Race 1   MAD BUTCHER HANDICAP TROT
DOTHELOCOMOTION - trotted roughly racing into the first bend. Switched to a pace near the 850m losing all chance. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any significant abnormality.
MR MONTY - trotted roughly and was unable to hold the back of TEQUILA SUNRISE near the 1600m which allowed PLAY FOOTSIE to shift down and take a trailing position.
TEQUILA SUNRISE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 100m and tended to lay outwards throughout the run home having to be steadied by Driver D Butcher.
TRIFOLIUM - hampered by a breaking runner near the 100m.
PLAY FOOTSIE - lay in rounding the turns.
KINGSCLERE - weakened final turn.
SLAINTE - broke approaching the 100m when clear in the lead, hampering trailing runners.
Race 2   MASTERTON CLUB HANDICAP TROT
KISS MY PIXEL - broke at the start losing all chance.
JOHNNY WHO - broke briefly shortly after the start. Weakened final turn.
SISTER JOHNSON - broke at the start losing all chance. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of Trainer S Dickson.
BOYZ INVASION - bounded at the start.
STORMS ACOMING - weakened final turn.
PRINCE ENVY - broke briefly shortly after the start. Trotted roughly approaching the first turn. Raced keenly middle stages.
MANCHESTER IN TIME - broke approaching the 200m losing ground.
HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - lay out racing through the straights.
Race 3   POST OFFICE HOTEL PAHIATUA MOBILE PACE
ROCKAFILLY - Driver B Butcher admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) that he drove carelessly early in the run home when shifting ground inwards and contacting the sulky wheel of SHARKNTATTIES resulting in the tyre puncturing. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
MISS WOODVILLE - refused to follow the mobile in the early stages of the score up and took no part. After viewing the films Stewards declared the filly a non-runner due to unsatisfactory manners prior to the start. Stood down to complete one mobile trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
CHANGEALOT - Trainer D Butcher was issued with a warning for presenting the gelding with blinds which were not notified.
SHARKNTATTIES - Junior Driver J Bublitz was warned for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. Miss Bublitz was shown the films and reminded of her obligation to maintain a straight course early in the home straight. Miss Bublitz reported a sulky tyre had deflated during the running.
DREAMS ARE BETTOR - jumped a shadow and paced roughly shortly after the start. Lost contact with the body of the field racing down the back straight the first time and trailed the field for the remainder.
PENNYS FIRST FLIGHT - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 10.20am.
CHEDDAR ON FIRE - the required Veterinary clearance was received. Raced erratically over the early and middle stages and trailed the field throughout. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any significant abnormality. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the filly. Driver B Taylor was issued with a warning for using his whip on a runner out of contention.
Race 4   MAD BUTCHER WAIRARAPA CUP MOBILE PACE
CALL SECURITY - lay outwards and came together with ARTFUL LIVING late in the run home.
BETTOR GRUNTER - pulled hard in the score up. Driver S Doody admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip & Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committe suspended Mr Doody's Driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on Thursday 23 November up to and including Thursday 14 December 2023 (2 days).
ARTFUL LIVING - struck several track markers rounding the final bend. Driver B Butcher was advised to make a greater effort to avoid making contact with track markers in future. Lay inwards and came together with CALL SECURITY late in the run home.
RUN MASON RUN - shifted out entering the home straight. Driver S Abernethy was warned to make a greater effort to keep his runner straight in future.
Race 5   OSBORNE GROUP CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS MOB PACE
NO MERCY - raced erratically early in the score up hampering a second line runner.
PACING HOPE - awkwardly placed close to the sulky of RAGING WHITEBAIT near the 1200m.
RAGING WHITEBAIT - Driver J Abernethy reported he had sustained a flat tyre during the running.
LADY LA SALLE - hampered by an easing of the pace near the 2000m.
THE ELITE ATHLETE - hampered by an easing of the pace near the 2000m.
DOCTOR TIM - hampered by an easing of the pace near the 2000m. When asked to comment on the performance Driver W House advised that the gelding had got too far back in the running on a sedate pace but he had been satisfied with the run.
BARBAROSSA - paced roughly when being steadied at the rear near the 2000m when there was an easing of the pace in the running line.
EDDIE OSEI - hampered early in the score up by a front-line runner however was in position at the candy pole. When questioned regarding the performance connections advised that the gelding had benefitted from a return to the longer distance and being driven handier to the speed today.
WHISKEY ON THE ROCKS - struck several track markers rounding the final turn. Driver J Bublitz was advised to make a greater effort to avoid making contact with track markers in future.
Race 6   PETE'S JOINERY & BUILDING GREYTOWN MOBILE PACE
ROZONA ROSE - raced wide early and middle stages before being restrained to the rear near the 1600m.
WHITEBAIT DELIGHT - weakened from the 800m. Connections advised that the filly was being treated for muscle tie-up post-race and will be withdrawn from the second day of the meeting.
CONOR MCGREGOR - out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Driver J Abernethy was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.
BLAZE MAGUIRE - broke after contacting the sulky of an outside runner passing the 150m losing all chance. Driver B Taylor defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that he drove carelessly in this incident with the matter adjourned by the Adjudicative Committee to be heard on Thursday 23 November.
CARRERA SUNSHINE - broke after jumping a shadow near the 975m and was taken up the track before settling, then raced wide thereafter.
BONNEY ELOISE - Driver W House was issued with a warning to ensure he makes a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home in future.
Race 7   CONNIE STEWART S0THEBY'S INTERNATIONAL REALTY MOB PACE
CLEAR LEFT - lay out at various stages. Held up briefly entering the home straight.
DIDJANOTHATONE - weakened from the 600m. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality.
SANTANNA MACH - raced wide early.
PRIVATE EYE - pulled hard in the score up.
