KAWHI - when questioned regarding the performance driver Z Butcher advised he was not overly disappointed believing the gelding would derive benefit from its first race day start after a spell.
SUNNY LOUIS - held up early in the run home.
CELTIC ARDEN - driver J Dunn reported he dropped his whip during the running.
NATIVES INFERNO - lay inwards over the concluding stages.
KOWHAI SUNSET - broke near the 350m losing all chance.
Race 2   HYDROFLOW MOBILE PACE
BLACK MACH - weakened final bend.
ADESANYA - held up by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
MILLWOOD INDIE - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner and lay inwards striking a track marker. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Williamson was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
THE CRAIC - trainer T Bagrie was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race without the notified sliding blinds which were fitted prior to the start. Over-raced middle stages.
KIWI HERO - over-raced early and middle stages. Lay inwards near the 1100m striking a track marker. Driver C Thornley advised the gelding struck and punctured its own sulky tyre shortly after the start.
WAG STAR - driver M Hurrell advised the removable deafeners were not activated due to having the field covered.
Trainer T Bamford advised Stewards on 11 October that MILLWOOD INDIE will be freshened prior to resuming.

JAHI - lay inwards and struck track markers racing into the first bend.

FLO MOTION - held up final bend by a weakening runner.
REFINE - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner and lay inwards striking track markers.
WOODLEA EXPLORER - hung inwards leaving the final bend briefly crowding an inside runner. Driver K Tomlinson reported the mare had hung inwards rounding the bends causing her difficulty.
WHO'S BETTOR - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners. Briefly crowded early in the run home.
JUDGEMENT BAY - broke as the start was effected losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
CLASSIE LINC - trainer B Negus was warned for not having the correct colours available.
JAZELLE - held up final bend by a weakening runner and in the early and middle stages of the run home. Driver S O'Reilly advised the removable deafeners and sliding blinds were not activated in consequence.

MASTERLY - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.

MYSTIC MAX - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again near the 200m losing all chance.
I DREAM OF JEANNIE - broke when improving wide near the 350m losing all chance.
JIMMY CARTER - hung inwards and struck a track marker passing the 2300m.
Trainer B Butt advised Stewards on 9 October that MASTERLY has a hock and fetlock treated since last racing.

ASK ME LAZARUS - weakened final bend. Lay inwards and briefly locked wheels with PATIRO near the 150m.
SHARE A DREAM - held up final bend and until late in the run home. Driver R Close advised the removable deafeners were not activated in consequence.
LONGVIEW LAD - weakened final bend.
ARMINIUS - raced wide from the 700m.
PATIRO - briefly locked wheels with ASK ME LAZARUS which lay inwards near the 150m.
Race 7   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS SIRES' STAKES FILLIES (HEAT 3) MOB PACE
ALWAYS B YOU - checked by a breaking runner near the 300m losing all chance.
FOLLOW YOUR DREAM - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
WATERFRONT - co-trainers M & N Purdon were issued a warning for presenting WATERFRONT and TREACHEROUS BABY to race with the incorrect numbers.
POST PAINTER - hampered by a breaking runner near the 300m.
RAKNRUIN - checked by a breaking runner near the 300m and broke losing all chance.
MELODY BANNER - raced wide early. Over-raced rounding the final bend before breaking and shifting outwards abruptly near the 300m checking and hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
OUR SHANGRI LANA - checked by a breaking runner near the 300m.
LE TWIST - raced wide from the 1000m. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 300m.
MADRID - raced wide early.
Race 8   NEVELE R '50 YEARS OF SUCCESS' (HEAT 6) MOBILE PACE
SWEET DIAMOND - held up by a weakening runner final bend. Broke near the 300m when attempting a run to the inside of SEACRACKA and LUVSTRUCK. Stewards questioned drivers J Cox (SWEET DIAMOND), R May (SEACRACKA) and Z Butcher (LUVSTRUCK) regarding this incident and after viewing the replays and considering their explanation, Stewards issued a charge against Mr Cox alleging he drove carelessly when shifting ground outwards into a run which was not present resulting in his horse breaking with trailing runners also being hampered. Mr Cox admitted the breach and after hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Cox's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 8 October up to and including 15 October 2023 (3 days).
SEACRACKA - lay inwards and made contact with SWEET DIAMOND leaving the final bend after being placed in restricted room.
CYREN SHARD - hampered leaving the final bend and struck track markers.
TREACHEROUS MISS - trainer R Todd advised the filly would be racing in season. Weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner. Struck track markers leaving the final bend when crowded by an outside runner.
JAZZY STYX - hampered leaving the final bend.
SWEET COCO - over-raced when leading through the middle stages.
TREACHEROUS GALL - trainer R Todd advised the filly would be racing in season.
Race 9   McMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS NZ JNR DRIVER CHAMPS (H2) MOBILE TROT
SEBASTIAN COE - checked by a breaking runner and broke leaving the final bend.
LOVE IS EVERYWHERE - over-raced middle stages.
LA DAMA - broke leaving the final bend checking trailing runners. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
TEDESCO - raced wide early. Hampered leaving the final bend.
IT'S SO EASY - driver W House reported his sulky tyre deflated in the middle stages.
WILLANGUS LAD - raced wide early.
TE RAPA - paced in the early stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
HELLOVEAMOMENT - held up final bend. Checked and broke leaving the final bend.
MADELEINE STOWE - hung outwards and trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Checked by a breaking runner leaving the final bend.
Race 10   DOWNBYTHESEASIDE 'MAKING A SPLASH' MOBILE PACE
FRANCO HOFFMAN - junior driver W House was warned for being late to present his runner onto the track. Weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
HELIUM - over-raced middle stages when leading.
SWEET BELLE - raced wide early.
HEISENBERG - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
Race 11   GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
FAST ACE - driver R Cameron admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and in a continuous manner in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Cameron's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 8 October up to and including 23 October 2023 (4 days).
ATOMIC TRAVELLER - struck track markers near the 1500m. Driver J Morrison was issued with a warning. Weakened rounding the final bend.
EL CHICO - pre-race warmed. Gave ground abruptly passing the 600m and raced greenly finishing a considerable distance last. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt advised the gelding had proved uncontrollable during the running causing him considerable difficulty. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on two occasions prior to resuming.
NED KELLY - broke near the 900m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
Top
