Race 1   THE ALEX BAR & EATERY TROT
MAZEPPA - hampered when struck by a dislodged track maker near the 1350m. Broke near the 200m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
FAITH IN MANCHESTER - Driver T Mitchell reported that he sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 1450m when contacted by MAZEPPA after both runners shifted ground inwards. Stewards were unable to apportion blame solely on either driver and took the matter no further other than to remind them of their respective obligations.
FIVE O'CLOCK GERRY - lay in and dislodged a track marker near the 1350m. Trotted roughly early in the run home after contacting the sulky wheel of ULTIMATE MOMENT. Junior Driver C Hackett (assisted by T Herlihy) was issued a warning in relation to this incident. In considering the matter Stewards took into account that there were no consequential effects as the sulky tyre had not been punctured.
ASTERIA LAVRA - broke near the 1800m losing all chance.
TAKE THE MONARCH - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
FLYING SCOTSMAN - trotted roughly shortly after the start losing ground. Trotted roughly again rounding the first turn losing further ground.
SWEET OLIVIA - removed from the unruly for future stands.
Race 2   PEBBLE BEACH NEW AT ALABAR MOBILE PACE
D J ROCK - raced greenly and lay inwards near the 500m striking a track marker hampering trailing runners.
MY COPY - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages.
LADY LA SALLE - Trainer M Berger was warned for presenting the mare without the notified blinds. Raced wide early before being restrained towards the rear. Lay in and struck a track marker near the 700m. Hampered near the 500m.
BENSON DUDE - raced wide early.
CAULFIELD - raced wide early before crossing to the parked position near the 1500m.
THE BRAVE - hampered near the 500m. Held up over the final 100m.
SUNSHINE SHELBY - hampered near the 500m.
Race 3   LONE STAR ALEXANDRA PARK HANDICAP TROT
KEEP IT KLASSY - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of Trainer A Donnelly.
TEQUILA SUNRISE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners.
BERTHA'S PRIDE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Trotted roughly entering the first turn losing further ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.
CHELSEA HOTEL - hung inwards and struck track markers near the 1000m. Weakened in the run home.
SANINARMBRO - weakened in the run home.
NOBLE COUNT - hampered by breaking runners over the early stages.
AARDIE'S PEAK - lay outwards in the early stages of the run home and then again near the 75m forcing LUNA LOU wider on the track. Authorisation of this runner's 1st placing was withheld until Stewards had spoken to Driver T Herlihy (LUNA LOU) who advised that his chances of winning had not been affected as he felt his filly had come to the end of its run. A final warning was placed on the racing manners of AARDIE'S PEAK.
HELSINGOR - hampered by breaking runners over the early stages. Lay in at various stages. Weakened final turn.
Race 4   CAPTAIN CRUNCH AT ALABAR MOBILE PACE
LADY OF THE LIGHT - lay out and shifted up the track early in the home straight but was corrected by Driver M Ranger. Continued to lay out throughout the run home.
BAD MEDICINE - held up early final turn. Junior Driver Z Meredith (assisted by D Balle) admitted a breach under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Meredith's Driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 28 September 2023 (1 day) and also imposed a fine of $300.
MONTANA D J - paced roughly and broke racing into the first turn losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
Race 5   FRANKLIN VETS FILLY / MARE OF THE YEAR AT ALEX PARK HCP TROT
KIMKAR DASH - pre-raced warmed. Fractious prior to the start.
SHESGOLD - lay in late in the run home and struck the final track marker.
ITAINTNECESSARILYSO - began awkwardly. Raced wide early before crossing to the parked position near the 1300m.
SLY PUNTER - fractious prior to the start. Broke entering the first turn losing its chance.
TROT TO CHEVRON - broke near the 300m. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
RUBY RIDGE - trotted roughly rounding the final turn.
Race 6   CADUCEUS CLUB 2YO FILLIES CLASSIC MOBILE PACE
TREACHEROUS BABY - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
ARDEN'S MEMORY - weaken leaving the 1000m and broke hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance which is to include a satisfactory ECG prior to trialing on one occasion.
ANYTIME AT ALL - paced roughly when being restrained early. Checked near the 900m by a breaking runner.
SEASIDE ROSE - raced wider near the 1250m when CHANGE TACT shifted out to a three wide position. It was established that Driver D Butcher (CHANGE TACT) had commenced his outward movement prior to SEASIDE ROSE covering his sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.
KISS - raced wide with cover from the 1200m. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 900m. When spoken to Co-Trainer S Phelan reported that he was disappointed with the effort and would advise Stewards if anything surfaces that would explain the performance.
CHANGE TACT - raced greenly near the 1000m losing ground. Checked near the 900m by a breaking runner and broke losing all chance.
ULTIMATE RACY GIRL - raced wide without cover from the 1200m.
AKATEA - Connections advised Stewards on 4 December that the filly has had a fetlock treated since having last raced.
Race 7   ALABAR SPRING CUP HANDICAP PACE
Stewards questioned Starter F Phelan in relation to Driver M McKendry (COPY THAT) appearing to take an extra turn after having been called into line but after hearing Mr Phelan's explanation took the matter no further.
NICHOLAS CAGE - swung outwards when the barriers were released and broke losing ground before settling at the rear.
Race 8   AUCKLAND CO-OP TAXIS 300-3000 NORTHERN 3YO STAKES MOB PACE
TWO EYE SEE - raced fiercely entering the first turn and then broke briefly hampering trailing runners. Continued to over-race middle stages.
FRANKIE MAJOR - hampered near the 1900m when having to take evasive action.
HUGOTASTIC - lay out when leading approaching the 500m presenting an inside run to the trailing SOONER THE BETTOR and then weakened. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
LINCOLN RIVER - hampered near the 1900m when having to take evasive action.
Race 9   "DOWNBYTHESEASIDE MAKING A SPLASH F&M SERIES FINAL MOB PACE
ALWAYS B STUNNING - lay in rounding the final turn and contacted the track marker at the entrance to the passing lane.
YOU LITTLE BEAUTY - paced roughly when locking wheels with KATIES PRINCESS near the 900m after having been shifted wider on the track. Disappointed for a run in the passing lane early in the home straight and had to be shifted wider in search of clear running.
KATIES PRINCESS - weakened in the run home after sustaining a punctured sulky tyre in the incident near the 900m.
WHOOSHKA - raced wide early before being restrained to the rear.
SMOKINHOTCHEDDAR - weakened in the run home.
Race 10   WOODLANDS STUD SIRES STAKES 2YO C & G HEAT 3 MOB PACE
WALTZING WITH MIKI - shifted in shortly after the start contacting a track marker and then broke losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the colt's barrier manners. Weakened final turn.
LE MAJOR - Driver B Butcher reported that he had not activated the deafeners due to having the field covered.
