Race 1   BECKERS TRANSPORT / FLOORING XTRA MOBILE PACE
HALEY ROBYN - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B White. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Raced three wide for a distance from the 1100m. Weakened from the 500m.
NYLA - lay inwards over the concluding stages having to be straightened by driver M Maynard.
ROCKIN VA VA - hung outwards racing into the first bend.
GOMA DALE - paced roughly before breaking near the 1500m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up the recovery of GOMA DALE with trainer T Stratford in the coming days.
OFF THE EDGE - paced roughly passing the 1000m then stumbled and broke briefly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver A Edge was warned for using his whip free of the rein in the run home. Mr Edge was also spoken to advisedly to ensure he maintains a straight course in the run home.
Following the race Stewards inspected the area of the track where OFF THE EDGE had stumbled and were satisfied the track was not at fault.
Race 2   JIM LOVE MEMORIAL TROT
SPECIAL EFFECTS - held up through the early and middle stages of the run home.
STORM CLOUD - lay inwards rounding the final bend.
HAIL STONE - over-raced when being restrained to take cover in the early stages.
COURTNEY MAY - trotted roughly on various occasions during the running.
BULLIT TRAIN - slow to begin.
TO HILL AND BACK - broke at the start losing all chance.
Race 3   OMAKAU AUTO CENTRE / OMAKAU FUEL SERVICES MOBILE PACE
JUSTA LILY - weakened final bend.
RURAL CASH - weakened final bend. Driver O Thornley reported the offside hopple shortener did not activate due to the breaking. The gear was inspected and found to be in previous good condition.
MONTAGE - over-raced near the 1200m.
GUNNER ANDY - raced greenly and attempted to ease up near the 1200m.
THE HIGHFLYER - raced wide early stages.
THE MANTIS - raced wide from the 500m.
SCOTT - held up early stages of the run home. Paced roughly near the 75m having to be restrained.
SPRED SHEET - broke in the score up and failed to settle losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
MIGHTY MIKI - lay inwards throughout the run home having to be straightened by driver M Williamson.
ULTIMATE WEAPON - raced wide through the early and middle stages. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver N Williamson advised that despite racing wide in the early and middle stages he was disappointed with the effort of the gelding and could offer no explanation.
BUILT FOR GLORY - raced wide through the early and middle stages. Lay inwards throughout the run home having to be straightened by driver T Williams.
THE MANTIS - connections advised the gelding has been treated for a respiratory infection since last racing.
Race 4   MACCA LODGE / CRAIG & MARIE McNEIL MOBILE PACE
CARAVELLA GLOW - paced roughly rounding the final before breaking, losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
KASHI - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
SPECTATOR - late scratching on veterinary advice at 7.30am. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
ROSIE RICHTER - over-raced through the middle stages.
LITTLE BIDDY - broke passing the 1700m losing considerable ground.
Race 5   ALEXANDRA FOUR SQUARE / HARNESS RACING UNHINGED MOB PACE
SOUTHERN STARR - paced roughly at various stages of the run home.
TAXMAN - held up final bend.
MAYSON SHARD - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
DALNESS ARIZONA - weakened final bend.
ONELOVEONELIFE - raced wide early.
CAPTAIN MEISTER - sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 650m. Driver K Green was warned for the manner in which she shifted ground at this stage of the race. In assessing this matter Stewards took into account there were no consequential effects.
Race 6   PROPERTY BROKERS / LUKE CUNLIFFE BUILDER MOBILE PACE
FERGALICIOUS - held up through the middle stages of the run home.
TARTAN RAIDER - raced wide from the 700m.
ALMIGHTY CLEVER - sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 800m after being shifted wider on the track when weakening, simultaneous to the trailing CLASSIC MISSION shifting ground inwards. After hearing from drivers C Dalgety (ALMIGHTY CLEVER) and K Tomlinson (CLASSIC MISSION), Stewards were satisfied no one horse or driver was at fault and accordingly took the matter no further. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no obvious abnormality.
RAKAMURPH - when questioned regarding the performance driver O Kite advised the gelding had raced lethargically throughout. Stewards will follow up with trainer N Williamson in the coming days.
BOBBIES ROCK - weakened final bend.
Race 7   W S HICKEY MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT
LIGHT OF DA MOON - weakened from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination including an endoscopy revealed no obvious abnormality. Connections will have further diagnostic tests conducted on the mare in the coming days which Stewards will follow up.
KRACKALING - late scratching on veterinary advice at 8.35am. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
JORDAN ANNE - hampered by a weakening runner near the 600m.
VERTIGO - began awkwardly.
SHEZA GIFT - raced wide early. Broke passing the 1200m when challenging for the lead, losing ground. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 600m.
MAJESTIC LOVE - hampered at the start.
Race 8   DAVE COCKBURN CONSTRUCTION / CENTRAL LAKES AUTO HCP TROT
MM SUNSHINE - broke after 200m losing all chance.
SINNER COOL - trotted roughly rounding the first bend losing ground. Weakened from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be showing signs of muscle tie-up. Stewards will follow up with trainer R Holmes in the coming days.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - weakened final bend.
MISS GRACIE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke again rounding the first bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
WHAT THE BELL - broke at the start losing all chance.
FIERY BANDITO - slow over the early stages. Lay inwards simultaneously to TOP POCKET CHANCE laying outwards rounding the final bend with both runners coming together. After hearing from drivers K Green (FIERY BANDITO) and S O'Reilly (TOP POCKET CHANCE), Stewards could not apportion blame to anyone horse or driver, accordingly no further action was required.
SASSY STAR - broke briefly at the start.
MAJESDIX - lay outwards in the early stages of the run home having to be straightened by driver M Williamson. Cleared from the Unruly for future standing starts.
Race 9   RANFURLY TRANSPORT LTD / RD PETROLEUM FFA (MOBILE PACE)
FRANCO INDIE - over-raced middle stages.
OHOKA CONNOR - raced wide early.
Race 10   ANDREW MAY CONTRACTING / ALEXANDRA NEW WORLD FFA MOB TROT
MAUI - held up near the 100m.
ROYDON MUSCLE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened final bend.
AVEROSS MAJESTY - broke rounding the final bend losing its chance.
SMOKIN BANDAR - driver C Ferguson accidentally dropped a rein near the 50m when driving the gelding out.
Race 11   MAINLAND MINERALS / AGRICENTRE SOUTH MOBILE PACE
AINT NO ANGEL - over-raced middle stages.
HARRISON - had to be steadied near the 1400m when there was an easing of the pace.
OUTBACK MAN - had to be steadied near the 1400m when there was an easing of the pace.
BEACH FLYBYE - the required Veterinary Clearance was received. Had to be steadied near the 1400m when there was an easing of the pace. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised he was not disappointed given it was the gelding's first up run after a six-month break and the horse would derive considerable benefit from today's outing.
JIMMYRAY - held up over the concluding stages. Driver J Morrison was issued with a warning for the manner he eased the pace near the 1400m resulting in trailing runners being hampered.
WATERMELON SUGAR - hung outwards then over-raced and broke racing into the first bend when there was an easing of the pace. Raced wide from the 700m. Despite the easing of the pace driver C Dalgety advised the horse had been racing keenly at this stage of the race and he would be recommending gear changes.
