The start was delayed due to ONE EL becoming fractious and requiring a change of sulky after breaking a shaft. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
The start was further delayed when KERRALLY and SIGNAL HILL also became fractious.
BELLA LINDENNY - broke near the 1600m hampering trailing runners losing ground. Raced wide from the 1000m. Weakened leaving the final bend.
HERE COMES JANE - began awkwardly. Broke passing the 75m.
TRANSTASMAN BUBBLE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m.
KERRALLY - trotted roughly shortly after the start and again on several occasions during the running. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m.
BRIANNA - broke at the start losing ground.
MUSICAL TRIX - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m. Broke again near the 100m. Driver P Wakelin was issued a warning for using her whip on a runner out of contention.
SIGNAL HILL - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m. Broke near the 1100m after a slight easing of the pace losing all chance.
Race 2   TEMUKA TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE
LEWEY MAGUIRE - paced roughly passing the 1600m hampering a trailing runner. Severely checked when FLYING FOR ME shifted inwards abruptly near the 200m and broke losing all chance.
MORERE - severely checked and broke near the 200m when FLYING FOR ME shifted inwards abruptly losing ground. Promoted from 5th to 4th placing following a protest.
SAMVASA - hampered near the 1600m. Checked near the 200m when FLYING FOR ME shifted inwards abruptly.
THE MANDALORIAN - driver R Holmes admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Holmes' driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 17 December 2023 (3 days).
FLYING FOR ME - shied and shifted inwards abruptly near the 200m checking MORERE, LEWEY MAGUIRE and SAMVASA. Stewards lodged a protest against 3rd placing being awarded to FLYING FOR ME (L O'Reilly) under Rule 869A(2) alleging interference to MORERE (W House) placed 5th which broke near the 200m. Driver L O'Reilly did not contest the protest and after viewing the replays the Adjudicative Committee relegated FLYING FOR ME to 5th placing. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
VINCHETTO - hampered near the 200m.
CASERTA FRANCO - raced wide early. Broke near the 400m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
STRIKE ME HANDSOME - out of position at the start. Driver G Hunt was issued with a warning. Held up early in the run home.
Race 3   FOUR PEAKS TRANSPORT PACE
I SPY DIAMONDS - held up late in the run home.
SOMACHBETTOR - fractious prior to the start. Broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
KAIRAKI DELIGHT - weakened rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised the gelding had been unsuited to racing parked throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
THE FINISHER - broke after 100m and shifted inwards abruptly losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Paced roughly rounding the final bend and broke again near the 300m losing all chance. A warning was also placed on the racing record of the gelding.
MY SKATJIE - paced roughly in the early stages. Again paced roughly near the 400m.
THE NIGHT FOX - raced wide without cover from the 800m.
FRANCO NEWPORT - held up final bend. Paced roughly in the run home.

HI HOPES - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
MARY LOU - weakened leaving the final bend.

A ROCKN TO THE BLUES - driver J Versteeg admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly by shifting ground inwards shortly after the start when insufficiently clear of LILY'S A STAR which was checked and broke. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Versteeg's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 15 December 2023 (2 days).
GOOD TIME BETTY - raced wide early.
SHAPELY - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Paced roughly late in the run home before breaking shortly after the finishing line. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the filly had been in the correct gait when its nose reached the finish line.
HOOROO - lay inwards throughout the run home causing driver J Cox some difficulty.
Race 5   DON STENHOUSE MEMORIAL TROT
TARUKENGA - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start.
FEEL THE MOMENT - held up early in the run home. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer T Yesberg advised the gelding had responded well to a number of gear changes today and has raced well previously on the grass.
AIGUILLE - broke at the start losing all chance.
COSMIC ANGEL - held up early in the run home.
DD'S SUPER STUART - raced wide early. Held up until late in the run home.
DIDJABRINGTHEBUBBLES - raced wide early.
PATRICK SWAYZE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
LUNAR ROSA - broke near the 1700m losing all chance.

MADELEINE STOWE - hampered final bend by a weakening runner.

