Trainer B Butt advised Stewards on 18 October that subsequent blood tests conducted on KIKORANGI BLUE revealed signs of muscle tie up which has been treated and he will now be continuing on with the mare's current preparation.

Race 1   HEATHER & DEBORAH NEGUS BIRTHDAYS (AMATEUR) MOBILE PACE
SECRET COCKTAIL - driver B Peisley was warned for half carting passing the 700m.
PURE COURAGE - authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until driver R Reekie (HE'S TOUGH) placed 4th, had viewed the replays and confirmed he did not wish to proceed with a protest after receiving interference from PURE COURAGE early in the run home. Driver C Wigg admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly when shifting ground and striking the sulky wheel of HE'S TOUGH early in the run home which punctured. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer B Hope advised that he had made several gear changes since acquiring the horse in recent weeks, in particular a change to the gelding's shoeing and was of the opinion that the horse had appreciated being able to work in company with other horses in training.
BEEPS - locked wheels with FOVEAUX GAMBLER late in the score up and was slightly out of position at the start.
EXECUTIVE BANNER - paced roughly in the early stages. Again paced roughly near the 1600m.
HE'S TOUGH - driver R Reekie reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre early in the run home.
SUPERSTAR LEGEND - driver M House was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
EMMA'S DELIGHT - broke briefly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.

TIME IS PRECIOUS - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Trotted roughly passing the 900m losing ground and again on the final bend. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with connections in the coming days.
HIGH NOON - briefly hampered by an inside runner passing the 50m.
KING OF DIAMONDS - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke again near the 1600m losing all chance and was retired from the race.

STYX JEWEL - trotted roughly and lay outwards in the run home.
THE GARDENER'S PRIDE - became fractious leaving the pre-race formation losing ground and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened final bend.

Race 3   'LATHER UP' AT WOODLANDS STUD MOBILE PACE
LONE WOLF - placed in restricted room shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Paced roughly final bend.
HARRISON - lay inwards shortly after the start placing LONE WOLF in restricted room.
DOUBLE TIME - over-raced middle stages. Held up throughout the run home. Driver T Williams advised he did not activate the sliding blinds in consequence.
OHOKA LE BRON - Stewards questioned driver J Cox regarding the tactics he adopted from the 800m. Mr Cox explained that he elected to improve three wide due to the slow tempo of the race as he did not want to be caught in a sprint home from the rear of the field. Mr Cox added that he had driven the horse at recent trials and was disappointed the gelding was unable to sustain its effort inside the final 200m.
Race 4   TERROR TO LOVE HANDICAP PACE
GOODOLDAYZ - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MAJOR HAPPY - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Held up by a weakening runner final bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home and paced roughly near the 100m after striking a knee.
GOORAMBAT ART - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
MAJOR TORQUE - driver S Ottley reported the sliding blinds were not activated due to having the field covered.
HAYLEY'S MEDDLE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record filly.
LOUIS - broke after 100m losing ground.
KIWI RECORD - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
CASINO ACTION - broke at the start losing ground. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised the gelding had been unable to make up ground due to the strong tempo throughout after breaking at the start.
KIWI HERO - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Hung inwards throughout causing driver C Thornley considerable difficulty. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
JAZELLE - broke at the start losing ground.
Race 5   JOHNNY GLOBE MOBILE TROT
A false start was declared when SEBASTIAN COE broke in the score up checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver S Thornley elected to move to the unruly position for the restart where the horse will remain for future mobile starts.
RACHMANINOV - lay inwards rounding the final bend crowding an inside runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
SEBASTIAN COE - broke near the 950m when being shifted wider on the track by AIGUILLE losing all chance. Stewards questioned drivers T Williams (AIGUILLE) and S Thornley (SEBASTIAN COE) regarding this incident where it was established that SEBASTIAN COE had hung inwards when Mr Thornley attempted to concede his position resulting in the horse breaking. Stewards placed a warning on the racing record of the gelding.
LOOKSLIKEATRIXTER - hampered by a breaking runner near the 700m.
LOVE IS EVERYWHERE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 700m. Held up final bend and had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
KD HAWK - crowded rounding the final bend by an outside runner resulting in the gelding striking and racing inside track markers. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the horse had struck and raced inside track markers after suffering interference from an outside runner.
LA DAMA - broke near the 700m hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
IZIA - hampered by a breaking runner near the 700m.
EL CONQUEROR - lay outwards final bend losing ground.

