Due to a traffic accident on the Rakaia Bridge causing significant delays to trainers and drivers travelling to the meeting the race programme was put back 2 races. The new start times for Races 9 and 10 were 6.10pm and 6.41pm respectively.

KNOWING ME - fractious prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Hampered final bend by a weakening runner.
BRIANNA - broke briefly near the 2100m losing ground.
GET ALONG - hung inwards final bend when weakening striking track markers and hampering a trailing runner. Trotted roughly passing the 150m. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Cox advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
CREATING KASH - broke briefly at the start then broke again after 100m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Connections advised they would give consideration to freshening the gelding before resuming.
SCHOEMAKER - broke near the 800m losing all chance.
ZEKE - pre-race warmed. Raced wide early.
BULLIT TRAIN - weakened near the 700m.
Race 2   TRANSWORX SOUTH ISLAND MOBILE PACE
MAJOR DISRUPTION - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S Thornley. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
MORERE - held up throughout the run home. Driver W House advised the removable deafeners and sliding blinds were not activated in consequence.
PATIRO - raced wide early.
DIDJASEEMIKI - held up early in the run home.
EYELINER - raced wide middle stages.
GOOD TIME BETTY - raced wide without cover from the 1000m.
OLIVES DREAM - raced wide early. Raced wide with cover from the 1000m. When questioned regarding the improved performance co-trainer T White advised they had shortened the length of the filly's hopples since its last start when pacing roughly.
THE BETTOR MAJOR - a spreader broke during the running. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
Race 3   BROWN & SHIPMAN 1969 LTD PACE
PACIFIC THUNDER - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hampered near the 600m by a weakening runner.
BELMONT INFERNO - hung inwards rounding the first bend striking track markers. Hung inwards when weakening final bend.
DESTINY'S DREAM - broke at the start losing ground. Hung inwards through the middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend.
FESTUS HAGGEN - broke at the start losing ground.
LAMARLI - trainer S Payne advised the mare has been treated for a lung infection since last racing.
FRANCO NEWPORT - driver C Thornley was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for being late to present his runner onto the track. Over-raced middle stages. Raced wide from the 1400m. Weakened from the 600m hampering trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
BALLYGAR - checked by a breaking runner after 150m. Raced wide with cover from the 1000m. Hampered near the 600m by a weakening runner. Driver J Morrison reported the gelding had over-raced in the early stages causing him difficulty when attempting to avoid a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
AUDACITY - broke at the start losing ground. Held up by a weakening runner final bend.
MEMORIES N HEAVEN - broke after 150m checking a trailing runner losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
Race 4   TIMARU CURRY CLUB MOBILE TROT
FEEL THE MOMENT - trotted roughly in the early stages. Again trotted roughly over the concluding stages and had to be steadied.
CLYDE - broke in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened from the 500m.
BET N WIN - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1300m.
HANOVER DA MOON - raced wide early.
ELIZABETH HILL - weakened from the 500m. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised the filly had raced lethargically throughout and been disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery with some foot soreness. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
BUFFY NORTHSTAINS - held up early in the run home.
MUSCLE SASS - hung inwards and broke near the 450m losing all chance.
SASSY STAR - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
MISS GRACIE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
Race 5   GALLAGHER TRADE BUILDING HANDICAP PACE
JUST MICHAEL - crowded in the early stages.
MAJOR PERFORMER - crowded in the early stages. Broke near the 700m when being shifted wider on the track by an inside runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly. Driver M Williamson advised the filly had paced roughly throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ARCHIE - broke at the start losing ground. Raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1900m. Weakened early in the run home.
SZYBKA LANE - tangled away. Raced wide without cover from the 900m.
WOODBINE ROCKS - held up leaving the final bend and early in the run home.
RUBY'S A DELIGHT - broke at the start losing ground.
THE CONQUEROR - raced wide early.
Race 6   BROSNAN TRANSPORT LTD TIMARU NURSERY STAKES (MOB PACE)
LILY'S A STAR - weakened leaving the final bend.
MASTERLOU - retired from the race rounding the first bend after the near side hopple carrier came adrift. Trainer T Yesberg was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix this gear so as not to come adrift.
RAGAZZO MAJOR - hampered by an easing of the pace rounding the first bend. Hung inwards and paced roughly early in the run home.
MIGHTY FLYING LOU - hung inwards in the run home and raced inside a track marker despite the efforts of driver J Curtin. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Curtin advised the colt had raced greenly during the running and he was disappointed with the effort over the concluding stages. Mr Curtin was issued with a warning for easing the pace in an abrupt manner rounding the first bend.
MAJOR HOT - hampered by an easing of the pace rounding the first bend. Over-raced middle stages.
