Trainer G Smith advised Stewards on 9 February that LIGHT ME UP has been treated for a bacterial infection since last racing.
Race 6 - BRECKON FARMS CHECK OUR 2024 DRAFT MOBILE PACE
Stable representative C Dalgety advised Stewards on 8 February that blood tests taken from FERNETTI revealed the gelding to be suffering from a virus which has been treated adding the horse is now being freshened prior to resuming.
Driver J Stormont (HEY BARTENDER) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $400.
Race 8 - TK PLASTERING MOBILE TROT
Trainer T Bagrie advised Stewards on 8 February that blood tests taken from WY FI revealed the gelding to have a high white cell count which has been treated with the horse continuing with its current preparation.

Race 1   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION. MOBILE PACE
HELIUM - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised the gelding had hung inwards rounding the final bend and throughout the run home causing him some difficulty.
HEISENBERG - lay outwards final bend losing ground. Continued to lay outwards early in the run home when driver T Williams attempted to shift inwards into the passing lane.
Race 2   FAHEY PORTALOO TROT
Prior to Race 2 the track was upgraded to Fast.
There was a delay to the start after BELLEROPHONTE became fractious with the boring pole being removed prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
There was a further delay when a false start was declared due to THE CHASE backing away and standing sideways prior to the start being effected. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver B Orange elected to start from his allocated barrier position for the restart.
The field was again turned away due to the overcheck on MURANO requiring attention and THE CHASE continuing to display poor barrier manners. THE CHASE was sent to the unruly position by the Starter where the gelding will remain for future standing starts.
There was another delay when CRAZY N LOVE reared and fell to the track with the mare being declared a late scratching on Veterinary advice.
RACHMANINOV then delayed the restart and was sent to the unruly position by the Starter where the gelding will remain for future standing starts.
GINAS MAJESTY - briefly locked wheels with SASSY STAR passing the 700m.
BELLEROPHONTE - broke after 100m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room until late in the run home.
THE CHASE - raced wide early.
LOVEY DOVEY NOVA - hung inwards at various stages throughout proving difficult for driver T Chmiel with the mare striking track markers and losing ground near the 900m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
LOOKSLIKEATRIXTER - hampered by a breaking runner near the 700m.
NAVARA - driver J Ford reported the mare had over-raced during the running.
MURANO - hampered by a breaking runner near the 700m.
CLYDE - held up middle stages of the run home.

SASSY STAR - broke passing the 700m after locking wheels briefly with GINAS MAJESTY hampering trailing runners and losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
Race 3   FAHEY ISPY MOBILE PACE
COURTNEY ROSE - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver B Butt advised the filly had raced lethargically throughout and may be feeling the effects of recent racing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SWEETAZZ - weakened from the 500m.
JAY PEE SHENAY - held up final bend.
SAMVASA - hung inwards through the early stages when being restrained towards the rear of the field.
MILLWOOD GODDESS - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1000m. Held up leaving the final bend.
MUNROE'S MATE - over-raced middle stages.
GOOD TIME BETTY - broke passing the 1000m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Driver C DeFilippi was warned for striking the final track marker prior to the passing lane. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 4   CONTINENTAL EVENT HIRE SUMMER FFA (MOBILE TROT)
STYX JEWEL - out of position at the start. Junior driver W House, who declined assistance from a Senior driver, admitted a breach of Rule 858(1)(i) in that he failed to maintain his position behind the mobile. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200. Broke near the 60m and continued on in a break across the finish line. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the mare had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. After viewing the replays driver W House did not contest the protest and STYX JEWEL was disqualified by the Stewards.
PRINCE TEKA - broke after 100m hampering trailing runners losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hung inwards nearing the 1100m striking track markers losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 900m.
TU TANGATA - out of position at the start. Driver P Nairn admitted a breach of Rule 858(1)(i) in that he failed to maintain his position behind the mobile. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200. Hampered by a breaking runner after 100m. Trotted roughly passing the 500m losing ground.
NAZARETH - hampered by a breaking runner after 100m. Trotted roughly rounding the first bend. Broke near the 900m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration on the left front leg which was treated and lameness in the right hind leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
OSCAR BONAVENA - pre-race warmed. Lay inwards near the 1500m striking a track marker. Trotted roughly leaving the final bend having to be steadied. Driver N Rasmussen advised she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 5   FAHEY SKIPS PACE
STYLE COUNCIL - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
ARDEN'S PURSUIT - broke at the start losing ground.
STAR MAGIC - held up final bend.