GOOD TIME BETTY - held up middle stages of the run home.

A GUINNESS ROCK - weakened from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
LENA RIVERS - raced wide early. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver S Payne could offer no explanation. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
MILEY ACE - raced wide early.
STRIKE ME HANDSOME - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
ELEPHANTINTHEROOM - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B Orange. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
THE WELSH DRAGON - raced wide from the 1000m. Paced roughly passing the 150m. Driver J Thomas admitted a breach of Rule 868(3) in that he failed to drive the gelding out to the end of the race when having a reasonable chance of finishing in 4th place. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Thomas' driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 30 October 2023 (3 days).
Race 7   LONE STAR SIRES STAKES SERIES 2YO PRELUDE (MOBILE TROT)
LOOK TO DA STARS - pre-race warmed. Hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
A FINE PATRICK - trotted roughly in the run home.
LIL WHIP - hung outwards after 150m hampering outside runners.
TIME FOR VICTORY - hampered by an inside runner after 150m.
MODE - hampered by an inside runner after 150m. Broke passing the 400m losing all chance.
PANTANI - broke after 200m losing ground. Weakened final bend.
FATHER TIME - broke late in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BOUNCE N BEYOND - the boring pole was removed prior to the start after warming up unfavourably. Broke passing the 1300m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
Race 8   MONKEY KING MOBILE PACE
MACH MAJOR - lay inwards and lost ground near the 800m. Weakened from the 600m hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn could offer no explanation and was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be showing signs of being in season with a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
SPIRITUAL BLISS - paced roughly shortly after the start. Hampered by a weakening runner for a distance from the 600m.
OBSESSION - raced wide with cover from the 1200m.
DEFY ME - over-raced middle stages. Hampered by a weakening runner for a distance from the 600m.
BETTOR LOVER - lay inwards leaving the final bend striking a track marker.
CYREN SHARD - raced wide from the 1200m.

HERE'S HERBIE - driver C DeFilippi was warned for the manner he drove near the 300m when crowding inside runners.

When questioned regarding the performance both trainer C Ferguson and driver N Williamson were unable to offer any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. DONMARO - began awkwardly. Weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised the gelding had worked hard from the 700m when improving three wide. TE RAPA - hampered by a breaking runner near the 800m.

HES SANTAS EXCUSE - crowded near the 1700m.
APATCHOFGOLD - shifted inwards crowding an inside runner near the 1700m. Driver J Curtin was warned to exercise more care when shifting ground. Held up throughout the run home. Mr Curtin advised he did not activate the sliding blinds or removable deafeners in consequence.
IDEAL CHEVRON - driver K Butt was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground near the 200m which briefly hampered outside runners.
WOODLEA JEWEL - briefly hampered near the 200m.
FINDERS KEEPERS - weakened final bend.
VINCENT VEGA - weakened final bend. Driver M Cations was warned for using his whip on a runner out of contention.
FERGALICIOUS - briefly hampered near the 200m.
JUDINE - raced wide early.
NED KELLY - slow to leave the pre-race formation and was back a distance at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule when FRANCO TIM shifted outwards with NED KELLY briefly racing four wide for a short distance near the 1100m. After viewing the replays it was established that driver G Thornley (FRANCO TIM) had commenced her outwards movement prior to NED KELLY reaching her sulky wheel and no further action was required. Broke near the 1050m losing ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
