Race 1   G J GARDNER HOMES TROT
MAJESTIC CHALLEN - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
HAIL STONE - Driver T Nally reported he had difficulty steering the mare throughout.
FROSTY GIRL - lay in rounding the bends.
HIGHLIGHT - broke at the start losing ground. Trotted roughly for a distance near the 800m before breaking again when weakening passing the 400m, losing all chance.
LIME IN A BOTTLE - broke at the start losing ground. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
TORQUAY STREET - shifted ground outwards in the home straight having to be corrected by Driver B Williamson. Mr Williamson was spoken to advisedly to ensure he maintains a straight course in the run home.
KISS ME KATE - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
JOEKING - broke at the start and continued to gallop uncontrollably for some distance making contact with ACTION PACKED before being pulled up by Driver N Williamson and retired from the race. Stood down to complete one standing start trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
ACTION PACKED - broke shortly after the start losing ground and was then hampered by a breaking runner shortly after. Broke again rounding the final bend.
Race 2   OLPHERT CONTRACTING LTD NZ JNR DRIVER CHAMPS (H3) MOB PACE
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - Junior Driver Z Meredith, assisted by Driver B Barclay, admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip & Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Meredith's Driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on Thursday 12 October until the conclusion of racing on Monday 23 October (2 days) and imposed a fine of $100.
SUPERFAST - raced wide early.
MUCHO FUERTE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of Driver K Tomlinson who reported the mare had been striking its knee. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts. Paced roughly on various occasions throughout. Weakened from the 500m. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slow recovery.
SHERWOOD MAGGIE - over-raced through the middle stages. Held up rounding the final bend.
Race 3   WALKER MURDOCH LAW LTD MOBILE PACE
A MAJOR STARR - weakened final bend. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow recovery.
AARDIE'S CAPTAIN - weakened final bend.
STEEL LEDGER - weakened from the 600m. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the filly.
WAYWARD ANGEL - Driver C Ferguson reported he did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered. Observed to be showing signs of lameness on return to the birdcage following the race. A subsequent Veterinary examination revealed the filly to have some low-grade lameness in the near foreleg. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
JUDITH GWENDA - out of position at the start. Driver S O'Reilly reported the mare had resented the boring pole causing her some difficulty. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
DARIN - out of position at the start. Driver K Green was issued with a warning. Briefly hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. K Green was also warned for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
GUNNER ANDY - broke racing into the first bend hampering trailing runners and losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
THE MAESTRO - briefly hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Weakened from the 800m. Stood down to complete one competitive trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
Race 4   KUBALA SEEDS LTD NZ JUNIOR DRIVER CHAMPS (HEAT 4) MOB PACE
FIREFOREFIDDLE - hampered by a breaking runner passing the 800m.
AMERICAN MAC - hampered by a breaking runner passing the 800m.
RIGHTAZZ - broke passing the 800m hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
SAGWITCH - raced wide early.
Race 5   REGENT CAR COURT NZ JUNIOR DRIVER CHAMPS (HEAT 5) (HCP TROT)
SUE'S DASH - reared and turned away prior to the start causing a delay. Sent to the Unruly by the Starter where the mare will remain for future standing starts. Broke briefly at the start.
SON OF MAJESTIC - broke passing the 800m losing all chance.
STEVE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Trotted roughly rounding the final bend.
OUR PINOCCHIO - slow away.
Race 6   DANCINGINTHEDARK M IN NZ SOUTHERN TROTTING OAKS (MOB TROT)
JANAKA'S DELIGHT - lay in final bend striking track markers.
ISOLATE - broke in the score-up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
WALKINONSUNSHINE - raced wide early. Driver B Orange reported he did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 7   VINCENT AT ALABAR HANDICAP PACE
HAZER - broke and bucked briefly at the start. Driver T Nally reported the gelding had hung inwards on the bends.
ROBYNS PLAYBOY - hampered final bend by a breaking runner.
MIKI KNOWS - broke rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner and losing all chance.
JOES ROCK - broke briefly at the start.
U MAY CULLECT - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 10.00am. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
