Trainer C McDowell advised Stewards on 12 October that TERROR MA SUE has recovered well following its last start and has worked well in preparation for racing at Oamaru on Sunday.

Race 1   WOODLANDS STUD THIRD MARES SPRING SPRINT (MOBILE PACE)
KIKORANGI BLUE - when questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver B Butt was unable to provide any explanation. Mr Butt advised he will have blood tests taken from the mare in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
CLASSIE LINC - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Over-raced middle stages.
AARDIE'S EXPRESS - driver T Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 2   NZB STANDARDBRED HARNESS MILLION No.4 2YO MOBILE TROT
PARAMOUNT KIWI - driver M White advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
LIL WHIP - raced greenly for a distance near the 1800m.
LOOK TO DA STARS - broke as the start was effected losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BOUNCE N BEYOND - broke near the 700m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver J Dunn advised the gelding had cast the near front shoe.
LEVI - broke passing the 1200m losing all chance.
PRINCESS SADIE - raced wide from the 900m. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 700m.
LUCKY MUM - trotted roughly passing the 1500m having to be steadied. Broke near the 300m losing all chance.
THE MERC - held up early in the run home.

Race 4   HYDROFLOW HANDICAP TROT
The start time was put back three minutes at the request of the TAB.
The start was delayed due to the barrier strand failing to clear CORMORAN STRIKE. The start was further delayed after GREENBANK DON required gear adjustments.
THE BLOSS - held up throughout the run home. Driver S O'Reilly reported the removable deafeners were not activated in consequence.
MAGIC DASH - began awkwardly.
MAKE MY SUNDON - began awkwardly. Over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards and trotted roughly leaving the final bend.
GOLD BULLION - Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1500m when GOLD BULLION shifted ground outwards forcing HAROLD SMITH wider on the track momentarily. After viewing the films Stewards were satisfied that driver B Butt had commenced his outwards movement prior to HAROLD SMITH reaching his sulky wheel and no further action was required.
PRINCE TEKA - raced wide early.
GALWAY GIRL - broke passing the 2100m losing ground. Broke again near the 300m.
HAROLD SMITH - briefly raced wider on the track near the 1500m when GOLD BULLION shifted outwards.
OUTAMYWAY - trotted roughly in the run home.
NAZARETH - trotted roughly final bend. Driver J Dunn advised he was unable to make ground from the rear after trotting roughly on the final bend and becoming unbalanced.
Race 5   NZB STANDARDBRED HARNESS MILLION No.4 2YO C & G MOBILE PACE
ALWAYS B ELITE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver T Mitchell. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
COMMANDER JOE - over-raced middle stages. Raced greenly near the 1000m when shifting ground.
HADRON COLLIDER - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages.
SHARDS MATRIX - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
HAWKEYE PIERCE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver T Herlihy. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the colt.
DOUBLE JEOPARDY - raced wide from the 1500m and without cover from the 1000m. Weakened final bend.
RENEGADE - raced wide early.
CHASE A DREAM - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Raced wide with cover from the 1500m. Driver M Purdon admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Purdon's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 10 November 2023 (8 days).
Race 6   AUSTIN FARRIER SUPPLIES HANDICAP PACE
MOSSDALE BEN - paced roughly over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Connections advised they will have blood tests taken from the gelding in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
KANGO - began awkwardly.
B D JOE - broke at the start losing ground. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
KRUG - held up throughout the run home. Driver C Dalgety advised the removable deafeners were not activated in consequence.
AKUTA - tangled away.
Race 7   NZB STANDARDBRED HARNESS MILLION No4 2YO FILLIES MOBILE PACE
SOFIA ROSE - over-raced middle stages.
KISS - over-raced for a distance passing the 1500m when attempting to be restrained to obtain cover.
FOLLOW YOUR DREAM - raced wide early. Weakened leaving the final bend.
OKIWI BAY - weakened leaving the final bend.
TACT TEENA - weakened final bend.
Race 8   AIRPARK CANTERBURY 3YO FLYING STAKES (MOBILE PACE)
TRIPLE G - lay outwards in the run home.
BLUTO - weakened final bend.
ALTA METEOR - hampered near the 350m.
CHARLIE BROWN - hampered near the 350m.
WHO'S DELIGHT - checked near the 350m when MERLIN shifted outwards. Raced greenly when attempting to shift ground outwards near the 150m and was then placed in restricted room for a distance when an inside runner lay outwards resulting in the gelding breaking.
JOLIMONT - lay outwards in the run home.
WAG STAR - hampered by CONEY ISLAND LOU which shifted outwards in the run home.
CONEY ISLAND LOU - raced wide early. Junior driver C Dalgety (assisted by M Williamson) defended a charge under Rule 869(4) and the Home Straight Regulations alleging he allowed his runner to shift outwards leaving the final bend and in the run home resulting in WAG STAR being hampered. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties, the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.
MERLIN - shifted ground outwards near the 350m checking WHO'S DELIGHT with trailing runners being hampered. After questioning drivers Z Butcher and G Smith (WHO'S DELIGHT), Stewards issued Z Butcher with a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident when shifting ground in an abrupt manner. Mr Butcher admitted the charge and after viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended his driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 19 October up to and including 27 October 2023 (3 days).
SINBAD - hampered near the 350m.
DON'T STOP DREAMING - hampered near the 350m.
Race 9   DANCINGINTHEDARK M CANTERBURY PARK TROTTING CUP (HCP TROT)
TIME UP THE HILL - hampered by a breaking runner near the 200m.
LOVE N THE PORT - shifted ground inwards near the 150m placing MIDNIGHT DASH in restricted room which had to be steadied. Driver M Williamson defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly when shifting ground with the hearing being adjourned sine die by the Adjudicative Committee.
EUROKASH - co-trainers G & N Hope were issued a $50 Minor Infringement Notice after being late to notify the gelding would race without the notified blinds. Broke near the 200m losing all chance.
RESOLVE - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing ground.
AARDIEBYTHEHILL - broke at the start losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 200m.
MYSTIC MAX - broke near the 100m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
MIDNIGHT DASH - placed in restricted room in the middle stages of the run home.
BOLT FOR BRILLIANCE - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Broke near the 200m after striking a knee hampering trailing runners losing all chance. Trainer/driver T Herlihy advised he would be making alterations to the gelding's shoeing.
Race 10   HARNESS GRAND PRIX 10TH DECEMBER MOBILE PACE
DIVINE ANGEL - the required veterinary clearance was received. Weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
MIKI BENNETT - over-raced through the middle stages when attempting to restrain to obtain cover. Driver T Williams advised the gelding will be sent for a spell.
BLACK MACH - connections advised they would give consideration to sending the gelding for a spell.
FULL OF DESIRE - held up early in the run home.
MILOU - raced wide early and middle stages.
BETTOR LOVER - raced wide early. Raced wide without cover from the 1000m. Raced greenly when being shifted wider near the 900m.
TEMPO WARRIOR - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
STRAIGHT FLUSH - hampered final bend by a weakening runner.
