Co-trainer J Thomas advised Stewards on 18 September that THE WELSH DRAGON has been treated for a virus since last racing.

Race 10 - ASHBURTON POWDER COATING & SAND BLASTING HCP PACE
Trainer B Butt advised Stewards on 13 September that blood tests taken from SONNY VISTA revealed the gelding to have a high white cell count which has been treated with the horse continuing its current preparation.

Race 10 - GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
Junior driver C Dalgety (who declined the assistance of a senior driver) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip continuously in the run home when driving FERNETTI. After hearing submissions on penalty from the Stewards and Mr Dalgety the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.

Race 1   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION. HANDICAP TROT
RACHMANINOV - began awkwardly hampering a trailing runner and losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner after 100m.
SEBASTIAN COE - paced after 100m before breaking hampering trailing runners losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
LOVE POTION - trotted roughly through the middle stages. Weakened final bend.
CORMORAN STRIKE - hampered by breaking runners in the early stages.
LA DAMA - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
SUNNY LOUIS - when questioned regarding the performance trainer F Fletcher advised the entire had been unsuited to racing parked in its first start back after a spell and he expected the horse would derive considerable benefit from the race.
SASSY STAR - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
Race 2   NEOVIA ACCOUNTANTS MOBILE PACE
FRANCO HOFFMAN - held up early in the run home.
Race 3   MACCA LODGE SIRES' STAKES CLASSIQUE (MOBILE TROT)
ISOLATE - hung outwards through the early stages and shifted up the track despite the efforts of driver N Williamson hampering an outside runner. Mr Williamson reported that the filly had hung outwards throughout causing him difficulty and he would be recommending gear changes.
STYX JEWEL - lay inwards rounding the final bend. Driver W House advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to the filly trotting roughly.
GEORGE ELIOT - hampered in the early stages by an inside runner.
MAVIS JONES - broke near the 500m losing all chance.
SUNNYS SISTER - trotted roughly over the concluding stages and lay inwards.
THE IVY LEAGUE - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole and start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Again trotted roughly at various stages throughout.
KRACKALING - over-raced middle stages. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Williamson advised he was disappointed with the effort of the filly even considering having to work hard through the middle stages to obtain the parked position.
WALKINONSUNSHINE - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
MISS GRACIE - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
Trainer P Nairn advised Stewards on 22 September that THE IVY LEAGUE has had its hocks treated since last racing.
Race 4   WOODLANDS STUD 'SUPPORTING OUR FUTURE' MOBILE PACE
TRES BONNE FILLE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver G Thornley. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
TACT TEENA - over-raced early stages.
MADRID - paced roughly in the run home and was unable to be fully driven out.
FOLLOW YOUR DREAM - raced wide early.
SOFIA ROSE - hung inwards and paced roughly rounding the final bend when being shifted wider on the track after weakening. When questioned regarding the performance driver K Butt could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
MELODY BANNER - raced wide early.
COURTNEY ROSE - raced wide from the 700m.
WATERFRONT - raced wide from the 700m.
Race 5   AIRPARK CANTERBURY MOBILE PACE
WHATABLAZE - broke in the score up of the restart hampering trailing runners with a second false start being declared. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver J Hay elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the third attempt at a start.
EDDIE OSEI - a false start was declared when EDDIE OSEI broke in the score up after contacting the barrier arm hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver B Orange elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
DALTON SHARD - driver J Dunn was warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground near the 400m after crowding an outside runner.
FRANCO HUMBIE - raced wide early.
CREED - raced wide early. Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1500m when CREED briefly raced in a four wide position after LUVSTRUCK had shifted ground outwards. Driver L O'Reilly confirmed that driver M Purdon (LUVSTRUCK) had commenced his outward movement prior to him reaching his sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.
ADESANYA - crowded near the 400m when an inside runner shifted ground outwards.
SOPHIA BROMAC - pre-race warmed.
Race 6   WOODLANDS STUD SIRES' STAKES SERIES (HEAT 2) MOBILE PACE
HADRON COLLIDER - raced greenly and hung inwards throughout the run home causing driver J Dunn some difficulty. The connections advised they would be making gear changes prior to the gelding resuming.
MAGICIAN - lost ground on the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised the gelding had been striking a knee on occasions however was not disappointed with the effort.
NEVERSEENTHERAIN - broke after 150m and settled at the rear. Weakened leaving the final bend. Driver K Newman advised the gelding had struck a knee causing it to break.
HARRISON JOHN - hung inwards leaving the final bend and in the run home.
COMMANDER JOE - over-raced middle stages.
Race 7   HILL LEE & SCOTT LAWYERS HANDICAP PACE
HAPPY PLACE - raced wide early. Weakened from the 700m. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver B Butt advised he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with Mr Butt in the coming days.
BEACH BALL - began awkwardly losing ground. Connections advised the gelding lost the left hind shoe during the running.
AMERICAN ME - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced early stages.
HOMEBUSH LAD - held up final bend and early in the run home.
SMIFFY'S TERROR - raced wide early.
WHEELS OF FORTUNE - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver J Hay advised he was disappointed with the effort and could provide no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Mr Hay advised he would have blood tests taken from the gelding in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
LAVER - weakened from the 800m. When questioned regarding the performance driver G O'Reilly advised the gelding had raced lethargically from the 800m after improving wide through the middle stages and he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 8   FAULKS INVESTMENTS HANDICAP TROT
GAZZA BEATT - began awkwardly. Weakened from the 1300m before breaking passing the 1000m losing all chance. When questioned regarding the performance driver K Tomlinson advised the gelding had trotted roughly through the middle stages losing ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
IT'S SO EASY - broke at the start and shifted outwards hampering an outside runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
ONE OVER DA LINE - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
ROYAL DEL - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
NAZARETH - trotted roughly near the 2100m. Again trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
SPY DA MOMENT - driver K Cox was warned for using her whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
Race 9   HYDROFLOW MOBILE PACE
BETTER FLY - over-raced middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend.
JUDINE - broke as the start was effected checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Held up by a weakening runner final bend.
MICHAEL CAINE - over-raced middle stages.
MAJOR TORQUE - driver S Ottley advised the sliding blinds were not activated due to having the field covered.
COMMANDER BEN - over-raced middle stages.
SANTANNA MACH - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
WOODLEA EXPLORER - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts. Driver R Close advised he sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
Race 10   GOLD BAND TAXIS PACE
ARIZONAWILDCAT - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
WILLISON - held up early in the run home.
KIKORANGI BLUE - broke at the start losing ground.
RUBY'S A DELIGHT - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
JUST HOLLA - weakened leaving the final bend.
MANDALAY BAY - driver J Stormont defended a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations alleging he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Stormont the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and suspended Mr Stormont's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 5 October 2023 (3 days).
DANCE TILL DAWN - weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised he was disappointed with the effort and could provide no explanation. The connections advised they would have blood tests taken from the mare in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
