Trainer G McClymont advised Stewards on 4th January that STYRAX has had its hocks treated since last racing.

Trainer J Douglas advised Stewards on 4th January that MAGIC SIGN has been treated for a blood disorder since last racing.

Race 10 - MATAURA LICENSING TRUST GORE PACING CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
BOUDICA - when asked to comment on the performance trainer T Thomas advised he was not overly disappointed with the run given the fast overall time of the race. Mr Thomas added the mare has been working well since and it was his intention to continue on with its current preparation.
Trainer M Jones advised Stewards that DENY EVERYTHING following its disappointing performance has recovered well and its their intention to continue with its current preparation.

TAD LINCOLN - lay out in the score up. Hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
ARLO MAGUIRE - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
SLY TRICKS - lay in early stages of the run home. Driver A Beecroft was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and in a continuous manner in the run home.
WOLFENSTEIN - weakened rounding the final bend hampering trailing runners.
NYLA - lay in first bend. Raced wide early stages. Held up final bend. Lay out in the run home having to be straightened by driver M Maynard.
SEARING LIGHT - slow to leave the pre-race formation however was in position at the start.
Race 2   KEA WAI BUILDING LTD TROT
EYRE I WILL - broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Again broke near the 1300m losing its chance.
STEVE - trotted roughly rounding the final bend. Driver B Norman reported the removable deafeners failed to release due to the cord becoming entangled. Mr Norman will be spoken to in the coming days regarding the manner he used his whip in the run home.
SLIPPERY MISTRESS - broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Again broke near the 1200m losing its chance.
JUDICATE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Again broke near the 1300m losing its chance.
Race 3   MARSH'S HONEY/DION MORRELL SHEARING/MARK REID MOB PACE
SCRUFFY - broke as the start was effected losing its chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
EDGE SHEERAN - paced roughly over the concluding stages.
WHO'S BETTOR - lay inwards and struck track markers rounding the final bend when weakening. Driver B Norman was warned for using his whip on a runner out of contention.
LA MOTH - raced wide early stages.
SWEET SPIRIT - briefly hampered as the start was effected.
Race 4   FLANNERY TAIT / SGT DAN STOCKFOODS MOBILE PACE
SPRED SHEET - hung outwards and broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Again broke near the 1500m hampering trailing runners and was retired from the event by driver G Shand. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
HERITAGE - weakened from the 500m.
ROBYNS ART - broke near the 350m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
ROBYN X - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1500m.
LEDGER'S MAID - held up for clear racing room through the middle stages of the run home.
FREEDOMS BEAUTY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1500m.
THE MAESTRO - held up leaving the final bend and early stages of the run home. When question regarding the improved performance driver R McIlwrick advised that the gelding had received a good run and was suited by the smaller track.

ALIBI - paced roughly final bend.
WILLISON - weakened final bend.
Race 6   REMARKABLES ORCHARD / NEW WORLD ALEXANDRA MOBILE PACE
SASSY ART - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
RAKADEAKS - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
AURORA BOREALIS - lay inwards at various stages. Weakened from the 800m and was retired from the event by driver M Williamson. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
VINITA ROSE - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
ROBUST EASTON - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
THREEBEERSDEEP - over-raced early stages. Driver S O'Reilly reported she did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.

AARDIE B MIKI - driver T Williams reported he did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
FIRST LIGHT - over-raced middle stages.
MALLORY MAGUIRE - held up throughout the run home.
CASERTA FRANCO - placed in restricted room near the 900m when an outside runner shifted ground inwards.
ADDISON MARIE - driver J Cox was warned for the manner that he shifted ground near the 900m.
ASK ME LAZARUS - weakened final bend.
KENSI - over-raced middle stages.
Race 8   VAN DER VOORT FAMILY / HARLIWICH HOLDINGS MOBILE PACE
WHATA RAZZLE DAZZLE - hampered by a weakening runner near the 600m.
SINAI SERMON - raced wide early. Lay in when racing three wide near the 400m and locked sulky wheels with the weakening ROCKIN VA VA, hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the entire. Notwithstanding his horse was laying in at this stage of the race, junior driver K Bublitz, assisted by M Williamson, was spoken to advisedly regarding the manner he drove near the 400m when activating gear.
SEA FURY - weakened from the 600m hampering a trailing runner. Hampered near the 400m.
LOGAN ROCK - hampered near the 400m.
ROCKIN VA VA - lay out racing into the first bend. Locked sulky wheels with SINAI SERMON near the 400m when commencing to weaken.
MAGNETIC BECKERS - broke entering the first bend losing considerable ground. Hampered near the 400m.
Race 9   RUGGEDY CHARTERS HANDICAP TROT
IMPERIAL MAN - trainer J Ryan was warned for presenting the gelding without the notified blinds and pacifier. Trotted roughly on the bend near the 800m.
VERTIGO - trotted roughly first bend.
SWITCH ON - broke near the 2300m when attempting to shift an inside runner down the track when not in a position to do so. Driver M Hurrell admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $400. Weakened final bend.
Race 10   PETERS GENETICS ROXBURGH CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
WATTLEBANK ARNIE - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
DECEPTIVE LEE - late scratching on veterinary advice at 10.50am.
STEP IT UP A NOTCH - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages.
ROBYNS PLAYBOY - forced to race wide from the 700m.
SAGWITCH - broke at the start losing ground.
Race 11   RITCHIE McDONALD & VAL WHYTE MEMORIAL TROT
MISS GRACIE - broke racing into the first bend hampering a trailing runner. Stood down to trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
BLITHE - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
KENNY'S CHARM - lay inwards and struck track markers near the 1600m. Lay inwards again when weakening rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner.
SPEEDING SPIRIT - broke near the 1700m losing ground.
SASSY STAR - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Broke over the concluding stages.
Race 12   COMBINED SPONSORS MOBILE PACE
STICKIFINGERS - the offside sulky wheel discs came loose during the running.
MEGHAN MARKLE - weakened from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a poor recovery. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
PRIDES CONTESSA - raced wide in the early stages.
OLIVES DREAM - driver C Hackett was warned for using her whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
CLOSE - paced roughly on the bend near the 900m. Broke near the 700m losing ground.
SHEZZA VINNY - weakened final bend.
