Race 1   O'CONNOR WARREN INSURANCE BROKERS HANDICAP TROT
The start was delayed by 3 minutes due to issues with the Hawkeye vision system.
ROMEO FOXTROT - hampered briefly by a weakening runner near the 650m.
COOL PHELAN - slow early. Broke entering the first turn losing all chance and was retired from the event.
VORONOV - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
SONSOFTHEMERCH - weakened final turn.
ALANA - hampered briefly by a weakening runner near the 700m.
FLYING SCOTSMAN - broke at the start losing all chance.
PHOEBE MAJESTIC - broke passing the 1200m and was retired from the event after pulling the near fore shoe.
PRESIDENT FLYNNTIN - slow to begin. Lost contact with the body of the field during the middle stages. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 500m and trotted roughly for several strides.
ORDAINED - commenced to weaken near the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. When questioned regarding the performance Driver S Abernethy reported that he was disappointed with the gelding's effort and could offer no explanation. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
LUBY LILL - tended to shift out under pressure in the run home.
TRUE STORY - lost contact with the body of the field during the middle stages.
Race 2   BARRETT HOMES PALISADES MOBILE PACE
FIFTH AND FINAL - broke shortly after the start but soon settled. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Broke for several strides near the 900m hampering trailing runners. Stewards were satisfied that there were insufficient grounds for a protest against this runner's first placing given the minor degree of interference received by trailing runners and the winning margin.
GOD DAM - over-raced early and middle stages. Hampered briefly by a breaking runner near the 900m.
FREEDOM DASH - hampered briefly by a breaking runner near the 900m.
LOUIS ROUGE - hampered briefly by a breaking runner near the 900m.
SHEZA MERMAID - Driver N Chilcott was warned for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion near the 1100m and then again in the run home.
OUR BENSON - hampered briefly by a breaking runner near the 900m. When questioned regarding the performance Driver P Ferguson stated that the gelding had only battled and could offer no explanation for the disappointing run.
EXHILARATE - held up early in the run home when attempting to improve to the inside of JAHI in the passing lane.
JAHI - hampered briefly by a breaking runner near the 900m.
Race 3   NZB AIRFREIGHT MOBILE PACE
IT'S NAE OR NEVER - shifted out late in the run home after having utilised the passing lane.
KINGS WATCH - late scratching at 8.15am on veterinary advice.
LENNY LINCOLN - Driver A Poutama reported that a sulky tyre punctured during the running.
WHITFIELD - Driver T Macfarlane reported that he had been unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
SMART AND MIGHTY - cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 4   BARRETT HOMES HELM MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed briefly due to MARGHERITA having to return to the stabling area to have an issue with the sulky rectified.
THE COBBLER - weakened final turn.
PACING HOPE - raced wide early and middle stages before crossing to the parked position passing the 1400m. Locked sulky stays briefly with an outside runner passing the 200m.
MARGHERITA - paced roughly over the finish line. Stewards were satisfied that the mare had maintained her correct gait in this incident.
OCEANIC ART - raced wide early. Weakened final turn.
SUNSHINE SHELBY - locked sulky stays briefly with an inside runner passing the 200m.
MILLIES SENSATION - weakened final turn.
Race 5   DUNSTAN THAMES TROTTERS CUP HANDICAP TROT
KIWITRIX - broke near the 1800m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
ITAINTNECESSARILYSO - broke rounding the first turn losing all chance.
MELSADELE - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
WISHING STAR - Stewards viewed an incident near the 1300m where this runner briefly raced wider when CASTANA shifted out into the running line. It was established that Driver B Butcher (CASTANA) had commenced his outward movement prior to WISHING STAR covering his sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.
SACRED MOUNTAIN - lost ground when having to take evasive action to avoid a breaking runner entering the back straight on the first occasion.
Race 6   BETAVET CELEBRATES 15 YEARS MOBILE PACE
JACCKA COOPER - over-raced middle stages. Weakened in the run home.
GANDALF - had difficulty obtaining clear running early in the home straight.
DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER - lay in rounding the final turn and throughout the run home. Driver T Mitchell was warned for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion near the 150m.
ALWAYS B STUNNING - held up early final turn.
Race 7   IRT THAMES PACERS COUNTRY CUP HANDICAP PACE
BETTOR HEIST - broke at the start losing ground.
YOU LITTLE BEAUTY - broke at the start losing ground.
VILLAGE REBEL - delayed the start on several occasions after having become fractious. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
BROOKIES JAFFA - Driver P Ferguson encountered considerable difficulty in activating gear early in the run home.
FERNLEIGH CASH - slow early adding to its 25m handicap.
Race 8   BARRETT HOMES MOORINGS HANDICAP TROT
ITBETTERBENOW - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Broke passing the 800m losing all chance.
JEWEL ELLERY - broke at the start hampering trailing runners and lost all chance.
HUGHIE WALLACE - broke passing the 1700m losing all chance.
MAZEPPA - hampered shortly after the start and broke losing ground. Broke near the 1600m when trailing the field and lost all chance.
IT AIN'T ME BABE - delayed the start after having become fractious. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners. Hampered and broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
ROCK ON JAZZ - broke at the start losing ground. Broke near the 1750m losing further ground.
