Trainer D Butcher advised Stewards on 03 January that blood tests taken from HOORAY HENRY had revealed an irregularity with the gelding to be freshened before resuming.

Race 1   THE RAILWAY HOTEL MOBILE PACE
CONOR MCGREGOR - obtained an inside run over the concluding stages when CHALLENGER shifted ground outwards.
CARRERA SUNSHINE - weakened in the run home.
CALI FRANCO - broke and went down on its knees late in the score up and was retired from the race. Declared a non-runner by Stewards under Rule 213(1)(j) on the grounds of being denied a fair start. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
CHALLENGER - shifted out when under pressure over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the performance driver D Ferguson advised the gelding may not have been helped by the confusion in the early stages as to whether a start had been declared, however, had still received every opportunity. Mr Ferguson added that he felt that the horse may not have backed up from its run at the Wairarapa meeting on the 02 January.
Starter G Phillips was shown the replay and reminded of his obligations in relation to declaring a false start.
Race 2   KAPITI COAST HRC MEMBERS & SUPPORTERS MOB PACE
A false start was declared at the first attempt when ONETANGI GIRL broke in the middle stages of the score up checking a runner on the second line. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver J Abernethy elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart.
ONETANGI GIRL - hampered rounding the first turn.
PENNYS FIRST FLIGHT - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
MISS WOODVILLE - hampered rounding the first turn. Over-raced middle stages. Raced wide without cover from the 1100m.
CARBON - raced wide early.
SHARKNTATTIES - raced greenly rounding the first turn hampering trailing runners.
ROCKIN ROMAN - raced wide early. Weakened over the concluding stages. Driver A Harrison reported the gelding had cast the off fore shoe during the running.
PERUN - raced wide early.
BLAZE MAGUIRE - weakened over the concluding stages.
Race 3   MONK FAMILY MOBILE PACE
VINCENTS GIRL - weakened from the 600m.
TICKING OVER - broke in the score up and was back from position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke again near the 1150m when trailing the field.
COTE D'AZUR - over-raced throughout.
MALEFICENCE - raced erratically throughout the run home causing driver A Poutama difficulty.
QUICKSMART - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ANN OFATHOUSAND BAYS - raced wide early.
LUKA DONCIC - settled towards the rear and raced wide final bend. When questioned regarding the performance Co-trainer/driver D Ferguson advised he felt the gelding failed to handle the grass track.
Race 4   RODEWALD CONSULTING MOBILE PACE
PRIVATE EYE - held up for clear racing room until passing the 150m.
PETER FORSBERG - shifted outwards under pressure over the concluding stages.
CONSTANCE CLAIRE - over-raced middle stages.
GREATER GOOD - obtained an inside run near the 250m when PETER FORSBERG shifted outwards.
SANTANNA MACH - over-raced middle stages.
Race 5   THE TELE, OTAKI MOBILE PACE
CASSIUS CLYDE - paced roughly for several strides when the start was declared. Shifted out under pressure in the run home despite the efforts of driver J Dickie. Notwithstanding this Mr Dickie was advised that he would be expected to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home in future.
MEDINA MAGIC - improved to the lead then trailed from the 1300m before weakening over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the early signs of a respiratory infection. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
VICTOR BRAVO - over-raced middle stages.
RUN MASON RUN - held up over the concluding stages.
Race 6   GRANT PLUMBING WELLINGTON CUP HANDICAP TROT
The start was briefly delayed due to HENRIK LUNDQVIST becoming fractious.
HENRIK LUNDQVIST - weakened final turn.
STORMS ACOMING - slow in the early stages losing ground.
KISS MY PIXEL - held up near the 300m.
CASHEM - commenced to weaken near the 900m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
THANK YOU - broke approaching the 2000m losing ground before settling. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
KINGSCLERE - broke rounding the first turn losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
MANCHESTER IN TIME - broke passing the 400m but soon settled.
SLAINTE - broke near the 350m but soon settled.
HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - slow in the early stages adding to its 50m handicap. Broke racing over the crossing passing the 1700m losing all chance.
GAZ MAN - when questioned regarding the performance driver D Ferguson advised he was disappointed with the performance and added that the gelding would be freshened before resuming.
Race 7   AMERICAN ME OTAKI CUP HANDICAP PACE
There was a 4 minute delay to the start due to the crash crew being delayed in arriving at the start.
MR KAPLAN - raced keenly middle stages when trailing the leader. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Cameron advised the mare had received every opportunity.
