Race 1   TRACKSIDE DINING ON SALE NOW PACE
MASTERLOU - the boring pole was removed from the gelding just prior to the start after it had broken as the field were addressing the barrier strand. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
ST JOHN EIGHT - broke briefly at the start. Weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver G O'Reilly advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Co-trainer G Dunn advised he will have blood tests conducted on the gelding in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
WHOSDREAMINGNOW - weakened leaving the final bend.
Connections advised Stewards on 20 February that blood tests taken from ST JOHN EIGHT showed signs of the horse having a low-grade respiratory infection which has been treated.
Race 2   2024 WOODLANDS YEARLINGS DRAFT TROT
WUDABUBBIT - trotted roughly early in the run home.
EDWARD HILL - driver T Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
SIGNAL HILL - broke after 100m losing all chance.
MOONDANCE - slow to begin. Broke after 100m losing all chance. Declared a non-runner by Stewards under Rule 213(1)(j) after being unable to take up its correct barrier position when crowded by an outside runner.
DANCING GLENIS - slow to begin. Lay inwards near the 800m striking a track marker. Driver R Anderson was warned for loose reining in the run home.
Race 3   AVON CITY FORD MOBILE PACE
WARRIOR CHIEF - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room until late in the run home.
DANCE WITH THE BOSS - paced roughly throughout the run home. Driver M Purvis advised the gelding had been striking the sulky crossbar with its hocks causing it to pace roughly.
WHATABLAZE - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver J Hay advised the gelding had been racing without luck in recent starts and had been able to capitalise on a good draw and economical run tonight.
LONE WOLF - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Stewards questioned driver S O'Reilly regarding the tactics she adopted on the final bend and early in the run home when electing to shift inwards in search of clear running. Miss O'Reilly advised the gelding had hung inwards when she had attempted to shift wider on the track near the 450m and again leaving the final bend causing her difficulty so she felt her best option was to shift ground inwards and obtain an inside run. After considering Miss O'Reilly's explanation and viewing the replays along with taking into account the racing manners of the gelding, Stewards took the matter no further.
JACK TAR - paced roughly late in the run home.
Race 4   FAHEY FENCE HIRE (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE TROT
MAINBOCHER - broke passing the 900m losing ground. Broke again rounding the final bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
HERE COMES JANE - hung outwards rounding the final bend. Broke passing the 175m losing its chance.
JASPRIT TROUBLE - held up by a weakening runner rounding the final bend. Junior driver R Harrison reported she sustained a punctured sulky tyre on the final bend.
REGAL SIERRA - out of position at the start. Junior driver S Thornley was issued with a warning.
BUFFY NORTHSTAINS - held up final bend.
WY FI - held up by a weakening runner rounding the final bend and struck the sulky wheel of JASPRIT TROUBLE despite the efforts of junior driver S Hill.
BELLEROPHONTE - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
TORVI - slow to leave the pre-race formation losing ground which resulted in the mare being out of position at the start. Junior driver M Holbrough was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to come up into position. In taking this course of action Stewards were mindful of Miss Holbrough's recent record in relation to this rule.
ORLANDO EXPRESS - weakened rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver A Drake advised he was very disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
WINNING BONES - held up final bend.
MISS YO - cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
Connections advised Stewards on 22 February that ORLANDO EXPRESS has been treated for muscle tie up since last racing.
Race 5   NZB STANDARDBRED SALES WEEK 2024 MOBILE PACE
ANYTIME AT ALL - over-raced middle stages.
PHILADELPHIA FILLY - junior driver A Cameron was issued a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations alleging she used her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. The hearing was adjourned by the Adjudicative Committee to the Rangiora HRC meeting on 17 February 2024.
LILAC LUXURY - broke late in the score up losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
TREMENDOUS SENSATION - over-raced early stages when being restrained to the rear of the field.
Junior driver A Cameron (PHILADELPHIA FILLY), assisted by G Smith, admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Cameron's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 17 February up to and including 6 March 2024 (5 days).
Race 6   RENWICK FARMS 11 YEARLINGS 2024 SALE MOBILE PACE
BET ON POLLY - paced roughly shortly after the start having to be steadied. Weakened from the 400m.
WHERE THE BOYS ARE - weakened from the 800m hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be showing signs of stress with a poor recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
DREAM BOYZ - weakened leaving the final bend.
SHAPELY - held up by a weakening runner passing the 700m. Junior driver S Thornley was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for striking a track marker near the 1500m.
Race 7   CHARLIE ANDERSON MEMORIAL FREE-FOR-ALL MOBILE PACE
MIGHTY LOOEE - lay outwards throughout the run home. Junior driver K Newman, who declined assistance from a senior driver, admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and in a continuous manner in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.

JUST FOLLOW ME - weakened leaving the final bend.
KINK - weakened final bend.
IDEAL DELIGHT - over-raced when racing in the parked position through the middle stages.
TIMES ARE A CHANGIN - weakened final bend.
Race 9   FROCKS AT THE TROTS FINAL 15 MARCH HANDICAP TROT
SINNER COOL - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2200m. Held up final bend.
RANDEL HUSTON P - fractious prior to the start and made contact with the barrier strand despite the efforts of driver K Butt. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke shortly after the start losing all chance and was retired from the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the left hind leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
MIXED FAITH - struck track markers near the 1500m and again leaving the final bend when leading. Driver B Williamson was issued a warning for contacting track markers.
LOOKSLIKEATRIXTER - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2200m. Weakened leaving the final bend.
WHO'S QUEEN - broke passing the 2200m hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
PARIS PRINCE - broke at the start losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 2200m.
RUAKAKA - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2200m. Trotted roughly in the run home. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer B Butt.
KRACKALING - over-raced early and middle stages. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 2200m. Held up for clear racing room in the run home.
HANOVER DA MOON - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2200m. Held up leaving the final bend. Trotted roughly passing the 100m when attempting to improve between RUAKAKA and DWINDLE STAR. Driver J Cox was warned for anticipating a run.
STYX JEWEL - broke shortly after the start losing all chance and was retired from the race.
SUNNY LOUIS - raced wide early. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 2200m. Driver J Morrison reported the entire had cast a shoe near the 1600m and had trotted roughly in consequence.
Race 10   GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
KRYSTAL DELIGHT - held up early in the run home.
FERNZ GOLDY - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Over-raced middle stages. Lay outwards rounding the final bend and was briefly placed in restricted room resulting in the mare striking a track marker when being corrected by driver J Morrison. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
REFINE - trainer J McDermott was issued a warning for being late to notify the mare would be racing with an anti choke device.
MICHAEL CAINE - connections advised the gelding would be racing without shoes. Paced roughly early in the run home.
ABSOLUTE DYNAMITE - when questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised the gelding had been unsuited to racing parked through the middle stages.
