LIGHTNING MCQUEEN - raced clear in the lead through the middle stages. Driver J Abernethy advised he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled. | |

CONRAD H - broke passing the 50m hampering a trailing runner. When questioned regarding the performance Driver Z Meredith advised that he had encountered difficulty making up ground on the strong tempo being set. | |

BEV THE GOAT - broke in the early stages of the score up however was in position at the candy pole. Paced roughly and then broke near the 300m locking wheels with PAPENHUYZEN checking trailing runners and lost all chance. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners. | |
CAROLINA MOON - over-raced rounding the first turn and was then checked near the 1800m when having to be restrained off the back of AMERICAN ROCKER and paced roughly for several strides. Held up rounding the final turn. Checked and broke passing the 300m losing all chance. | |
SEA OF LOVE - Co-trainers D & C McGowan were warned for presenting the filly to race without the notified blinds. Checked and broke passing the 300m losing all chance. | |
AMERICAN ROCKER - had to be steadied off the back of SEA OF LOVE near the 1800m checking a trailing runner. Junior driver N Delany (assisted by L Hollis) was shown the replay and issued with a warning for the manner in which he drove in this incident. Checked when having to take evasive action near the 300m. | |
Following this race the track was downgraded to Slushy. |

BET WEST - Junior driver N Delany (assisted by L Hollis) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion rounding the final turn and early in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Delany's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 4 January up to and including 26 January 2024 (4 days). |

SHESGOLD - lay in and contacted a track marker passing the 1800m and again near the 1750m with a track marker being dislodged. Driver T Mitchell was issued a warning for contacting a track marker near the 200m when activating gear. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Mitchell advised the filly had raced keenly during the running but had disappointed over the final stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. | |
