Race 1   ATC SUPPORTS TEAM TEAL HANDICAP TROT
A false start was declared when the front barrier strand failed to release with both tapes being hand held for the restart.
CONRAD H - broke near the 150m losing its chance.
FLYING SCOTSMAN - broke shortly after the start and galloped for a considerable distance losing ground. Over-raced middle stages.
ALDEBARAN PIPPI - the boring pole was removed prior to the start after failing to warm up favourably. Broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
ALANA - stood on the mark losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners. When assessing this penalty Stewards took into account the false start.
DRAGONS SUNRISE - broke briefly at the start.
PHOEBE MAJESTIC - pre-race warmed.
MAZEPPA - trainer L Chin was warned for the presenting the gelding to race with blinds instead of the notified pacifier. Broke near the 1900m when challenging for the lead losing considerable ground before racing wide for a distance. Commenced to weaken near the 1100m before shifting up the track and was not persevered with. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing performance.
Race 2   BRECKON FARMS CHECK OUR 2024 DRAFT MOBILE PACE
XCITE ME - over-raced middle stages. Checked near the 250m losing ground.
SEA OF LOVE - placed in restricted room by an outside runner rounding the final turn before being checked when locking wheels with AYE AYE CAPTAIN near the 250m.
SAVARNA - checked near the 250m losing its chance.
PANDORA - hampered final turn.
BEV THE GOAT - checked near the 250m losing its chance.
FRANCO SANTANA - raced wide early. Hampered by a weakening runner final turn.
AYE AYE CAPTAIN - raced wide early. Weakened final turn hampering trailing runners. Lay outwards when under pressure despite the efforts of driver B Mangos locking wheels with SEA OF LOVE near the 250m hampering outside and trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Mangos advised the colt had trialed well leading up to tonight's event and after working hard early had weakened sharply and raced greenly rounding the final turn and was disappointing. A warning was placed on the colt's racing manners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
BETA PREPARE - hampered and had to take evasive action near the 950m. Raced four wide with cover from the 700m.
TENACIOUS D - over-raced middle stages. Hampered briefly near the 950m. Raced four wide without cover from the 700m.
BIGGER THE BETTOR - over-raced middle stages. Paced roughly for several strides near the 1100m. Checked near the 250m losing its chance.
DOM TORETTO - broke in the early stages of the score up however was in position at the start. Hampered and had to take evasive action near the 950m. Checked near the 250m losing ground.
CLASSIC GOLD - raced erratically near the 950m and had to be corrected hampering trailing runners.
SHAKE A LEG - lay in entering and rounding the final turn when improving wide placing inside runners in restricted room.
Race 3   NZB STANDARDBRED SELLING 18 - 21 FEB MOBILE PACE
TUGAWAR - paced roughly shortly after the start. Hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first turn. Placed in restricted room and had to be steadied near the 350m. Weakened in the run home.
CLOUDING OVER - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first turn. Shifted outwards placing an outside runner in restricted room near the 300m. Driver J Cole will be spoken to in the coming days regarding the manner in which he drove at this stage.
LUKA DONCIC - back from position throughout the score up despite the efforts of Driver D Ferguson. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first turn. Commenced to weaken from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. When questioned regarding the performance Co-trainer/Driver D Ferguson stated that the gelding had raced lethargically throughout and could offer no explanation for the disappointing run. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
HAMPTON - checked when forced down over track markers approaching the first turn and broke hampering trailing runners before losing all chance.
MCKENDRICK - Driver J Dunn was issued with a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he shifted inwards forcing HAMPTON down onto track markers approaching the first turn causing that runner to break losing all chance with resultant interference to trailing runners. Mr Dunn indicated that he would defend the charge and the matter was adjourned sine die by the Adjudicative Committee.

NELSON'S BOY - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first turn.
SHARKIES GIRL - broke racing into the first turn losing ground when being taken up the track to give room to inside runners.
SKIPPER - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first turn. Lay in rounding the final turn placing an insider runner in restricted room.
Race 4   WOODLANDS STUD 2024 YEARLING DRAFT MOBILE PACE
LINCOLN RIVER - Driver A Poutama was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after he shifted his gelding inwards and raced over a track marker near the 150m.
THROWYAARMSAROUNDME - lay in near the 1750m dislodging a track marker.
