Race 1   SOUTHERN DEMOLITION & SALVAGE LTD AMATEUR DRIVERS MOB PACE
GET KRAKEN - shifted inwards near the 500m when insufficiently clear of FOVEAUX GAMBLER which was checked and broke with the trailing FORTY WIVES also being checked and breaking. Sustained a punctured sulky tyre in this incident and was retired from the race. Driver M Love admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly when shifting ground and after viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Love's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 17 March 2024 (6 weeks).
FORTY WIVES - checked near the 500m and broke losing all chance.
CHANGEAROUND - shifted up the track leaving the final bend and early in the run home when leading. Driver C Wigg was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
FOVEAUX GAMBLER - checked and broke near the 500m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Driver C Negus reported she sustained a punctured sulky tyre in this incident.
EVIDENTLY - late scratching at 9.00am on Veterinary advice.
OFF THE EDGE - driver A Edge advised he did not activate the sliding blinds due to having the field covered. Mr Edge admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip free of the rein on one occasion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
Race 2   SBT MARKETING TROT
COURTNEY MAY - broke near the 60m and continued on in a break across the finish line. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the mare had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. After viewing the replays driver S Tomlinson did not contest the protest and COURTNEY MAY was disqualified by Stewards.
WHISPERING MAJESTIC - driver B Orange advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to the gelding trotting roughly in the run home.
IRISH SUMMER - trotted roughly in the early stages. Again trotted roughly and hung outwards for a distance passing the 700m losing ground.
HAIL STONE - lay inwards near the 1550m striking a track marker which was dislodged.
IMPERIAL COMMAND - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. Broke as the start was effected losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.
MOA MOJITO - broke near the 1700m losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 350m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
Race 3   EDINBURGH REALTY MOBILE PACE
BONO BROWN - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer F Baigent advised the gelding had benefited from a good barrier draw and being able to lead.
RURAL CASH - weakened passing the 450m. Junior driver B Fodie (assisted by S Tomlinson) was shown the replay and spoken to advisedly for the manner she drove in the early and middle stages when racing in the parked position and advised to make a greater effort to restrain her runner after being unable to lead and allow it sufficient respite. In taking this course of action Stewards were mindful of Miss Fodie's lack of race day experience.
SAMVASA - over-raced and paced roughly through the middle stages.
MAYBE GOLD - paced roughly passing the 75m.
MAJOR POWER - raced wide early.
THE BETTOR MAJOR - broke passing the 1400m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
Race 4   G K FYFE PAINTING & DECORATING FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
BREENY'S ROCK N ROLL - held up until late in the run home.
CRACKASKY - lay inwards striking track markers near the 1500m. Held up early in the run home.
CHEER ME ON - held up early in the run home.
TERRA SANCTA - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Lay inwards racing into the first bend striking a track marker which was dislodged. Again lay inwards near the 1500m striking track markers. Trainer/driver M Williamson advised he would be making gear changes prior to the mare resuming.
MAJOR DISRUPTION - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Raced wide from the 1100m and without cover from the 900m. Weakened early in the run home. Driver K Kelly was warned for using her whip free of the rein in the run home. Mrs Kelly was issued a $200 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to advise the mare was showing signs of being in season.
ADDISON MARIE - driver J Cox advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
SOMACHBETTOR - paced roughly passing the 500m. Held up early in the run home.
Race 5   EQUINE VETERINARY SERVICES & BELMONT PARK STUD TROT
TOP POCKET CHANCE - broke when racing over the crossing near the 1600m losing all chance.
LUCINDA HEST - broke when racing over the crossing near the 1600m losing ground.
BRIANNA - driver D McCormick was warned for being late to arrive at the start area. Over-raced middle stages.
TARUKENGA - weakened leaving the final bend.
GRANNY ROSE - broke prior to racing over the crossing approaching the 1600m losing ground.
BARRYTOWN - lay outwards on several occasions in the run home having to be corrected by its driver.
JASPRIT TROUBLE - driver M Heenan was warned for being late to arrive at the start area.
BUFFY NORTHSTAINS - trotted roughly through the early stages.
SASSY STAR - broke when racing over the crossing near the 1600m losing ground. Broke again passing the 800m losing all chance.
