An investigation was held into this incident. After hearing the evidence from Drivers P Ferguson (MIKI NOEL), S Phelan (ARTISAN), M McKendry (MIKI SHAN) and viewing the replays Stewards were not satisfied that MIKI SHAN had become clearly established as the lead horse on the marker line after LADY OF THE LIGHT (leader) had shifted out on approaching the passing lane and as such were of the opinion that Mr McKendry was entitled to shift down into the lane. Given the circumstances Stewards could not attribute blame solely to any driver and took the matter no further.
