LOU'S BOY - broke and ran off the track rounding the final bend hampering an outside runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. | |
BETTOR WAY - hampered passing the 800m. Hampered again by a breaking runner on the final bend and was forced off the track onto the plough, before being returned to the track by Driver G Thornley and completing the race. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. | |
THOR - out of position at the start despite the efforts of Driver B Orange. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the colt. Raced greenly at various stages before being retired from the event passing the 600m with Driver B Orange advising that the colt had refused to take any further part in the event. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stood down to complete one trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. |

ALWAYS ON SALE - paced roughly passing the 800m. Broke briefly passing the 300m before settling, then broke again passing the 250m losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Trainer C Barron advised ALWAYS ON SALE will now be sent for a freshen up. | |
CHICK MAGNET - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Briefly lost the back of the field passing the 1400m. Returned to the birdcage enclosure with blood present in the mouth. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed CHICK MAGNET to have bitten its tongue. | |

PERFECT POTION - placed in restricted room shortly after the start when an outside runner shifted ground inwards, paced roughly and then broke shortly after. | |
JENNY GUMP - lay in entering the first bend and raced over a track marker. Driver K Green was spoken to advisedly regarding the manner she shifted ground shortly after the start which placed an inside runner in restricted room. After speaking with drivers B Williamson and K Green and viewing the films, Stewards were unable to apportion blame to any one driver or horse due to the available films proving to be inconclusive. |

Briefly hampered and placed in restricted room near the 1800m then struck the inside sulky wheel of SLY TRICKS resulting in the tyre puncturing. Broke passing the 1400m losing all chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. |

MISS JESSICA - lay in early in the score up. Trotted roughly when weakening rounding the final bend. Faltered when easing down after the race being immediately attended to by the on-course Veterinarian with the Horse Ambulance deployed. A subsequent examination revealed a fracture to the off-hind leg with the mare being humanely euthanised and removed from the track in the Horse Ambulance. | |
