Race 10 - SSBA SOUTHERN BELLE (HEAT 1) MOBILE PACE
Driver K Green (FERNLEIGH BLACKBIRD) defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging she drove carelessly near the 150m when striking the sulky wheel of IDEAL DOUBLE which punctured. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Miss Green's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 11 February up to and including 22 February 2024 (3 days).

WILD EAST - paced roughly rounding the final bend.

QUERCUS RUBRA - broke rounding the first bend losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.

WHATA RAZZLE DAZZLE - broke after 100m losing all chance.
STYRAX - driver B McLellan will be spoken to in the coming days in regards to the start.

BETTER BE WATCHING - held up final bend.
OH MICKY - hampered by an easing of the pace near the 2000m.
MECHANICAL BULL - hung outwards and paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hampered by an easing of the pace near the 2000m.
ON TOP OF THE WORLD - weakened over the concluding stages.
SCOTT - trainer K Green was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the gelding to race with removable deafeners instead of the notified fixed deafeners. Out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver K Green. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Paced roughly and broke briefly near the 2100m then raced greenly and hung out hampering a number of trailing runners. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
LEDGER'S MAID - out of position at the start. Junior driver D Anderson was issued a warning. Held up final bend.
BREENY'S ROCK N ROLL - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver N Williamson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Raced wide early. Hampered near the 2000m when placed in restricted room near the sulky of BALTIC STAR. Held up final bend.
SUNSHINE MOMENT - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
STILTON LORD - hampered by an easing of the pace near the 2000m.
FRANKIE - hampered by an easing of the pace near the 2000m.
ROBYNS ART - held up final bend and throughout the run home.
BALTIC STAR - sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 2000m when there was an easing of the pace and was retired from the race near the 1200m.
KASHI - raced wide early. Broke passing the 200m losing ground. Cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 4   WINTON NIGHT 'N DAY MOBILE PACE
NEK DELIGHT - held up final bend.
SHERWOOD MAGGIE - over-raced middle stages.
MATAI HARRY - held up leaving the final bend.
CAST A SHADOW - raced wide early. Again raced wide from the 1000m.
MYDADTHETERROR - out of position at the start. Driver R Stevens was issued a warning.
I'M WATCHING YOU - over-raced when being restrained to obtain cover in the early stages. Raced wide from the 1000m.
WARRIOR EASTON - over-raced through the middle stages. Weakened over the concluding stages with driver N Williamson reporting the gelding had choked down after over-racing.
BOMBAY GLACIER - trainer A Paisley was issued a warning for presenting the mare to race without the notified blinds.
Race 5   SOUTHLAND VEHICLE SALES TROT
SWITCH ON - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
BILL BOOTIT - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
HEAVENLY STRINGS - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
SON OF THE CLEANER - broke rounding the final bend losing ground.
FIERY BANDITO - raced wide from the 1400m.
Race 6   ALABAR SOUTHERN SUPREMACY STAKES (HT 1) MOBILE PACE
JACCKA EVAN - lay out in the run home. Driver D Anderson advised that the gelding had raced greenly and lay out leaving the final bend and in the run home which had made him unable to utilise the passing lane. Mr Anderson added he would be recommending gear changes prior to racing next.
ULTIMATE WEAPON - broke after 100m losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BUILT FOR GLORY - lay in at various stages of the run home having to be straightened by driver T Williams. Mr Williams reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
SONG SUNG BLUE - lay in entering the run home having to be corrected by driver M Williamson.
MIRACULOUS - lay in middle stages of the run home. When questioned regarding the performance of favoured runner, trainer/driver N Williamson was disappointed and unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Mr Williamson requested blood tests be taken from the gelding and Stewards will follow up the results in the coming days.
Race 7   BRIAN BARCLAY MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
NO PERFECT PRINCESS - weakened from the 700m hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised he was very disappointed and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
HIGHT PATROL - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver M Hill. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 700m.
VANESSA MARIE - hampered by a weakening runner near the 700m. Driver M Williamson was warned for loose reining in the run home.
ON THE BEACH - trainer W Adams was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race without the notified blinds.
BILL MO - slow to leave the pre-race formation and then broke in the score up losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 8   CHECK OUT 'LOT 179 A MAJESTIC SON COLT' MOBILE PACE
ROBYNS HUSTLER - driver M Hill was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
FRANCO CORNEL - broke passing the 150m losing all chance.
TARTAN RAIDER - raced wide early.
LIVY DESMA - held up for clear racing room early and middle stages of the run home.
EMERALD ABBEY - attempted to shift ground at the top of the run home placing an inside runner in restricted room and locked wheels with MAGIC SIGN, hampering a trailing runner. Stewards questioned junior drivers T Nally (EMERALD ABBEY) assisted by B Williamson, and C Dalgety (MAGIC SIGN) who declined assistance from a Senior driver, regarding an incident near the 250m. After hearing from both drivers and viewing the films Stewards laid an Information against Mr Nally alleging that he drove carelessly in this incident. The Adjudicative Committee adjourned the matter sine die until the Gore Harness Racing Club's meeting on 18 February 2024.
MAGIC SIGN - locked wheels with EMERALD ABBEY which shifted in near the 250m losing ground. Driver C Dalgety reported he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
TUNEINSPORTSFANS - hampered near the 200m.
Race 9   MACCA LODGE / NEVELE R STUD SOUTHERN OAKS (HT 2) MOBILE PACE
FLYING ELLIE - held up early in the run home.
ALL YOU NEED IS ME - a post-race veterinary examination at the request of the connections revealed the filly had cross-fired during the running and was treated for an abrasion to the left front knee.
RAKLOU - lay in near the 600m when shifting ground despite the efforts of driver P Hunter making contact with ALL YOU NEED IS ME with the inside tyre deflating as a result. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
Race 10   OTAUTAU FOUR SQUARE SUPERMARKET WAIRIO CUP HANDICAP PACE
A false start was declared when the 10m barrier strand failed to release and was handheld for the restart.
There was a delay to the restart when TACT MCLEOD reared and turned away.
There was a further delay when ROBYNS PLAYBOY breasted the barrier strand.
ROBYNS PLAYBOY - paced roughly in the early stages.
BROOKIES PLAYER - tangled away. Raced wide early.
DECEPTIVE LEE - the rein pricker was removed prior to the start due to the gelding warming up unfavourably. Broke briefly at the start.
MR CASH MAN - held up leaving the final bend.
SAND WAVE - the required veterinary clearance was received.
Race 11   OTAUTAU VETS MOBILE PACE
BOBBIES ROCK - fractious prior to the start. Weakened final bend.
ITOJE - trainer N Williamson was warned for presenting the gelding to race with the incorrect number. Broke briefly passing the 2000m. When questioned regarding the performance driver O Kite advised the gelding had worked hard through the middle stages which had taken its toll however he was still slightly disappointed with the effort.
PERFECT POTION - fractious prior to the start.
MR PRESIDENT - fractious prior to the start.
TEDDY BAKER - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Fractious prior to the start. Hampered early in the score up however was in position at the start. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver M Williamson advised the gelding had over-raced and he would be making gear changes prior to racing next.
CAPTAIN MEISTER - fractious prior to the start and was slow to leave the pre-race formation. Paced roughly and broke briefly passing the 1250m. Broke again rounding the final bend losing ground.

LUCYS DELIGHT - held up early in the run home.
BIZZIE LOU - raced three wide middle stages.
RAKAMURPH - raced three wide middle stages.
