURSUIT - when questioned regarding the improved performance connections stated that the gelding had been working well in the lead up to racing today and received a run to suit.
HALEY ROBYN - fractious and reared prior to the first score up. Driver B Fodie elected to start from the Unruly position for the restart where the mare will remain for future mobile starts. Raced wide early.
TUNEINSPORTSFANS - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer T Stratford stated that the gelding had been unlucky at its previous start, received a run to suit today and appreciates racing on the grass.
DUKE OF SCOTLAND - made contact with several track markers leaving the home straight when placed in restricted room by outside runners, due to crowding racing into the first bend.
LIVY DESMA - held up rounding the final bend.

MECHANICAL BULL - broke rounding the final bend with the offside hopple breaking as a consequence. The gear was inspected and found to be in previous good condition.
