Race 1   KUBALA SEEDS WELCOME BACK TO THE GRIT F&M MOB PACE
STEEL CRUSHER - Driver M Hurrell reported that the mare had hung on various occasions during the running and proved difficult to steer.
SHEZZA VINNY - held up in the early stages of the run home.
Race 2   ZILCO / SOUTHERN VEGETATION CONTROL TROT
BRING ON THE MUSCLE - hung on various occasions in the run home.
TIME IS PRECIOUS - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of Trainer R Heads.
HIGHLIGHT - raced wide and then broke rounding the first bend losing ground. Weakened final bend.
IMPERIAL COMMAND - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
ACTION PACKED - broke briefly at the start.
Race 3   AON MOBILE PACE
MACANDREW MARKUP - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 8.30am.
MINOS - Driver M Jones was issued with a warning for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion leaving the final bend.
LOU'S BOY - broke and ran off the track rounding the final bend hampering an outside runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
BETTOR WAY - hampered passing the 800m. Hampered again by a breaking runner on the final bend and was forced off the track onto the plough, before being returned to the track by Driver G Thornley and completing the race. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
THOR - out of position at the start despite the efforts of Driver B Orange. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the colt. Raced greenly at various stages before being retired from the event passing the 600m with Driver B Orange advising that the colt had refused to take any further part in the event. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stood down to complete one trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
Race 4   MOSSDALE MOBILE PACE
ALWAYS ON SALE - paced roughly passing the 800m. Broke briefly passing the 300m before settling, then broke again passing the 250m losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Trainer C Barron advised ALWAYS ON SALE will now be sent for a freshen up.
CHICK MAGNET - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Briefly lost the back of the field passing the 1400m. Returned to the birdcage enclosure with blood present in the mouth. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed CHICK MAGNET to have bitten its tongue.
SEA FURY - broke passing the 450m.
GUNNER ANDY - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
THE MAESTRO - weakened from the 700m. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
Race 5   HELLO WORLD TRAVEL GORE FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
JUDAQUE - paced roughly in the middle stages of the run home. Returned to the birdcage enclosure with blood present in the mouth. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bitten its tongue.
EMMA'S DELIGHT - paced roughly in the early stages.
PERFECT POTION - placed in restricted room shortly after the start when an outside runner shifted ground inwards, paced roughly and then broke shortly after.
JENNY GUMP - lay in entering the first bend and raced over a track marker. Driver K Green was spoken to advisedly regarding the manner she shifted ground shortly after the start which placed an inside runner in restricted room. After speaking with drivers B Williamson and K Green and viewing the films, Stewards were unable to apportion blame to any one driver or horse due to the available films proving to be inconclusive.
Race 6   CARPET PLUS WILLY'S FLOORING / REGIONAL FORD MOBILE PACE
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - lay in passing the 1800m and briefly locked wheels with SLY TRICKS hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
RHYME N REASON - raced wide early. Paced roughly in the run home when weakening.
RAKE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home with Driver K Adams reporting she did not release the removable deafeners as a consequence.
LA MOTH - raced wide early.
SLY TRICKS - briefly locked wheels with FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ passing the 1800m and was subsequently retired from the race with a punctured sulky tyre.
DALNESS ARIZONA - Trainer N Chalmers reported the gelding has been treated for stomach ulcers since last racing. Briefly hampered and placed in restricted room near the 1800m then struck the inside sulky wheel of SLY TRICKS resulting in the tyre puncturing. Broke passing the 1400m losing all chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
Race 7   BACK ON TRACK WITH MATAURA LICENSING TRUST HANDICAP TROT
SON OF THE CLEANER - lay in rounding the bends. Broke passing the 650m losing all chance. Stood down to complete two trials to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. Trainer T Stratford reported the gelding would now be sent for a spell.
CODY BANNER - broke passing the 400m.
AVEROSS MAJESTY - Driver S O'Reilly reported she did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 8   GORE SEPTIC TANKS SERVICES MOBILE PACE
ELLZ ANGEL - held up final bend and early in the run home.
HUNTING WEIGHT - briefly locked sulky wheels with MIGHTY REACTOR passing the 200m.
HUKI FELLA - raced wide early.
FRANCO CORNEL - broke leaving the final bend.
DURRANT - over-raced in the middle stages.
CASTELO DE VIDE - the required Veterinary Clearance was received.
MIGHTY REACTOR - raced wide early. Briefly locked sulky wheels with HUNTING WEIGHT passing the 200m.
GRINNING AGAIN - over-raced in the score up.
Race 9   FIBER FRESH FILLIES & MARES MOBILE TROT
BLITHE - lay in on various occasions in the run home.
AH DINNAE KEN - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
MISS JESSICA - lay in early in the score up. Trotted roughly when weakening rounding the final bend. Faltered when easing down after the race being immediately attended to by the on-course Veterinarian with the Horse Ambulance deployed. A subsequent examination revealed a fracture to the off-hind leg with the mare being humanely euthanised and removed from the track in the Horse Ambulance.
SALLY LINDENNY - broke in the score up however was in position at the start.
JUDICATE - broke passing the 900m.
Race 10   GORE TOWN & COUNTRY CLUB MOBILE PACE
The start time of this race was rescheduled to 6.49pm due to the incident following Race 9. There was a further delay to the start when gear on WILLISON required attention.
LOU'S DEAL - broke rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
FOURTH AMENDMENT - weakened final bend. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with Trainer B Mowbray in the coming days.
HAZER - Driver T Nally reported he did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
MR CASH MAN - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend. Trainer/Driver N Williamson reported the gelding had over-raced on occasions.