D J ROCK - paced roughly late in the score up and was back from position at the start. Lay in rounding the turns. When questioned Driver J Dickie advised that the gelding normally wore a boring pole but the ring on the pole halter had become detached in the stabling area so he had little option other than to use a rein burr but this had not had the desired effect with this runner hanging at various stages. A final warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
JUSTCALLMEMIKI - broke entering the first turn losing ground but soon settled then raced wide before being restrained to the rear.
Race 5   H R FISKEN & SONS NORTHERN TROTTING BREEDERS STAKES HCP TROT
MONARCH HILL - broke shortly after the start losing its chance.
SANS AU REVOIR - broke hampering trailing runners near the 1400m. Lay inwards on a number of occasions striking track markers. Broke again passing the 400m. Weakened in the run home.
MELSADELE - raced wide after being hampered by a breaking near the 1300m. Weakened from the 600m. When spoken to regarding the performance Driver T Mitchell stated that he was disappointed with the run even after having been forced to race wide. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Co-trainer B Hackett advised that the mare would be turned out for a spell.
KISS AND RUN - raced keenly middle stages. Weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance Driver P Ferguson could offer no explanation for the disappointing run. Stewards will follow up with Trainer J Stevens in the coming days.
JASINOVA - Driver L Chin admitted a charge under Rule 869(4) and the Home Straight Regulations in that he allowed his mare to shift into the passing lane in the final 100m. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Dr Chin's Driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 1 March 2024 (3 days). When questioned Dr Chin advised that a recent gear change of replacing an overcheck bit with a chinrest had been beneficial with the desired improvement in the mare's manners.
SUNNYS SISTER - when questioned regarding the performance Driver J Dunn stated that the race had not been run to suit as he had been forced four and five wide when attempting to improve down the back straight the final time, but had been satisfied with the manner in which the mare had finished on over the final stages.
SACRED MOUNTAIN - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1300m having to take evasive action which resulted in MELSADELE being forced to race wider on the track.
Race 6   NZB STANDARDBRED HARNESS MILLION 3YO FILLIES FINAL MOB PACE
KISS - lay in rounding the final turn striking a track marker. Paced roughly and had to be steadied near the 180m. Driver S Phelan admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Phelan's Driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 9 March 2024 (7 days).
IT'S NAE OR NEVER - weakened in the run home.
Race 7   NZB STANDARDBRED HARNESS MILLION 3YO C & G FINAL MOB PACE
DAVE DULEY - placed in restricted room by outside runners approaching the first turn and paced roughly for several strides.
THE SURFER - placed in restricted room by outside runners approaching the first turn.
BETTER KNUCKLE UP - held up early and middle stages of the run home when unable to secure clear racing room. Junior Driver C Hackett, assisted by S Phelan, was spoken to advisedly for the manner in which she attempted to shift ground in this incident.
HADRON COLLIDER - lay in entering the first turn despite the efforts of Driver M White placing inside runners in restricted room. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
TWISTA - hampered entering the first turn and raced over track markers. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running early in the home straight.
LE MAJOR - hampered briefly entering the first turn.
VESSEM - raced three wide without cover from the 1400m when unable to secure the position outside the leader which was being held by ALWAYS B ELITE.
Race 8   LINCOLN FARMS HANDICAP PACE
SIMPLY SAM - broke briefly at the start. Held up briefly final turn.
BAD MEDICINE - lay in and contacted a track marker entering the first turn when being steadied to take a trail.
FRANKIE MAJOR - weakened in the run home.
VILLAGE REBEL - paced roughly for a stride near the 200m when BAD MEDICINE shifted out from the marker line.
Race 9   LONE STAR ALEXANDRA PARK HANDICAP TROT
A false start was declared when the 15m barrier failed to clear LIAISON.
SOUTHERN DIAMOND - lay in and contacted track markers rounding the final turn.
DHONI TROUBLE - over-raced middle stages.
LIAISON - Driver D Butcher was questioned regarding his apparent lack of vigour throughout the run home. Mr Butcher advised that LIAISON had wanted to shift up the track as was this runner's normal tendency which placed him at some disadvantage. He further explained that the gelding had all but galloped rounding the final turn at its previous start first up from a spell so he had been reluctant to place the horse under undue pressure. Mr Butcher's comments were duly noted.
