OUTAMYWAY - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B Butt. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the horse.
LONE WOLF - raced wide early and middle stages.
THE COALMAN - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Driver S Ottley advised the removable deafeners were not activated in consequence.
REGGIE GOLIGHTLY - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Again hampered by a breaking runner near the 150m.
STEPHS BOY - raced wide early.
CASINO ACTION - junior driver C Dalgety was questioned regarding his decision not to shift out into the three wide line near the 600m. Mr Dalgety explained at that stage he was of the opinion OUTAMYWAY was under pressure when leading up the three wide line, the horse immediately in front of him was travelling well and he was conscious he may be forced to race four wide from this point had he improved outwards. After considering the matter Stewards were satisfied with Mr Dalgety's explanation.
Race 4   THE VALLEY INN TAVERN HANDICAP TROT
LA DAMA - trotted roughly early stages. Broke racing into the first bend when leading losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
TEDESCO - lay inwards and struck a track marker near the 900m.
MURANO - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke at the start hampering trailing runners losing all chance.
LOOKSLIKEATRIXTER - hampered at the start by a breaking runner.
SASSY STAR - over-raced middle stages. Weakened from the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.

GREENBANK DON - trotted roughly rounding the first bend having to be steadied. Hung inwards leaving the final bend striking track markers.

Race 5   NEVELE R '50 YEARS OF SUCCESS' HANDICAP PACE
FRANCO INDIE - held up final bend and early in the run home. Driver M Purdon admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Purdon's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 8 October 2023 (3 days).
HERE'S HERBIE - checked near the 100m and locked wheels with DECEPTIVE LEE. Driver C DeFilippi admitted a breach of Rule 869(7A)(a) for striking the final track marker prior to the passing lane and the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $100.
MO'UNGA - over-raced middle stages. Held up early in the run home. Shifted inwards near the 100m checking DECEPTIVE LEE which was forced inwards and locked wheels with HERE'S HERBIE with both runners losing ground. Driver R Close admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 100m when shifting ground inwards checking inside runners. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Close's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 5 October up to and including 13 October 2023 (2 days).
DECEPTIVE LEE - checked by an outside runner and forced inwards passing the 100m locking wheels with HERE'S HERBIE.
JIMMY JAMES MAGUIRE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Held up final bend and early in the run home.
HOMEBUSH LAD - began awkwardly. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
AMERICAN ME - over-raced early and middle stages.

AARDIEBYTHEHILL - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
LOVE N THE PORT - when questioned regarding the performance driver M Williamson advised the gelding had been unsuited to racing parked in its second start back from a spell however expected the horse to derive considerable benefit from the race.
EUROKASH - over-raced early stages. Weakened final bend hampering trailing runners. Driver R May reported the gelding had failed to settle during the running with the effort taking its toll.
I DREAM OF JEANNIE - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
MIDNIGHT DASH - broke near the 400m losing all chance.
Race 7   PI &GJ KENNARD BLOODSTOCK LAZARUS STAKES (MOBILE PACE)
BORRISOKANE - broke near the 400m hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.

B D JOE - checked and broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground.

BEACH BALL - broke at the start and shifted inwards hampering trailing runners losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
HEZA SPORT - checked racing into the first bend.
BACH - paced roughly racing into the first bend checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding with the connections advising that they would be making gear changes with the addition of spreaders prior to racing next. Lay inwards and struck a track marker near the 2100m which was dislodged hampering a trailing runner. Held up middle stages of the run home.
AARDIE'S EXPRESS - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
CORRAVALLY STAR - checked racing into the first bend.

MASTERLY - trotted roughly over the concluding stages when weakening. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt advised the gelding had raced lethargically throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
HIDDEN TALENT - when questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver N Williamson advised the mare had raced lethargically throughout and he would have blood tests taken from the mare in the coming days. Stewards will follow up the results of these tests with Mr Williamson in the coming days.
GALWAY GIRL - trotted roughly throughout the run home.
SPY DA MOMENT - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
NAZARETH - trotted roughly near the 150m.
