Race 1   BEN HOPE / KORBYN NEWMAN AMATEUR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
BEEPS - broke leaving the pre-race formation and was back several lengths at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BETTER FLY - connections advised the mare has been served and has had its knees treated since last racing. Had to be steadied racing into the first bend when an outside runner shifted inwards. Briefly placed in restricted room when an outside runner lay inwards near the 250m resulting in the mare breaking with the near side hopple also breaking.
REFINE - connections advised the mare will be racing in foal and has had its hocks injected since last racing.
FOVEAUX GAMBLER - raced wide early.
FERNZ GOLDY - connections advised the mare will be racing without hind shoes. Broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Authorisation of placings was withheld after driver S Manawatu wished to view the replays of the start as to whether he had been denied a fair start. After viewing the films Mr Manawatu did not wish to proceed with a protest and all placings were authorised.
PURE COURAGE - driver C Wigg was warned for the manner in which she drove when placing an inside runner in restricted room racing into the first bend.
OFF THE EDGE - lay in rounding the final bend briefly placing an inside runner in restricted room despite the efforts of driver A Edge. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
EMMA'S DELIGHT - driver J Buckland-Stevens will be spoken to regarding her use of the whip in the run home in the coming days.
JUDGEMENT BAY - over-raced middle stages. Cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
Driver J Buckland-Stevens (EMMA'S DELIGHT) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended her amateur driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on the 2 December up to and including 30 December 2023 (2 days).
Race 2   CARLTON - STANDING AT WAI EYRE FARM MOBILE TROT
STYX JEWEL - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m.
STEELINTHEHEEL - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m.
BEVRON - broke in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break in the early stages.
BOSS JO - trotted roughly and broke passing the 150m.
GRAND EAGLE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m. Trotted roughly from the 800m and broke near the 500m losing all chance.
ONE EL - hung inwards throughout the run home despite the efforts of driver J Curtin.
GEORGE ELIOT - trotted roughly and broke passing the 1600m hampering trailing runners and losing considerable ground. Broke again rounding the final bend losing all chance.
TO HILL AND BACK - briefly locked wheels with DANCING GLENIS after 150m.
DANCING GLENIS - briefly locked wheels with TO HILL AND BACK after 150m. Broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 450m losing all chance.
Race 3   ANDREW STUART RACING STABLES MOBILE PACE
PEARL'S A SINGER - connections advised the mare has been served since last racing.
EYES TO HEAVEN - lay inwards early in the run home.
TERROR MA SUE - raced wide early.
SAMVASA - trainer B Hutton was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race without the notified sliding blinds. Raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages.
VISCOUNT BANNER - raced wide early and middle stages.
THE NIGHT FOX - had to be steadied when there was a slight easing of the pace near the 1300m. Improved wide from the 1200m. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised he was not disappointed considering the gelding is best suited when being held up for one run and also given he was unable to gain a run with cover until late in the run home.
BETTOR REACTION - held up final bend.
Race 4   TEAM BAGRIE 2YO MOBILE TROT
LUCKY MUM - driver M Williamson advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
BONJOUR PARIS - broke near the 700m losing all chance. Returned to the stabling area with blood present in a nostril. A post-race veterinary examination confirmed the gelding had bled. Stood down for the mandatory 30 days with a veterinary clearance including an endoscopic examination required prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.
FATHER TIME - over-raced throughout.
TYRON EROS - broke near the 200m before settling in the final 50m. Stewards lodged a protest against 2nd placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. After viewing the replays the connections did not contest the protest and TYRON EROS was disqualified by the Stewards.
WILMA'S BOY - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Authorisation of the promoted 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break in the early stages.
Race 5   RIPPLE CREEK EQUINE MOBILE PACE
EDGE SHEERAN - paced roughly over the concluding stages.
APATCHOFGOLD - over-raced early stages. Lay outwards rounding the final bend. Driver J Curtin advised the removable deafeners were not activated due to the cord becoming entangled.
WRIGGLES RUFUS - over-raced middle stages. Driver W House advised the gelding had been hanging causing him difficulty and the sliding blinds were not activated in consequence.
BUDDY REIGN - attempted to buck shortly after the start and broke losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 6   REGAN TODD RACING STABLES PACE
ABSOLUTE DYNAMITE - held up late in the run home.
FRANCO TIM - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. When questioned regarding the improved performance driver G Thornley advised the gelding had benefited from a favourable draw today and had received an economical run throughout.
MEGAROCK - broke briefly at the start.
LOUIS - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
Race 7   ROBBIE HOLMES RACING STABLES TROT
LA DAMA - trotted roughly for a distance when weakening from the 650m hampering a trailing runner. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised the mare had raced lethargically throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
BEYOND THE HORIZON - lay inwards on several occasions throughout the running.
RACHMANINOV - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing considerable ground.
GINAS MAJESTY - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 650m.
WAIHEMO HANNAH - broke at the start and then paced losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
LOVEY DOVEY NOVA - lay inwards on a number of occasions during the running.
MM SUNSHINE - paced and then broke near the 1600m losing considerable ground.
MURANO - broke early in the run home losing its chance.
MAJESTIC WHISPER - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
NATIVES INFERNO - driver K Cameron advised he sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
Trainer K Townley advised Stewards on 8 December that LA DAMA has been treated for muscle tie up since last racing.
Race 8   MATT PURVIS RACING STABLES MOBILE PACE
ANN SOPHIE - weakened sharply rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver A Lethaby was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
SEARING LIGHT - raced wide early. Weakened from the 500m.
JACCKA OPA - paced roughly passing the 1000m. Again paced roughly and lay inwards throughout the run home.
