Connections advised Stewards on 23 October that AARDIEBYTHEHILL has had a fetlock treated since last racing.
Driver M Williamson (LOVE N THE PORT) defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly when shifting inwards near the 150m when insufficiently clear of MIDNIGHT DASH (T Williams) which had to be restrained. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr Williamson's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 26 October up to and including 30 October 2023 (3 days).

MISS GRACIE - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.

FREEDOMS BEAUTY - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Again hampered by a breaking runner near the 1000m. Lay inwards near the 200m and was awkwardly placed close to the sulky of RAISE THE DEVIL which had commenced to shift outwards.

ARDEN'S PURSUIT - shied inwards shortly after the start and was awkwardly placed close to the sulky of BOGLE MCNEEP and had to be steadied losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1000m. Again hampered by a breaking runner near the 350m.
AMERICANO - held up middle stages of the run home.
KIWI'S ROCK - raced wide from the 1600m. Broke near the 1000m hampering trailing runners losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
PACIFIC THUNDER - lay inwards for a distance passing the 250m placing an inside runner in restricted room. Despite the horse hanging inwards driver S Thornley was advised to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home in future. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
Race 3   BRICKTECH TROT
HANOVER DA MOON - held up early in the run home.
WESTAR MILLY - broke at the start losing ground. Had to be steadied near the 1500m when there was a slight easing of the pace. Trotted roughly and lay inwards over the concluding stages. Driver B Hope reported the removable deafeners were not activated in consequence.
HOLLY HIGHLANDER - raced wide until improving to the lead near the 1500m.
BARRYTOWN - had to be steadied near the 1500m when there was a slight easing of the pace. Raced wide from the 1100m. Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule when SONOMA TYRON shifted ground outwards near the 1100m with BARRYTOWN racing wider on the track. After viewing the replays Stewards were satisfied driver G O'Reilly (SONOMA TYRON) had commenced his outwards movement prior to BARRYTOWN reaching his sulky wheel and no further action was required.
CLYDE - raced wide early.
Race 4   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS SIRES' STAKES FILLIES (HEAT 4) MOB PACE
MADRID - lay inwards racing into the first bend striking a track marker. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
ANYTIME AT ALL - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance driver G Smith was unable to offer any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
SOFIA ROSE - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.

POST PAINTER - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.

COMMANDER JOE - over-raced when being restrained to obtain cover passing the 1000m.

AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE - held up early in the run home. Lay inwards and had to be corrected by its driver near the 150m. Driver T Williams advised the removable deafeners were not activated due to having the field covered.
MILOU - broke near the 200m when being shifted wider on the track by an inside runner. A post-race veterinary examination at the request of the connections revealed an abrasion above the left hind hock which was treated.
TREACHEROUS GALL - held up early in the run home. Driver C Ferguson defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly when shifting ground near the 200m resulting in MILOU (K Cameron) breaking. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr Ferguson's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 30 October 2023 (4 days).
MILLWOOD NIKE - late scratching at 9.45am on Veterinary advice.
Race 7   NEUMANNS TYRES HAMBLETONIAN CLASSIC (MOBILE TROT)
SWITCH ON - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke again shortly after the start losing ground. Trotted roughly final bend.
MONARCH PRINCE - raced wide early. Weakened final bend.
KRACKALING - over-raced middle stages.
CONFESSIONAL - trotted roughly late in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
GEORGE ELIOT - hung inwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
BET N WIN - broke near the 400m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
ISOLATE - driver N Williamson reported the removable deafeners were not activated due to having the field covered.
GOLD BULLION - when questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver B Butt was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with Mr Butt in the coming days.
SUNNYS SISTER - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.

JOLIMONT - held up late in the run home.
DA VINCI - trainer C Ferguson was issued a $50 Minor Infringement Notice for being late to notify the gelding would be racing with an anti choke device and blinds.
HELIUM - lay inwards having to be corrected by its driver near the 200m.
Race 9   NZB AIRFREIGHT ASHBURTON FLYING STAKES (STAND PACE)
BACH -broke at the start and shifted outwards abruptly losing ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
HEZA SPORT - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
AKUTA - slow to begin. Driver O Thornley was advised to make a greater effort to be in position at the start.
AMERICAN ME - driver S O'Reilly was advised to make a greater effort to be in position at the start.

ACENTO - held up by a weakening runner passing the 600m.
SZYBKA LANE - weakened from the 600m hampering a trailing runner. Driver B Williamson advised the mare had been making abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
DANCE TILL DAWN - raced wide early.
