Race 6 - GROVE TAVERN MOBILE PACE
Driver C Butt (MIDFREW LUCRE) admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Butt's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 21 January up to and including 26 January 2024 (2 days).
Race 7 - CABINS2UNZ HANDICAP PACE
Junior driver A Cameron (HES FAST AND FURIOUS), assisted by R May, admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Cameron's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 21 January up to and including 28 January 2024 (3 days).
Race 12 - THANKS TO VOLUNTEERS & MARLBOROUGH HRC COMMITTEE TROT

POPNROCK - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
CASITA BELLA - weakened final bend.
PORTELLI - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
BEVRON - driver P Davis was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
MIDNIGHT DIAMOND - broke after 100m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance.
DIEDRE FRANCO - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
SOLEMN SON - lay inwards and struck a track marker racing into the first bend before breaking and losing all chance.

ROCKCENT - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised in his opinion the mare had not backed up after racing on Friday.
RAKERO LIGHTNING - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
MEMORIES N HEAVEN - raced wide early.
DEAN JAMES - raced wide early.
VISCOUNT BANNER - raced wide throughout.

APATCHOFGOLD - raced wide early. A side carrier strap broke during the running. This gear was inspected and found to be taped and in previously good condition.

OUR PEGASUS PEARL - broke near the 100m losing its chance.
REINDEER TROUBLE - lay inwards in the run home and became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of COSMIC ANGEL which was shifting ground outwards near the 450m.
MAKE MY DAY - broke near the 1800m losing ground. Broke again near the 700m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
SODS LAW - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
Race 6   WALLACE DIACK ACCOUNTANTS MOBILE PACE
WATCH THAT MAN - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
TANE J J - held up early in the run home.
QUICKSMART - raced wide early.
GLENGARRY MOONLIGHT - over-raced middle stages. Held up early and middle stages of the run home. Placed in restricted room near the 100m when TANE J J (K Butt) shifted inwards. Stewards questioned driver T Williams (GLENGARRY MOONLIGHT) in relation to this and after hearing his explanation and viewing the films, Stewards were satisfied that Miss Butt's movement had commenced simultaneously to GLENGARRY MOONLIGHT taking up the position to the inside and no further action was warranted.
HEY TONIGHT - raced wide early.
HOPE FOR LOVE - over-raced early and raced wide throughout.
Race 7   SUPER LIQUOR GROVE ROAD & SPRINGLANDS HANDICAP PACE
EBURY STREET - held up over the concluding stages. Driver H Sail reported the removable deafeners were not activated in consequence.
STYLE COUNCIL - held up until late in the run home.
MARY LOU - lay inwards at various stages of the run home having to be steadied by driver J Cox and briefly came together with TIMES ARE A CHANGIN late in the run home.
HES FAST AND FURIOUS - broke at the start losing ground. Briefly jostled for a position with TIMES ARE A CHANGIN near the 2100m and momentarily locked wheels.
MICHAEL EYRE - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend.
TIMES ARE A CHANGIN - briefly jostled for a position with HES FAST AND FURIOUS near the 2100m and momentarily locked wheels. Raced wide from the 1100m. Briefly came together with MARY LOU which lay inwards late in the run home.
FOURTH AMENDMENT - over-raced middle stages. Held up early in the run home.
Race 8   SEDDON SHIELDS SERIES MARLBOROUGH TROTTERS CUP (HCP TROT)
IDLE STUARTIA - over-raced middle stages. Improved wide from the 500m.
GAZZA BEATT - weakened leaving the final bend.
BOYZ INVASION - began awkwardly.
MAKE MY SUNDON - weakened leaving the final bend.
ANNA'S BOY - weakened leaving the final bend. Driver B Hope advised he sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
MUSCLE BANK - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
Race 9   KAM TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE
ACENTO - late scratching at 11.15am on Veterinary advice.
TOKYO ROSE - driver S Ottley reported the sliding blinds were not activated due to having the field covered.
MAYSON SHARD - held up early in the run home.
Race 10   CABINS2U NZ (CANTERBURY) MARLBOROUGH PACERS CUP (HCP PACE)
DOUBLE TIME - held up early in the run home.
CHRIS KYLE - broke at the start losing ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Over-raced early stages.
BOUDICA - held up early in the run home.
LESTER - lay inwards leaving the final bend and early in the run home hampering an inside runner and having to be steadied by driver K Butt.
DASHING MAJOR - hampered by an outside runner leaving the final bend. Driver T Williams was questioned regarding his decision to shift ground outwards near the 350m instead of waiting for a run in the passing lane. Mr Williams advised the gelding had lay outwards on the point of the bend and instead of attempting to shift back inwards and lose momentum he continued to allow the horse to shift wider. Mr Williams added that he was aware the outside horses were improving sharply and he was conscious of being held up however once into the open the horse had been hampered shortly after and failed to respond to his urgings and proved disappointing. Stewards noted Mr Williams explanation and took the matter no further.
HOMEBUSH LAD - over-raced middle stages.
GET UP N DANCE - trainer B Butt was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race without the notified anti choke device. Paced roughly and lay inwards in the run home. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
DONMARO - broke at the start losing ground. Improved wide from the 500m.
MOSSDALE BEN - paced roughly in the run home.
Race 11   BLENHEIM SUN MOBILE PACE
ARDEN'S PURSUIT - held up early in the run home. Driver R Harrison advised the sliding blinds were not activated in consequence.
DELIGHTFUL REALITY - late scratching at 8.25am. Co-trainer S Telfer was issued a $200 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to scratch by the required time.
FRANCO TIM - held up early in the run home.
SOCIAL DISTANCING - over-raced middle stages. Weakened over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MILLWOOD INDIE - driver C Dalgety advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
