OUR PEGASUS PEARL - Driver D Morrison was shown the replay and reminded of his obligation to drive his horse out fully to the end of the race. In considering this matter, Stewards took into account that Mr Morrison did not carry a whip with this runner and the mare was being comfortably held by the winner MR MONTY. Mr Morrison advised he would be adding a whip for the second day. | |

When questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver J Abernethy could offer no explanation for the disappointing run after having been able to set its own terms in front throughout. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality. | |
MISS WOODVILLE - unable to maintain its position late in the score up despite the efforts of Driver A Pyers. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners. Mr Pyers was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. | |

Stewards lodged a protest against this runner's 2nd placing under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. Driver J Dickie did not contest the protest and SECRETS ABOUND was disqualified by the Stewards. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. | |

COURAGE REACTOR - the required Veterinary clearance was received. Raced wide early before obtaining a position in the running line near the 2100m. Obliged to race three wide without cover from the 1350m when unable to secure the position outside the leader which was being held by the over racing EDDIE OSEI. Weakened rounding the final turn. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. | |
BARBAROSSA - raced wide with cover from the 1350m before being taken forward four wide near the 600m. | |