MENTALIST - driver L O'Reilly was warned for being late to arrive at the start area. Broke passing the 1000m losing ground. Broke again passing the 250m losing all chance.
Race 6   WILBUR ELLIS NZ LTD/LLENNOCO LTD MOBILE PACE
SCARLETT'S LEGACY - held up early in the run home.
FLYING BIRD - junior driver B Fodie (assisted by M Hurrell) was shown the replays and issued a warning for her lack of judgement when electing not to improve her position outwards to obtain cover following SZYBKA LANE when an opportunity existed for a distance passing the 900m. In taking this course of action Stewards were mindful of Miss Fodie's lack of race day experience.
PRINCESS MERITATEN - junior driver C Dalgety advised the mare had paced roughly in the run home and may not have been suited to racing on a grass track.
SZYBKA LANE - junior driver H Sail was warned for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
Race 7   CUTLERS REAL ESTATE LTD PACE
TACT TEEL - lay in passing the 200m.
SOVIET STAR - lay outwards leaving the final bend and in the run home with the gelding shifting up the track. Driver T Chmiel was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
JUSTIN FUN - broke briefly at the start. Briefly crowded passing the 200m after an inside runner shifted ground outwards.
GOD OF THUNDER - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ULTIMATE COUNSEL - paced roughly near the 250m having to be steadied.
TOPAZ - trainer J McDermott was issued a warning for presenting the mare to race without the notified anti choke device.
Race 8   LLENNOCO LTD/MURPHY FAMILY MOBILE PACE
TAXMAN - weakened leaving the final bend.
LETS GET TROPICAL - raced wide with cover from the 1100m.
EDGE SHEERAN - raced wide from the 1200m and without cover from the 1000m. Paced roughly near the 1000m and again in the run home.
THE HIGHLANDER - driver R Jenkins was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
WAVEWATCHER - raced wide early. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
BINGO BANGO - raced wide early.
LORD FANTASY - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
BROMAC HYPE - broke in the score up briefly hampering an outside runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
GET IT ON - briefly hampered in the score up however was in position at the start. Had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the middle stages of the run home.
FRIENDLY EYRE - weakened leaving the final bend.
KIRKMAN - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer T Neale advised the gelding had been racing without luck in recent starts and had benefited by being able to improve forward to lead in the middle stages today.
Race 9   ONELOG LTD WAIKOUAITI TROTTERS CUP (HANDICAP TROT)
WHISPERING OVER - weakened from the 400m.
CODY BANNER - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Trotted roughly for a distance passing the 700m losing ground. Broke again near the 400m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
MAUI - trainer D McCormick was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race with the incorrect number.
JIMMY CARTER - slow to begin.
Race 10   TEMUKA TRANSPORT WAIKOUAITI PACERS CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
DECEPTIVE LEE - over-raced for a distance passing the 2000m when being restrained to obtain cover after an unsuccessful challenge for the lead. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 250m.
HACKSAW RIDGE - broke passing the 250m hampering a trailing runner losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
COMMANDER BEN - over-raced middle stages.
LONE WOLF - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 11   McLELLAN FREIGHT LTD BALCLUTHA MOBILE PACE
BIG MAMA MORRIS - hung inwards racing into the first bend striking several track markers. Weakened leaving the final bend.
FRANCO MESSI - hampered leaving the final bend by a weakening runner.
TEMPO WARRIOR - retired from the race near the 1200m after the off side hopple connecting strap broke. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
ASIAN ELVIS - weakened leaving the final bend hampering a trailing runner.
CLASSIE LINC - over-raced early and middle stages.
FOURTH AMENDMENT - over-raced early stages when being restrained to the rear of the field.
CHRIS KYLE - raced wide early.
STILL ROCKIN - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1300m. Driver R Gutsell was warned for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
GOTTA ELECT BILL - paced roughly in the early stages. Again paced roughly passing the 200m.
MAMMA MIA - over-raced and paced roughly in the score up and through the early stages.

KD HAWK - held up early in the run home. Broke passing the 200m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
HANOVER DA MOON - hampered by a breaking runner near the 200m.
SHANDON BELLS - junior driver C Williamson was shown the replays and warned for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
