Mr Norman admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
BROWN EYED GIRL - broke briefly at the start before switching to a pace having to be broken up by driver M Hurrell, losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Placed on the Unruly at the request of trainer L Bond.
GET ALONG - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
COURTNEY MAY - broke passing the 700m losing its chance.
OUR SUPERFUND - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
STYRAX - trotted roughly through the early stages losing ground.
FATHER ON DOWN - broke passing the 800m losing all chance. Cleared from the Unruly for future standing starts.

BALTIC STAR - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts.
STEEL LEDGER - driver A Armour was warned for loose reining in the run home.
ROBUST EASTON - when spoken to regarding the perceived improved performance trainer B Norman advised that the gelding did not handle the tighter Roxburgh track at its previous start and had benefitted from a drop in class today.
DEMI DARLING - slow to begin and trailed the field throughout.

MIXED FAITH - broke briefly shortly after the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Hampered passing the 700m and broke losing ground.
TONY MAC - raced wide early stages. Trotted roughly throughout the run home.
IMPERIAL MAN - switched to a pace in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Paced again shortly after the start and continued for a considerable distance before being broken up by driver T Nally near the 700m to return to its correct gait hampering trailing runners and losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Junior driver T Nally, assisted by C Ferguson was shown the replays and questioned to as to why he allowed the gelding to pace for approximately 900m before taking any corrective action to return the horse to its correct gait. After hearing from Mr Nally, Stewards issued a charge under Rule 869(3)(a), which Mr Nally admitted, in that he drove incompetently at this stage of the race. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Nally's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including the 2nd February (7 days). Mr Nally was also spoken to advisedly with regard to restraining his runner resulting in trailing runners being hampered, when the better option was to take his horse clear of the field.
PAIGE - hampered passing the 700m.
SHEZA GIFT - lay in rounding the final bend.
KENNY'S CHARM - hampered passing the 700m.
KYLE LOCH - under pressure from the 900m and lost contact with the body of the field for a distance.
ERROL D - connections advised the gelding has had its hocks treated since last racing. Paced in the score up having to be broken up by driver M Hill and was back from the Unruly position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.

CHEMMY - trainer R Austin was warned after presenting the mare with blinds which were not notified. Broke in the score up losing all chance. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts.

Hung out at various stages throughout. Weakened final bend. Trainer E Swain advised he would be making gear changes prior to the gelding racing next.
MYDADTHETERROR - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver M Williamson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
TASHS BAD GIRL - over-raced through the middle stages. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 800m. Driver A Kyle admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing replays and considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $450.
CHEZZ DALE - weakened from the 800m hampering trailing runners and was retired from the event by driver K Larsen. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with trainer K Larsen in the coming days.
TAD LINCOLN - weakened final bend. Stood down to complete one trial in a competitive manner to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.

SALLY LINDENNY - connections advised the mare has been served since last racing. Broke at the start hampering a trailing runner which broke in consequence. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.

ABADABADO - held up and contacted a track marker near the 150m only gaining clear racing room over the concluding stages. Driver B Orange was issued with a warning for contacting a track marker.

CAPTAIN STARLIGHT - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.

ITOJE - raced wide early. Paced roughly in the middle stages of the run home.
DANCING DESIRE - broke near the 1300m however soon settled before breaking again near the 1100m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.

JENNY GUMP - junior driver O Thornley, who declined the assistance of a senior driver, admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly near the 850m when shifting ground, striking the sulky wheel of the weakening WHATA RAZZLE DAZZLE, resulting in the tyre puncturing. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