MONARCH PRINCE - hampered final bend by a weakening runner. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 200m.
SUNNY LOUIS - trotted roughly leaving the final bend. Driver B Orange advised he sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
HOLLY HIGHLANDER - hampered final bend by a weakening runner. Broke near the 200m hampering a trailing runner.
BARRYTOWN - broke briefly at the start. Raced wide from the 1400m. Trainer G Telfer was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after the crupper came adrift near the 900m.
HELLOVEAMOMENT - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver S Ottley advised the gelding had broken at its last start however races well on grass tracks and had received an economical run throughout.
BENNIE AND THE JETS - raced wide early.
KAWHI - over-raced early and middle stages.
MAINBOCHER - raced wide early. Broke near the 250m briefly hampering a trailing runner with the gelding casting a bell boot while in a break.
BONEY M - broke after 100m losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 1400m losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer G Hunt.
EYRE I WILL - hampered final bend by a weakening runner. Briefly hampered by a breaking runner near the 200m.
DWINDLE STAR - raced wide early. Weakened leaving the final bend hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance driver M Williamson advised the mare was obliged to work hard in the early and middle stages to improve to the lead with the effort taking its toll.

TAKEMYBREATHAWAY - over-raced early and middle stages. Held up middle stages of the run home.
PINSEEKER - raced wide middle stages. Hung outwards throughout the run home.
STAR MAGIC - raced wide from the 1200m. Weakened from the 400m.

MAREN FRANCO - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened from the 500m hampering a trailing runner. Driver L O'Reilly advised the mare had failed to settle when in the parked position throughout.
DENY EVERYTHING - hampered by a weakening runner near the 500m.
HERE'S HERBIE - driver J Curtin advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
SHE'S TOUGH - tangled away. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 500m.

FRANCO INDIE - paced roughly near the 700m when commencing to improve three wide having to be steadied. Shifted outwards and paced roughly in the early stages of the run home and was immediately corrected by driver B Orange.

ACENTO - paced roughly in the run home. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer D Thompson advised the mare had appreciated a return to grass track racing.
AMERICAN SNIPER - broke passing the 1600m losing ground.
ROCKNROLL DIVA - connections advised the mare would be racing in foal.
SARGENT BEST - broke near the 300m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
IDEAL DELIGHT - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Driver J Dunn advised the filly would be restricted to all weather surfaces where possible in the immediate future.
OLIVES DREAM - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
Race 11   ECOLAB HANDICAP TROT
A false start was declared when MAUI backed away prior to the start interfering with a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver D McCormick elected to start from his allocated position for the restart. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
ZSA ZOE - breasted the barrier strand just prior to the restart being effected resulting in the tape failing to clear this runner. Hampered by a weakening runner passing the 500m. Held up early in the run home. Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 859(3) alleging the mare had started in advance of its correct barrier position. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and driver S Tomlinson the Adjudicative Committee upheld the protest and ZSA ZOE was disqualified from 6th placing and declared a late scratching. Miss Tomlinson defended an associated charge under Rule 859(2) alleging she allowed her runner to start in advance of its correct barrier position. After viewing the replays and hearing the evidence, the Adjudicative Committee upheld the charge and Miss Tomlinson's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 10 December up to and including 15 December 2023 (2 days).
CORMORAN STRIKE - hampered by a weakening runner passing the 500m.
JESPER FAST - weakened leaving the final bend.
MASTERLY - raced wide early. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home. Trotted roughly passing the 50m having to be steadied.
A HILL TWO MENNY - held up early in the run home.
PARIS PRINCE - fractious prior to the start. Reared as the restart was effected and broke losing all chance.
GREENBANK DON - weakened from the 500m hampering trailing runners. Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 859(3) alleging the gelding had started in advance of its correct barrier position on the 10 metre line. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and driver G Smith the Adjudicative Committee upheld the protest and disqualified GREENBANK DON from 13th placing and the horse was declared a late scratching. Mr Smith defended an associated charge under Rule 859(2) alleging he allowed his runner to start in advance of its correct barrier position. After viewing the replays and hearing the evidence, the Adjudicative Committee upheld the charge and Mr Smith's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 10 December up to and including 15 December 2023 (2 days).
