Trainer T Yesberg advised Stewards on 23 November that MAJOR PERFORMER has recovered well following its last start and has been freshened in preparation for racing at Timaru.

Trainer R Dickson advised Stewards on 21 November that THANK YOU has had its off fore fetlock treated since last having raced.

Race 6 - PETE'S JOINERY & BUILDING GREYTOWN MOBILE PACE
The adjourned hearing to consider a defended charge of careless driving causing his own horse to break against Driver B Taylor (BLAZE MAGUIRE) was reconvened at tonight's meeting. After hearing the relative evidence and viewing the replays the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and suspended Mr Taylor's Driver's licence up to and including the 14th December 2023 (2 days).

Race 1   VISIT THE NZ RUGBY MUSEUM HANDICAP TROT
TRIFOLIUM - when questioned Driver L Neal advised that she attempted to activate the blinds at the same time that the deafeners were released but they malfunctioned.
PLAY FOOTSIE - lay in rounding the turns and in particular the final turn when contacting track markers.
KINGSCLERE - broke at the start losing ground. Broke passing the 1550m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
SLAINTE - broke at the start losing ground.
TEQUILA SUNRISE - broke shortly after the start losing its chance.
Race 2   HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIAN GEMMELL HANDICAP TROT
The start was delayed due to BOYZ INVASION becoming fractious and breaking through the front line tape on two occasions. Sent to the outside of the unruly for the re-start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Stewards extended leniency when assessing horse penalties given the delay to the start.
KISS MY PIXEL - broke entering the first turn losing ground. Driver G Martin reported that the crupper had pulled away from the saddle whilst in the break. This gear was inspected and found to have been in satisfactory condition.
JOHNNY WHO - broke at the start losing ground.
PRINCE ENVY - mixed its gait shortly after the start and was slow early.
STORMS ACOMING - removed from the Unruly for future stands.
SISTER JOHNSON - broke shortly after the start considerable losing ground. Broke near the 900m losing its chance.
MANCHESTER IN TIME - hampered shortly after the start when having to take evasive action. Broke near the 2100m losing ground. Broke again near the 700m losing further ground. Lay in rounding the final turn. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room until inside the final 100m. Authorisation of this runner's 3rd placing was briefly withheld until Stewards were satisified that the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - broke near the 2100m losing its chance.
Race 3   OUTBACK TRADING MOBILE PACE
SHARKNTATTIES - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner and lost ground before settling. Over-raced early stages. Paced roughly and broke near the 250m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier and racing manners.
CHANGEALOT - paced roughly entering the first turn losing ground. Again paced roughly and broke near the 700m checking trailing runners losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality.
DREAMS ARE BETTOR - checked near the 700m by a breaking runner and lost ground.
PENNYS FIRST FLIGHT - Trainer F Mitchell was warned for presenting the gelding to race without the notified pacifier.
CAROLINA MOON - paced roughly for several strides approaching the 900m.
ROCKAFILLY - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
CHEDDAR ON FIRE - broke briefly in the score up and was back from position at dispatch. Raced ungenerously losing contact with the field and was eventually retired from the event. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial.
COTE D'AZUR - checked near the 700m by a breaking runner and lost ground.
Race 4   T MARKET FRESH MOBILE PACE
CARRERA SUNSHINE - broke briefly in the score up.
LOUIE V TONNE - held up rounding the final turn.
STEALERS WHEEL - hampered for several strides when there was an easing of the pace near 1400m. Broke briefly near the 1000m when being steadied. Paced roughly near the 250m.
TURNPIKE JOE - hampered briefly when there was an easing of the pace near 1400m.
CONOR MCGREGOR - held up rounding the final turn.
MALEFICENCE - held up until late in the run home with Driver J Bublitz advising that she had not activated the removable deafeners as a result.
Race 5   MANAWATU PALMERSTONIAN MOBILE PACE
BETTOR GRUNTER - under pressure in the lead passing the 600m. Weakened final turn. A post race-veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
ARTFUL LIVING - the near fore hopple loop dropped shortly after the start. Trainer D Jones was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to ensure the carrier was affixed so as not to come adrift. Weakened final turn.
CLAUDE - paced roughly approaching the first turn and had to be steadied. Over-raced middle stages. Lost ground rounding the final turn.
RUN MASON RUN - Driver J Abernethy reported that a sulky tyre had punctured over the early stages. Weakened final turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
Race 6   DOUG BRADLEY PAINTING MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed for aprox 3 minutes due to a tongue tie on PRIVATE EYE requiring replacing.
VOODOO PRINCE - weakened final turn.
WHISKEY ON THE ROCKS - weakened in the run home.
TOE THE LINE - weakened in the run home.
IDEAL DELIGHT - pulled hard when being restrained early. Driver A Harrison reported that the cord broke after she activated the removable deafeners.
Race 7   CAFE JACKO MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed for 2 minutes due to NO ADDED SUGAR having to return to the stable area to replace the sulky.
HAMPTON - raced keenly middle stages.
NO ADDED SUGAR - permission was granted for this runner to race in the Woodlands colours. Weakened final turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality other than mild dehydration. When questioned Driver A Harrison could only attribute the disappointing performance to having to return to the stabling area rather than conducting a normal preliminary.
THE ELITE ATHLETE - held up throughout the run home when unable to secure clear running.
FULL OF DESIRE - tended to lay in throughout the run home.
Race 8   RACING AGAIN 12TH & 14TH DECEMBER MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed briefly due to gear on BONNEY ELOISE requiring attention.
NO MERCY - over-raced early and middle stages. Held up until inside the final 100m.
MR PRESIDENT - held up final turn and early stages of the run home with Driver D Butcher not activating gear as a result.
KATIES PRINCESS - locked stays briefly rounding the first turn when unsuccessfully competing for a position in the running line with LUKA DONCIC and raced wide early.
EDDIE OSEI - back from position at dispatch. Driver N Delany was issued with a warning.
LUKA DONCIC - locked stays briefly rounding the first turn when competing for a position in the running line with KATIES PRINCESS.
BONNEY ELOISE - hampered and broke approaching the first turn when there was an easing of the pace losing considerable ground before settling. Stewards were satisfied that the easing of the pace could not be solely attributed to any individual driver or horse and took the matter no further other than to note the circumstances.