DONTTELLTHEBOYS - driver C DeFilippi defended a breach of Rule 868(3) alleging that he failed to drive the gelding out to the end of the race when having a reasonable chance of finishing in 1st placing. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr DeFilippi, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr DeFilippi's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 11 February up to and including 6 March 2024 (7 days).
RAPID RESPONSE - driver T Chmiel was warned for striking the final track marker prior to the passing lane.
FORD RULE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
GOD OF THUNDER - broke at the start losing ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened final bend. Driver G Smith advised that in his opinion the gelding may have choked down.
ARNOLD LAYNE - weakened from the 350m hampering a trailing runner. Driver R Close was warned for striking a track marker rounding the final bend.
RUBY'S A DELIGHT - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
Race 6   FAHEY FENCE HIRE (52nd) NZ S'BRED BREEDERS STAKES (MOB PACE)
LIFES A BEACH - when questioned regarding the performance driver J Morrison advised the mare had over-raced during the running with the effort taking its toll.
ALLAMERICANLOVER - paced roughly early in the run home.
MANHATTAN - trainer B Butt advised the mare would be racing without front shoes.
BOUDICA - paced roughly near the 1900m after a slight easing of the pace. Weakened leaving the final bend.
KIKORANGI BLUE - weakened leaving the final bend.
DANCE TILL DAWN - paced roughly near the 1900m after a slight easing of the pace.
CLASSIE LINC - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
KAHLUA FLYBYE - raced wide early. Over-raced when being restrained to obtain cover near the 1200m. Hung inwards in the run home causing driver J Cox some difficulty.
FERNLEIGH BLACKBIRD - paced roughly near the 1900m after a slight easing of the pace. Weakened final bend.
Race 7   WOODLANDS STUD SUPPORTING OUR FUTURE MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when HOWLING WOLF broke in the score up checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver K Newman elected to move to the unruly position for the restart where the gelding will remain for future mobile starts.
TALIESIN - weakened from the 800m. When questioned regarding the performance driver M Purvis could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with Mr Purvis in the coming days.
HOWLING WOLF - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Weakened from the 500m. When questioned regarding the performance driver K Newman could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
FUSION REACTOR - co-trainers R & J Dunn were warned for being late to notify the gelding would be racing with sliding blinds. Weakened early in the run home. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with connections in the coming days.
PERAKI SEELSTER - raced wide early. Held up final bend.
TEMPO WARRIOR - raced wide early. Weakened leaving the final bend.
WARRIOR CHIEF - raced wide early.
TIDE AND TIME - over-raced middle stages. Driver R Close was warned for striking the sulky wheel of the weakening TALIESIN when shifting ground near the 700m. In taking this course of action Stewards were mindful there had been no consequential effects as a result.
BETTOR BE SHARP - held up final bend.
JACK TAR - paced roughly in the run home.
Race 8   ISAAC CONSTRUCTION HANDICAP TROT
T K MEGASTAR - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
GAZZA BEATT - held up by a weakening runner final bend. Trotted roughly early in the run home.
MAKE MY SUNDON - broke near the 900m and continued on in a break for a considerable distance losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
RUAKAKA - broke near the 200m when leading losing all chance.
DWINDLE STAR - hung inwards final bend when weakening striking a track marker.
BEAT THE COVID - fractious prior to the start and reared as the start was effected with the mare breaking and losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.
ALDEBARAN FLOSS - trotted roughly in the early stages. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts. Again trotted roughly rounding the final bend. Trainer M Swain advised she would be making alterations to the mare's shoeing prior to resuming.
ROYDON MUSCLE - hung inwards rounding the first bend striking a track marker which was dislodged. Over-raced middle stages. Held up by a weakening runner final bend. Continued to be held up until late in the run home.
Race 9   GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
ELITE STYX - over-raced middle stages.
MILOU - weakened leaving the final bend.
ELEPHANTINTHEROOM - the required veterinary clearance was received. Broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SOCIAL DISTANCING - weakened in the run home.
MICHAEL CAINE - held up leaving the final bend and early in the run home. Briefly locked wheels with FERNZ GOLDY near the 200m when attempting a marginal run. Driver B Hope was issued with a warning for anticipating a run.
FERNZ GOLDY - briefly locked wheels with MICHAEL CAINE near the 200m. Weakened in the run home.
BETTOR REACTION - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver G O'Reilly. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced middle stages. Hung inwards rounding the final bend when weakening.
RHYME N REASON - broke in the score up losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
JUDGEMENT BAY - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Over-raced for a distance passing the 800m when being restrained to obtain cover.
