Race 1   THE BOX SEAT HOT 2 TROT SERIES HEAT 1 HANDICAP TROT
BRIENNE - broke passing the 100m. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
IT AIN'T ME BABE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners.
THE RIVER BOY - fractious prior to the start. Raced wide early before securing a position in the running line but was then left without cover from the 1200m. When questioned regarding the performance Driver M White stated that he was satisfied with the run given the amount of work the gelding had been required to do over the early and middle stages.
TAYLAD TO USE - broke passing the 350m losing its chance.
SHESGOLD - lay in at various stages. Broke near the 50m when in restricted room.
KIMKAR DASH - held up for clear running late in the home straight.
Race 2   PEBBLE BEACH NEW AT ALABAR MOBILE PACE
SPIRITED PEGGY - weakened final turn and lay in dislodging a track marker.
SLOTS - Driver M McKendry reported that only one deafener released despite his efforts. When questioned regarding the performance Co-trainer S Telfer stated that he was satisfied with the 2yo's run given that the colt had raced greenly rounding the final turn.
ROMAN ROCK - late scratching at 10.59am on veterinary advice
CHANGE TACT - raced keenly through the middle stages.
Race 3   GREE HEAT PUMPS MOBILE PACE
BENSON DUDE - paced roughly for several strides passing the 1800m. Unable to hold the back of SUNSHINE SHELBY near the 800m which enabled MCKENDRICK to shift down to fill the position. Hampered when held up by a weakening runner rounding the final turn and raced in restricted room for some strides losing further ground.
FIFTH AND FINAL - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner and lost ground. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
ALWAYS B STUNNING - hampered shortly after the start by a breaking runner.
SUNSHINE SHELBY - over-raced middle stages when leading.
MCKENDRICK - weakened rounding the final turn hampering a trailing runner and lay in contacting a track marker. When questioned regarding the performance Driver T Herlihy could offer no explanation for the disappointing run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
ONYX SHARD - paced roughly near the 800m when at the rear. Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn and paced roughly for several strides.
Race 4   THE BOX SEAT HOT 2 TROT SERIES HEAT 2 HANDICAP TROT
MATTY A - unable to hold the back of CYCLONE LUCKY LINDA near the 1050m which enabled KISS AND RUN to shift down to fill the position.
ROMEO FOXTROT - underwent a veterinary examination after having raced at the Cambridge meeting last evening and was cleared to start. Broke for several strides shortly after the start.
GAZ MAN - raced wide from the 850m. When questioned regarding the performance Driver B Butcher confirmed that racing wide had taken its toll.
Race 5   CADUCEUS CLUB NORTHERN BREEDERS STAKES MOBILE PACE
MHAI SURFER GIRL - Driver M White admitted a charge under Rule 869(7A)(a) in that he allowed his filly to shift inwards in the run home contacting track markers. The Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $150.
ARTISAN - raced keenly early stages.
WHISPERING ARTIST - over-raced middle stages.
AARDIE'S EXPRESS - raced wide early when at the rear.
Race 6   NZ STAFF MOBILE PACE
NELSON'S BOY - slow early.
BETTOR HEIST - held up early final turn.
JETHRO BODINE - weakened final turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had suffered a bleeding attack. Stood down for the mandatory 30 days pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic procedure prior to completing one satisfactory trial.
MONTANA D J - Driver Z Butcher was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
HOORAY HENRY - held up early final turn.
Race 7   CREATINE AT NEVELE R STUD TROT
MARIA THERESA - hampered by a breaking runner near the 400m. Driver S Argue was issued with a warning for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion near the 200m.
OWN THE MOMENT - stumbled and broke near the 400m hampering a trailing runner and lost all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
MAJESTIC BUNDY - pre-race warmed.
EYE LOVE YOU - trotted roughly shortly after the start losing ground.
DOLLY P - broke at the start losing all chance.
Race 8   CAPTAIN CRUNCH AT ALABAR MOBILE PACE
D J ROCK - lay in at various stages despite Driver M McKendry's efforts contacting track markers and in particular rounding the final turn when racing over several while losing ground when being corrected. Shifted in and raced over the final track marker late in the run home. Stewards were satisfied that no unfair advantage had been gained in either of the latter two incidents and placings were duly authorised. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
MAHIA DREAMIN - contacted and dislodged a track marker near the 1750m.
