MIKI'S BEAUTY - lay in on a number of occasions throughout the run home having to be straightened by Driver M Williamson. | |
WAYWARD ANGEL - lay in through the middle stages of the run home. When questioned regarding the tactics he adopted during the race Driver C Ferguson advised he elected to restrain the filly early to obtain cover from the wide draw adding he did not want to go early and have to cover extra ground on the final bend when the pace was on. Mr Ferguson further added he was not disappointed with the performance given the filly was fresh up today. |

SON OF THE CLEANER - slow to begin. Lay out on the bends throughout and in particular rounding the final bend causing Driver B Orange some difficulty. Broke passing the 200m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. |

COASTER - paced roughly throughout the run home and broke briefly passing the 50m. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the colt had not broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m and did not make ground when in a break. | |
ALWAYS ON SALE - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced middle stages. | |
BEAUDIENE BLAZE - hampered and broke racing into the first bend. Broke again rounding the final bend. Stood down to trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. Trainer J Douglas advised the gelding would now be sent for a spell. | |
RUSTENBURG - paced roughly late in the score up. Hampered shortly after the start by a breaking runner. Driver C Ferguson admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly racing into the first bend when shifting ground outwards hampering BEAUDIENE BLAZE which broke in consequence. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Ferguson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including Friday 29 September (2 days). | |
