Race 1   GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PUKEKOHE MOBILE PACE
LUKA DONCIC - raced keenly middle stages.
NEXT LEVEL - paced roughly in the score up however was in position at the candy pole. Paced roughly again shortly after the start having to be steadied losing ground and hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stewards will follow up with Trainer S Reid in the coming days. When questioned regarding the performance Driver M White advised that he was disappointed with the run and that the gelding had raced greenly at various stages.
CLOUDING OVER - raced wide early. Raced keenly middle stages.
ALWAYS B ELITE - co-trainer S Phelan was questioned in relation to the notified gear worn by this runner and his explanation was accepted on this occasion.
MINJEE - raced keenly middle stages.
MCKENDRICK - hampered shortly after the start.
Race 2   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION. MOBILE PACE
T BONE WALKER - lay in and paced roughly entering the first turn hampering a trailing runner.
SHAKE A LEG - Driver M White was shown the replay and reminded of his obligation to ensure he drives his runner out fully over the concluding stages. In considering this matter Stewards took into account Mr White's explanation that the gelding had been doing its best and its chances had not been affected.
PREDATOR - locked wheels briefly with CLASSIC GOLD passing the 600m.
CLASSIC GOLD - locked wheels briefly with PREDATOR passing the 600m.
FRANCO SANTANA - raced wide early before improving to lead near the 1600m.
GIMMESOMELOVIN - hampered near the 1900m and then over-raced for some distance. Lay inwards when weakening near the 600m dislodging a track marker. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
Race 3   GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN DAD HANDICAP TROT
FATHER BARRY - broke shortly after the start losing ground before settling. Authorisation of this runner's 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
DOLLY P - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
MARIA THERESA - connections advised that the mare will be racing in season.
CONRAD H - trotted roughly late in the run home. Authorisation of this runner's 3rd placing was withheld until it was confirmed that the gelding was in its correct gait on reaching the finishing line.
ALDEBARAN PIPPI - Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1350m when this runner appeared to race wider on the track when improving to the outside of MARIA THERESA. It was established that MARIA THERESA had shifted out into the running line prior to ALDEBARAN PIPPI covering its sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.
Race 4   BRECKON FARMS CHECK OUR 2024 DRAFT F & M MOBILE PACE
C U THERE - broke at the start checking a trailing runner before being hampered by an outside runner shortly after and lost ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners. Authorisation of this runner's 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
MOLLY BELWIN - over-raced middle stages.
XCITE ME - broke shortly after the start checking several trailing runners and lost considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
SPIRIT OF WAIHEKE - underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections which revealed muscle tie up with the filly being treated by the Veterinarian.
MADRID - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start losing ground. Checked shortly afterwards by another breaking runner losing further ground. Authorisation of placings were withheld until Stewards viewed the replay with Co-Trainer/Driver M Purdon and it was confirmed that the interference from C U THERE occurred after the start was declared. Weakened rounding the final turn. When spoken to regarding the performance Mr Purdon advised he was disappointed with the run even taking into account the lost ground due to the interference over the early stages and the mid-race effort to improve around to race outside the leader near the 900m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
SHEZ THE ONE - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start and shifted in hampering an inside runner.
Race 5   WOODLANDS STUD STANDOUT SEVEN F & M MOBILE PACE
SEASIDE ROSE - raced keenly middle stages. Raced over the final track marker in the run home after having been shifted inwards by ULTIMATE RACY GIRL. After speaking with Driver J Dickie who advised his filly may have over-reacted, no further action was deemed necessary.
ARTISAN - when questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance Driver C Hackett advised that the mare had benefitted from being able to set its own terms when leading.
Race 6   HYDROFLOW HANDICAP TROT
MELSADELE - broke at the start but soon settled.
CASTANA - tended to shift out under pressure in the run home but was corrected by Driver B Butcher.
LIAISON - trotted roughly for a stride near the 300m and was then held up early in the run home.
AMERICAN MUSCLE - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner and lost considerable ground.
ALL CASHED UP(AUS) - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Over-raced middle stages. Driver B Hackett was spoken to advisedly in relation to starting wider on the track when drawn unruly in future stands.
Race 7   NZB STANDARDBRED SALES AT KARAKA FEB 18 MOBILE PACE
HADRON COLLIDER - approval was given for the shadow roll to be removed prior to the start.
KASHKEEPER - co-trainers S & A Telfer were issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the gelding to race without the notified blinds. Weakened final turn.
IRON BRIGADE - over-raced early and middle stages when outside the leader. Weakened in the run home.
CHASE A DREAM - raced greenly and shifted outwards approaching the 1000m having to be corrected by Driver M Purdon. Shifted out under pressure over the final stages. Mr Purdon was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home in future.
Race 8   REMEMBERING - NEIL BRADY MOBILE PACE
NELSON'S BOY - broke briefly at the start losing ground. A final warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
THROWYAARMSAROUNDME - momentarily hampered by an inside runner on straightening for the run home.
LINCOLN RIVER - over-raced middle stages.
LOU BABY - raced wide early. Shifted out marginally on straightening for the run home momentarily hampering an outside runner but was corrected by Driver P Ferguson.
TWO EYE SEE - over-raced middle stages.
Race 9   HARNESS MILLIONS AT ALEXANDRA PARK FEB 16 MOBILE PACE
No race incidents to report.
Race 10   AUCKLAND CO-OP TAXIS 300-3000 HANDICAP TROT
SHESGOLD - Driver T Mitchell was shown the replay and reminded of his obligation to ensure he drives his runner out fully over the concluding stages.
DRAGONS SUNRISE - broke shortly after the start and galloped for a distance losing considerable ground. Weakened final turn.
DHONI TROUBLE - weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance Driver D Butcher stated that he was satisfied with the run after the gelding had raced without cover from the middle stages.