IT'S TOUGH - out of position at the start. Driver C DeFilippi was issued with a warning. Hampered by an easing of the pace rounding the first bend.
QUINN - lay inwards in the run home and became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of ART JORDAN.
ART JORDAN - hung outwards racing into the first bend having to be steadied. Hampered by an easing of the pace rounding the first bend.
ALWAYS B COCKY - over-raced when being restrained racing into the first bend. Raced wide early.
Race 7   TYRE GENERAL TIMARU SUMMER CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
DENY EVERYTHING - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver S Ottley advised the gelding had been suited to a drop in grade from recent racing and receiving an economical run throughout.
EVANGALIST - broke at the start losing ground hampering a trailing runner.
JORDY - raced wide early.
LESTER - broke at the start losing ground. Held up by a weakening runner passing the 400m.
HEISENBERG - lay outwards leaving the final bend. Driver J Dunn was advised to make a greater effort to prevent his runner from shifting wider on the track.
HAZER - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced early. Raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1400m. Weakened from the 400m hampering a trailing runner.
KISS THE GIRLS - hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
DONMARO - fractious prior to the start. Broke at the start losing ground. Paced roughly leaving the final bend and early in the run home.
FRANCO MAREK - cast a shoe in the preliminary which was unable to be located with driver J Morrison electing to race the gelding with only one front shoe. Broke at the start losing ground. Raced wide early. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Morrison advised the gelding had been unsuited to the tempo of the race however had been pleased with the manner in which the horse had finished the race off.
Race 8   RITCHIE'S TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE
HILDA MAUD - had to be steadied near the 1400m after a slight easing of the pace. Raced wide from the 900m.
DALNESS ARIZONA - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer N Chalmers advised the gelding had appreciated a change in training regime since its last start and had benefited from a recent gear change along with being able to lead and dictate terms in front.
JUSTIN FUN - had to be steadied near the 1400m after a slight easing of the pace. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer K Kelly advised the mare had trained on well since its last start and had received an economical run throughout.
GET IT ON - raced wide early. Hung inwards when being restrained passing the 1400m resulting in a slight easing of the pace with trailing runners having to be steadied. Weakened from the 400m.
FERNZ GOLDY - raced wide early.
LAWYER GIRL - paced roughly shortly after the start.
LIZZIE RICHTER - raced four wide from the 900m.
GLIDING HIGH - held up early in the run home.
NOT OVER - had to be steadied near the 1400m after a slight easing of the pace. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
REFINE - held up early in the run home.
Race 9   EQUINE VETERINARY HANDICAP TROT
Authorisation of placings was withheld until Stewards had viewed replays of the start and were satisfied that although the front barrier strand had failed to fully clear the outside runners no horse had been materially affected as a result.
TEST THE BOUNDARIES - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened final bend.
MAUI - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up early in the run home.
VERTIGO - weakened leaving the final bend. Trainer/driver L McCormick advised he was disappointed with the effort and would be having blood tests taken from the mare in the coming days. Stewards will follow up the results of these tests. Mr McCormick was issued a warning for driving in a manner likely to cause interference when allowing his runner to breast the barrier strand resulting in it failing to fully clear the track.
SON OF PATRICK - backed away onto the plough on the outside of the track just prior to the start. Trotted roughly at the start before breaking. Stewards declared the gelding a non-runner under Rule 213(1)(j) after the horse was denied a fair start.
CODY BANNER - broke passing the 200m losing ground. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
AVEROSS MAJESTY - over-raced middle stages. Held up by a weakening runner final bend.
PRINCE TEKA - broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Weakened from the 400m.
THE DOMINATOR - weakened from the 400m.
ANDY HALL - when questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised the gelding had been unsuited to the tempo of the race and was unable to improve its position inside the final 800m due to the three wide line not becoming established.
Race 10   AORAKI FRAME & TRUSS MOBILE PACE
BONDI LUSTRE - weakened from the 600m. Broke rounding the final bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
KALASA - weakened from from the 700m. When questioned regarding the performance driver G O'Reilly was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Trainer L Hanrahan advised he will have blood tests taken from the gelding in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
BORRISOKANE - broke early in the run home losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when breaking for less than 50m inside the final 200m of the race.
VERLANDER - weakened from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
DREAMALITTLEDREAM - raced wide early.
CYREN SHARD - broke near the 300m losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
TIDE AND TIME - raced wide early. Over-raced from the 1400m after improving to the lead. Lay inwards into the passing lane early in the run home and was corrected by driver R Close.
FRANCO HOFFMAN - out of position at the start. Driver W House was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice.
LONGVIEW LAD - weakened from the 400m.
