Race 6 - KEVIN & SHIRLEY FARRIER MOBILE PACE
Driver J Dickie (BENJAMIN BUTTON) admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly when allowing his gelding to contact the sulky wheel of UNCLE DREW near the 300m resulting in BENJAMIN BUTTON breaking and losing ground. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
Race 8 - RACING AGAIN THURSDAY MOBILE PACE
Driver N Delany (SANTANNA MACH) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Delany's Driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 16 February up to and including the 7 March 2024 (4 days).

Race 1   RURAL GAMES 8-10 MARCH HANDICAP TROT
JOHNNY WHO - broke for several strides at the start.
SWEET OLIVIA - held up rounding the final bend.
SLAINTE - briefly hampered at the start. Over-raced middle stages.
WINNERS TIME - swung inwards when the barriers were released briefly hampering an inside runner. Over-raced middle stages when outside the leader.
MANCHESTER IN TIME - raced wide without cover from the 1000m.
NGAURUHOE - broke entering the first bend losing ground. Lay in losing ground near the 800m.
HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - slow early adding considerably to its 30m handicap. Raced at the rear throughout. When questioned regarding the performance Trainer F Cossey was of the opinion the mare may not have handled the track.
Race 2   MARION HICKEY MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT
TOPAZ CASTLETON - broke entering the first turn losing considerable ground. Broke near the 1850m when trailing the field. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
TRIFOLIUM - broke briefly at the start.
PRINCE ENVY - broke rounding the first turn losing ground. Broke again near the 1800m losing considerable ground. Broke on a further occasion near the 1100m losing all chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. Trainer F Mitchell reported that the gelding had been striking its sulky wheel discs causing him to become fired up.
TEQUILA SUNRISE - broke shortly after the start losing its chance.
CARLEY MAGUIRE - commenced to weaken near the 400m.
Race 3   DOUG BRADLEY PAINTERS MOBILE PACE
RAKERO SCOTTY - over-raced through the middle stages. Weakened in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. When questioned Driver W House advised that he felt the gelding may have partially choked during the middle stages.
LORD DELMAR - veered inwards when leading near the 1200m briefly inconveniencing two trailing runners, when appearing to shy at the mobile and raced over several track markers but was immediately corrected by Driver B Orange.
COTE D'AZUR - over-raced middle stages. Weakened from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
BENJAMIN BUTTON - Driver S Abernethy reported that he sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 400m.
SMOKINHOTCHEDDAR - late scratching at 9.14am on veterinary advice.
FULL OF DESIRE - lay in near the 400m contacting and puncturing the sulky tyre of BENJAMIN BUTTON.
UNCLE DREW - pulled hard in the score up.
Race 4   CARTOWN MOBILE PACE
CALL SECURITY - raced wide without cover from the 1200m when unable to secure the position outside the leader which was being held by EASTWOOD DREAM. When questioned regarding his mid-race decision Driver Z Meredith stated that he felt the parked position may be available or that EASTWOOD DREAM would roll to the lead however this did not occur resulting in him being obliged to remain three wide.
ONETANGI GIRL - raced keenly early stages.
TICKING OVER - over-raced rounding the first turn when being restrained to the rear. Held up middle stages of the run home with Driver N Delany not activating the deafeners as a result.
BAILEYS PITCH - when questioned regarding the improved performance Trainer S Doody advised that he had made several non notifiable gear changes to correct steering difficulties encountered on the first day.
AMELIA ROSE - when questioned regarding the performance Driver W House stated that he felt the mare had not backed up from its first day run.
EASTWOOD DREAM - raced wide early. Driver D Butcher reported that he had not activated the sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
PETER FORSBERG - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
EDDIE OSEI - over-raced middle stages. Raced wide with cover from the 950m.
Race 5   ITM MOBILE PACE
INVISIBLE - marginally back from position at the start despite the efforts of Driver N Delany.
VICTOR BRAVO - held up rounding the final bend and through the early stages of the home straight.
DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER - Driver C Hackett reported that she had not activated the deafeners due to having the field covered.
SUPERSTAR LEGEND - obliged to race wide for a distance during the middle stages when attempting to improve after ARTFUL LIVING commenced to over-race when in the parked position.
ARTFUL LIVING - pulled hard in the score up. Commenced to over-race when parked through the middle stages.
Race 6   KEVIN & SHIRLEY FARRIER MOBILE PACE
PRIVATE EYE - badly hampered by a tiring runner near the 600m losing ground when forced back to the rear.
CONSTANCE CLAIRE - weakened final turn.
BEACH PARTY - over-raced when leading during the middle stages. Tired from the 600m badly hampering PRIVATE EYE. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing performance.
COURAGE REACTOR - raced keenly in the score up and in the early stages.
Race 7   THE COBB MOBILE PACE
MISS WOODVILLE - Driver A Pyers admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
CRACKER ROCK - raced greenly in the score up and was back from position at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Raced four wide from the 500m. Lay in over the concluding stages having to be straightened.
Race 8   C A PENNY MOBILE PACE
SHARKNTATTIES - over-raced when being restrained to take a trail. Paced roughly rounding the first bend with Driver J Abernethy taking the mare clear of the field for safety reasons. Continued to pace roughly and was not persevered with. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
SHIRLEY BASSEY - lay inwards late in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
LOUIE V TONNE - late scratching at 8.45am due to being sold.
