BOMBAY GLACIER - paced roughly and lay inwards just prior to the start inconveniencing an inside runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Raced wide early. Over-raced and became awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of WESTAR MOLLY which was being eased near the 1700m and broke briefly, losing ground. After hearing from drivers J Cox (WESTAR MOLLY) and A Armour (BOMBAY GLACIER), Stewards were satisfied that no one driver was at fault and took the matter no further. | |

SELF ASSURED - Authorisation of placings was withheld until the Stewards had reviewed footage of the start to determine whether SELF ASSURED had gained an advantage when improving its position from the inside of the 20m line by utilising the expanded inside lane at the start. After viewing the replays and speaking with driver M Purdon it was established that BEACH BALL which had drawn position one on the 10m line had started wider on the track and when the start was effected SELF ASSURED, which had begun well, was forced inwards by BEACH BALL which shifted ground inwards shortly after the start. After viewing replays and hearing from Mr Purdon placings were duly authorised. |
