BENNIE AND THE JETS - permission was granted for the half hopples to be removed from the gelding after breaking in the stable area prior to going onto the track.
CLYDE - weakened from the 500m.
MAJESTIC WHISPER - back from the unruly position at the start after objecting to the track grit.
Race 2   XCM SPORT MOBILE PACE
THE WELSH DRAGON - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke again near the 650m losing its chance.
LENA RIVERS - weakened rounding the final bend.
QUICKER THAN QUICK - raced wide early and middle stages. Lay inwards throughout the running placing driver B Orange in some difficulty. Paced roughly and weakened from the 800m. A warning was placed on the racing record of the colt.
GOOD TIME BETTY - lay inwards rounding the final bend and struck a track marker when driver J Morrison was attempting to activate the removable deafeners. Despite this driver J Morrison was advised to make a better effort to avoid making contact with track markers in future.
HANOI FRANCO - lay inwards rounding the final bend striking track markers.
MIKI'S COURAGE - lay outwards in the score up and was slightly out of position at the candy pole.
PATIRO - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start losing ground. Broke briefly near the 1700m again losing ground.
CARVING UP - paced roughly and lay inwards rounding the final bend.
LIGHT ME UP - when questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver G Smith advised after settling near the rear of the field the colt had been unable to improve its position due to the tempo of the race. Mr Smith added that after being held up round the final bend he was pleased with the way the horse had finished off the race.
Race 3   FAULKS INVESTMENTS MOBILE PACE
SINAI SERMON - a false start was declared when SINAI SERMON broke late in the score up hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the colt. Driver C Thornley elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
DARE DEVIL - weakened rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner.
FRANCO MESSI - co-trainers B & T White were issued with a warning for being late to notify the gelding would be racing with blinds.
BETTOR LOVER - when questioned regarding the performance driver R May advised the gelding had become worked up as a result of the false start which had taken its toll on the horse being able to finish the race off competitively.
MOONLITE DREAM - held up early in the run home.
CARDI B - held up rounding the final bend.
DANCE WITH THE BOSS - raced wide early. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
Race 4   CARL FORRESTER MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
EVANGALIST - hampered by a breaking runner on the first bend.
OHOKA LE BRON - hampered by a breaking runner on the first bend.
WHO'S DELIGHT - broke rounding the first bend and then hung inwards hampering trailing runners losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver G Smith advised the inside hopple shortener had prematurely released and the horse had broken when he activated the outside shortener. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
FRANCO INDIE - hampered by a breaking runner on the first bend.
FRANCO SINATRA - raced wide early. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety was unable to provide any explanation.
OHOKA CONNOR - raced wide early. When questioned driver T Williams advised he was not disappointed with the performance and the gelding would derive benefit from the fresh up run.
LIFES A BEACH - hampered by a breaking runner on the first bend. Held up for a distance passing the 100m.
BETTER'S TART - connections advised the mare has been served since last racing. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Following this race the track was downgraded to Easy.
Race 5   SENZ - NEW ZEALAND 2YO TROTTING STAKES (MOBILE TROT)
HEAD EM UP - driver P Nairn admitted a breach of Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) in that he shifted outwards near the 1650m forcing TORQUAY STREET to race wider on the track. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
WYPOUT - lay inwards and struck a track marker near the 1500m. Weakened final bend.
TORQUAY STREET - forced to race wider on the track near the 1650m when HEAD EM UP shifted outwards. Weakened final bend.
FATHER TIME - hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend.
LUCKY MUM - broke rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner and was taken inside the marker line losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
YOSEMITE - raced wide early.
IMPERIAL COMMAND - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver A Clark. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened final bend. Trainer A Clark advised the horse will be freshened prior to resuming.
THE MERC - raced wide from the 1100m.
A FINE PATRICK - raced wide early. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver Z Butcher advised he was disappointed with the effort. The connections advised they will have blood tests taken from the gelding in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
EMPIRE CITY - trainer P Williamson was issued with a warning for presenting the filly to race with blinds which had not been notified. Broke after 150m losing all chance.
JOEKING - raced wide early.
LOOK TO DA STARS - pre-race warmed. Back from the unruly position at the start. Raced wide early and middle stages and then without cover from the 900m.
Race 6   PI & GJ KENNARD BLOODSTOCK MOBILE PACE
SPIRIT OF ANARCHY - over-raced middle stages.
Following this race the track was downgraded to Slushy.
Race 7   HYDROFLOW HANDICAP TROT
BOLT FOR BRILLIANCE - slow early. Forced to race three wide from the 700m.
Race 8   WOODLANDS STUD 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY UP THE WAHS CLARKE' MOB PACE
DANCE TILL DAWN - when questioned regarding the performance the connections advised the mare was unsuited to the pattern of the race when having to improve to race outside the leader through the middle stages.
KIKORANGI BLUE - shifted ground inwards placing LUVSTRUCK in restricted room momentarily near the 1800m. Driver B Butt was spoken to advisedly for the manner in which he shifted ground.
MANTRA BLUE - raced three wide from the 600m.
LUVSTRUCK - placed in restricted room momentarily by an outside runner near the 1800m.
Race 9   STORER MOTORS HANDICAP PACE
MANHATTAN - held up late in the run home.
HOMEBUSH LAD - backed away as the start was effected losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SMIFFY'S TERROR - broke at the start losing ground.
Race 10   FORREST QUIP MOBILE TROT
GIFT CARD - lay inwards rounding the final bend and struck a track marker. Blundered near the 60m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MASTERLY - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
CONFESSIONAL - driver P Nairn was warned to make a better effort to be in his correct barrier position at the start. Lay outwards racing into the first bend. Hung outwards rounding the final bend. Trotted roughly and lay outwards over the concluding stages.
ANDY HALL - raced wide early.
MISSALYSSA - driver S Thornley reported he was disappointed with the performance. Trainer A Faulks advised he will be having blood tests taken from the mare in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
Race 11   'THE BEALEY' MOBILE PACE
THE COALMAN - raced wide early.
DANCING DESIRE - raced wide early. Hung inwards rounding the final bend.
MAJOR TORQUE - raced wide from the 700m.
DA VINCI - lay inwards early in the run home. Driver C Ferguson advised he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
WAG STAR - raced wide early.
Race 12   GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
IDEAL CHEVRON - broke just prior to the start checking a trailing runner losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened final bend.
CEE WHO'S BETTOR - lay inwards and had to be straightened by its driver near the 150m.
AMARETTO FRANCO - hung inwards rounding the final bend and continued to hang inwards early in the run home. Driver C Thornley advised he would be recommending gear changes prior to the filly racing next.
HE'S TOUGH - checked by a breaking runner just prior to the start losing considerable ground. After viewing the replays with trainer B Mowbray and Starter R Donnelly, Stewards declared HE'S TOUGH a non-runner under Rule 213(1)(j) after being denied a fair start.
SPIRITUAL BLISS - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room at various stages of the run home. Driver S Ottley reported she did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
MILOU - held up late in the run home.
SOPHIA BROMAC - raced wide from the 800m.
