When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised the mare had travelled well during the running however had been disappointing over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to initially have a high heart rate however recovered well. | |
CRUISING FONTANA - shifted ground shortly after the start hampering MACANDREW MARKUP which broke in consequence. Driver A Milne defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that he drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from the Stewards the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proven and following submissions on penalty suspended Mr Milne's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on the 28th January up to and including the 4th February 2024 (2 days). | |

SAND WAVE - a post-race veterinary examination at the request of trainer/driver N Williamson revealed the gelding to have grade 1 lameness in the left fore leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming. Mr Williamson advised he will have a further veterinary examination conducted on the horse in the coming days which Stewards will follow up. |
