Trainer R Todd advised Stewards on 10 September that blood tests taken from HERB revealed the gelding to have a high white cell count which has been treated with the horse continuing its current preparation.

Race 1   SWEET LOU AT WOODLANDS TENDER CLOSES 19 OCT MOBILE PACE
ZAHRA - paced roughly in the early stages losing ground.
WORKS FOR ME - Driver S Reid admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Reid's Driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 28 September 2023 (2 days).
THE ARTFUL GAMBLER - held up over the concluding stages.
HAROLD HANOVER - raced wide early before improving to the parked position near the 1500m. Driver T Cameron advised the gelding had cast the near fore shoe during the running.
DESERT DAWN - over-raced middle stages. Held up early final turn.
PARK LANE - lay out at various stages and in particular rounding the final turn. When questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver T Herlihy advised that he was disappointed with the effort but expected that the gelding would derive benefit from the run.
AARDIE'S MIRACLE - back from position at the start. Weakened from the 800m. When questioned regarding the performance Driver M McKendry advised that the gelding had not travelled well at any stage of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on this runner's barrier manners and racing performance.
Race 2   WOODLANDS STUD STANDOUT SEVEN MOBILE PACE
SUPERTRAMP - raced greenly near the 1100m when leading. Lay outwards throughout the run home.
IRRESISTIBLE - over-raced in the early and middle stages.
FRISCO BAY - broke in the early stages checking a trailing runner losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the colt's barrier manners. Over-raced middle stages.
LENNY LINCOLN - Trainer R Green was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the gelding to race without the notified removable deafeners which were fitted prior to the start.
CHRISTOPHER DANCE - checked by a breaking runner in the early stages and broke losing ground.
AYE AYE CAPTAIN - crowded by an inside runner in the run home.
JAHI - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first turn losing ground. Hung outwards in the run home crowding an outside runner. Authorisation of this runner's 3rd placing was withheld until Driver M McKendry confirmed that AYE AYE CAPTAIN's chances of beating JAHI had not been affected.
Race 3   WHAT THE HILL NI JUVENILE TROTTING CHAMPIONSHIP MOB TROT
MEGABAND - broke in the early stages losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
DREAMS PAT - shifted outwards near the 700m when Driver D Butcher accidently dropped his right rein for a short distance. Broke near the 250m losing all chance. Authorisation of 4th place was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that this runner had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break. Connections advised that the gelding had cast the near fore shoe during the running.
THE MOONSTONE - pre-raced warmed.
Race 4   NZ INSTITUTE OF BUILDING CHARITABLE EDUCATION TRUST MOB PACE
WATCH YOUR BACK - over-raced middle stages.
HUGOTASTIC - lay outwards and shifted up the track despite Driver Z Butcher's efforts early in the run home. Paced roughly passing the 100m.
FRANKIE MAJOR - held up throughout the run home.
RIVERBOY BEN - over-raced when racing wide on the track in the early stages and was restrained to the rear of the field. Over-raced middle stages.
THE BRAVE - raced fiercely middle stages.
Race 5   CONSTRUCTION SOFTWARE HANDICAP TROT
EMILY BAY - delayed the start after becoming fractious when called into line. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
ARADNE - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner in the early stages losing all chance.
BERTHA'S PRIDE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
MAZEPPA - broke racing into the first turn checking a trailing runner and lost all chance.
WISH FOR FISH - broke near the 1000m after striking the sulky of FIVE O'CLOCK GERRY losing ground. Junior Driver T Hanara (assisted by Z Butcher) was questioned regarding this incident and after taking into account that there was a marginal easing of the pace in the running line, Stewards took the matter no further other than to remind Miss Hanara of her obligations.
KAWARAU LIL - broke at the start losing ground. Checked and broke rounding the first turn losing all chance.
EASY COUNT - weakened final turn.
CEEPEEKAY - broke briefly at the start.
MELSADELE - hampered by a breaking runner after 100m and broke losing all chance.
AARDIE'S PEAK - broke near the 350m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners.

VENTURESOME ARDEN - lay outwards leaving the final turn.
LOU BABY - lay outwards throughout the run home when attempting to utilise the passing lane causing Driver A Poutama some difficulty.
LINCOLN RIVER - raced keenly middle stages.
MIKI NOEL - held up early in the run home.
BET WEST - over-raced middle stages. Paced roughly final turn.
LADY OF THE LIGHT - lay outwards throughout the run home. When questioned regarding the performance Driver M Ranger advised that the mare had peaked on her run in what was her first race back from a lengthy spell.
Race 7   BETTABUILT HANDICAP TROT
ASTERIA LAVRA - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards final turn striking track markers. Trotted roughly throughout the run home.
CASTANA - late scratching at 8.38am on veterinary advice.
ALDEBARAN FLAME - raced wide early. Lay inwards final turn striking several track markers.
LOVE ON LINE - broke at the start losing ground.
TROT TO CHEVRON - lay inwards near the 2300m striking track markers.
LAURIES LEGACY - broke near the 2300m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
LIAISON - lay out on rounding the final turn and throughout the home straight.
SPRINGBANK MASON - trotted roughly through the early stages losing considerable ground.
Race 8   NEVELE R '50 YEARS OF SUCCESS' (HEAT 3) MOBILE PACE
IDEAL DELIGHT - broke when leading rounding the first turn hampering trailing runners. Over-raced middle stages. Broke again near the 300m checking trailing runners and lost its chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the off fore. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
PENNY BLACK - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first turn. Contacted a track marker rounding the final turn. Driver S Abernethy was issued with a warning.
ACUSHLA MACHREE - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first turn. Checked by a breaking runner near the 300m losing its chance.
WICKED WANDA - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first turn. Again hampered by a breaking runner near the 300m.
MANTRA BLUE - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first turn. Again hampered by a breaking runner near the 300m.

VORONOV - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having not raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Broke racing into the first turn losing considerable ground.
ITAINTNECESSARILYSO - broke at the start losing ground inconveniencing an outside runner. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Held up early in the run home. Authorisation of 4th place was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that this runner had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break.
KIMKAR DASH - inconvenienced by a breaking runner at the start.
ALANA - weakened leaving the final turn. Junior Driver N Delany (assisted by M White) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250. Mr Delany was also warned for using his whip when out of contention.
