Race 1   STEARNE ROOFING / AYTO'S DAIRY MOBILE PACE
CALIFORNIA DREAMING - broke at the start losing ground. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts. Checked and fell to the track near the 400m dislodging driver C Ferguson from the sulky. CALIFORNIA DREAMING underwent a veterinary examination and was found to have some minor abrasions. Mr Ferguson was examined by the St John Paramedics and cleared to fulfil his remaining driving engagements.
STILTON LORD - driver T Robertson admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip & Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Robertson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including Sunday 11th February (2 days).
ROBYNS ART - checked near the 400m with driver M Hill being dislodged from the sulky. ROBYNS ART underwent a veterinary examination and was found to be uninjured in this incident. Driver M Hill was examined by the St John Paramedics and cleared to fulfil his remaining driving engagements.
CHEMMY - paced roughly and broke near the 400m resulting in several trailing runners being terminally checked, with two horses falling to the track. Stood down to complete one trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
THE MAESTRO - checked and fell to the track near the 400m dislodging driver B Orange. THE MAESTRO underwent a veterinary examination and was found to have blood present in the nose area consistent with its head having contacted the ground, with the gelding being transported from the track in the Horse Ambulance. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming. Driver B Orange was examined by the St John Paramedics and cleared to fulfil his remaining driving engagements.
BALTIC STAR - weakened from the 700m and broke near the 500m losing ground. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
Race 2   WAIAU VALLEY SHEARING/RIVERTON BUTCHERY TROT
GET ALONG - connections advised that the gelding has had his joints treated since last racing.
QUERCUS RUBRA - fractious prior to the start. Broke near the 1400m. Again broke near the 250m losing its chance. Driver B Norman was warned for the manner he drove over the concluding stages.
WATTLE HILL - fractious prior to the start.
HENNESSY - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts. Trotted roughly and weakened final bend.
FATHER ON DOWN - over-raced early stages.
HIGHLIGHT - trotted roughly in the run home.
STYRAX - broke near the 1200m losing all chance.
Race 3   COLUMBUS COFFEE/ROCKET HOSPO/RIVERTON SUPERVALUE MOB PACE
BILL MO - weakened from the 700m.
POUNAMU - driver N Williamson advised he did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
LA BAMBA - hampered near the 250m.
PEACE OF HEAVEN - slow to leave the pre-race formation and was back from position at the start. Lay in near the 250m hampering an inside runner.
Race 4   MATTHEW WILLIAMSON & NATHAN WILLIAMSON RACING STABLES TROT
SPEEDING SPIRIT - over-raced middle stages.
HEAVENLY STRINGS - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the event by driver C Ferguson.
TERROR COVE - broke after 100m losing all chance. Driver A Kyle defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that he drove carelessly after 150m when allowing his runner to shift down the track whilst in a gallop, checking a trailing runner which broke as a consequence and lost its chance. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from the Stewards and Mr Kyle the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and suspended Mr Kyle's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on Sunday 4th February up to and including Friday 23rd February (3 days).
MC SQUARED - broke at the start hampering an outside runner and losing ground. Broke again leaving the final bend.
HOT SAUCY BETTY - broke after negotiating the crossing near the 1600m losing ground.
JORDAN ANNE - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
SON OF THE CLEANER - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Hampered again and broke near the 700m losing all chance.
RUBY SEDDON - broke near the 400m.
TONY MAC - broke briefly near the 700m hampering an outside runner.
FIERY BANDITO - checked and broke after 150m losing all chance.

ASK ME LOU - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver A Kyle. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Paced roughly near the 1700m. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
MYDADTHETERROR - raced three wide with cover throughout.

LIVY DESMA - held up early stages of the run home.
TIMBIMBOO - connections advised that the gelding has had his joints treated since last racing. Broke near the 750m losing all chance. Stood down to complete two trials to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.

ITOJE - broke at the start losing ground.
HACKSAW RIDGE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 7   MACCA LODGE / SOUTHLAND FORKLIFT HIRE MOBILE PACE
BRIDGET LOUISE - placed in restricted room by an outside runner racing into the first bend contacting several track markers. Held up early stages of the run home.
HIGHT PATROL - lay in near the 1500m dislodging a track marker. Broke near the 600m losing all chance.
LOTTIE'S LUCK - briefly placed in restricted room near the 1600m. Weakened in the run home.
SUNSHINE MOMENT - lay in near the 1600m despite the efforts of driver C Ferguson placing inside runners in restricted room. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
EATMYDUST - slow to leave the pre-race formation and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
