Stewards questioned driver P Ferguson regarding the tactics he adopted in the middle stages when unsuccessfully challenging MAGIC FOUR for the lead. After considering his explanation, Stewards issued a charge under Rule 868(2) alleging that he failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure that his gelding was given full opportunity to win or obtain the best possible finishing position by persisting with a challenge for the lead during the middle stages. The charge was adjourned sine die. | |
