Race 1   MACCA LODGE PACE
SPRED SHEET - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
GOORAMBAT ART - held up until late in the run home. Driver G O'Reilly advised he was unable to activate the removable deafeners despite his efforts. Trainer J Wheeler was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after he failed to affix the removable deafeners so as not to malfunction.
ROCKENROLL GRADUATE - driver J Hay was warned for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
GOOD TIME BETTY - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Raced wide with cover from the 1100m.
HEAVEN - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up early in the run home.
MONTOYA - raced wide without cover from the 1100m after being unable to improve to the parked position near the 900m despite the efforts of driver D van Til.
SEARING LIGHT - broke at the start losing ground.
WHOSDREAMINGNOW - when questioned regarding the performance trainer T Yesberg advised the gelding had been unsuited to racing in the parked position throughout with the effort taking its toll.
TAKE THE DEAL - when questioned driver B Butt advised he was satisfied with the performance and given it was the gelding's first race day start he expected it would derive considerable benefit from the race.
Race 2   MT HUTT TROTTING CLUB MOBILE TROT
MODE - weakened leaving the final bend.
IMPERIAL COMMAND - raced three wide in the early stages until reaching the parked position near the 1200m. Unsuccessfully challenged for the lead through the middle stages. Weakened early in the run home. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards questioned driver A Clark regarding the tactics he adopted through the middle stages when challenging KRACKA LOOKA for the lead before weakening. After considering his explanation, Stewards issued a charge under Rule 869(3)(g) alleging he drove in a manner capable of diminishing his chances of winning when applying significant pressure to KRACKA LOOKA which was leading through the middle stages. Mr Clark admitted the charge and after viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Clark, the Adjudicative Committee suspended his driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 24 September 2023 (6 days).
Race 3   A TEAM CONSTRUCTION (FILLIES & MARES) MOBILE PACE
BONNEY ELOISE - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
SEACRACKA - broke in the score up losing all chance. Authorisation of placings were withheld until Stewards had reviewed replays of the incident and spoke to driver K Cox who confirmed the filly had broken free of interference and did not sustain any broken gear. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 4   STRAPPERS SYNDICATE MOBILE PACE
ALMIGHTY CLEVER - held up early in the run home.
THE WELSH DRAGON - driver J Thomas was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.
HIT THE BEACH - raced wide from the 700m.
GATECRASHER - raced wide early. Held up final bend and until late in the run home. Driver J Dunn reported a sulky tyre deflated during the running.
MYSTAR BLUE JEAN - raced wide early.
DEAN JAMES - held up early in the run home.
WAVEWATCHER - raced wide from the 700m.
Race 5   GEOFF STONE MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
WRIGGLES RUFUS - weakened passing the 600m hampering a trailing runner. When questioned regarding the performance driver W House was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
KING ARTHUR - crowded by an outside runner after 200m and had to be steadied.
TIDE AND TIME - driver K Cox was issued with a warning for shifting inwards and crowding an inside runner after 200m. Ms Cox was also issued with a warning for using her whip over the concluding stages when clearly winning.
ELITE STYX - hampered by a weakening runner near the 600m. Held up early in the run home.
Race 6   LES & HIS BOYZ TROT
MAVIS JONES - broke passing the 600m losing all chance. Driver B Hope reported the boring pole had come adrift causing the filly to break. Co-trainers G & N Hope were issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix this gear so as not to come adrift.
MAXWELL EDISON - when questioned regarding the performance driver R Close advised he was disappointed with the effort and could provide no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer J Howe advised he will have blood tests taken from the gelding in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
EUROSTYLE - co-trainers D & A Jones were issued with a warning for presenting the mare to race without the notified blinds which were fitted prior to the start. Driver K Butt advised the removable deafeners were not activated due to having the field covered.
BRIAN BEATT - weakened rounding the final bend.
TAKE NOTICE - co-trainers L & J Smith were issued with a warning for being late to notify the mare would race without a pacifier on.
Race 7   MERV & GARY WILLS MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
ARCHAIC LUSTRE - hampered near the 250m when an inside runner shifted ground outwards.
HES SANTAS EXCUSE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Cox. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide from the 1200m.
SIR MONTY - out of position at the start. Driver C Thornley was issued with a warning.
OPAWA LOUIE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver C DeFilippi. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Mr DeFilippi was warned for the manner he drove near the 250m when shifting ground outwards hampering ARCHAIC LUSTRE. Held up throughout the run home.
SWEET TREAT - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
NED KELLY - over-raced early when racing wide on the track. Continued to race wide through the middle stages. Hung outwards throughout the run home and shifted up the track despite the efforts of driver R Close.
Race 8   HOTEL ASHBURTON TURF BAR HANDLE CLUB HANDICAP TROT
MM SUNSHINE - trotted roughly final bend hampering a trailing runner. Broke passing the 150m losing all chance.
PAIGE - trotted roughly in the run home.
SINNER COOL - pre-race warmed.
SONOMA TYRON - hampered final bend.
SASSY STAR - broke at the start losing ground.
STREAMING LIVE - when questioned regarding the performance of the mare driver R Close advised he was disappointed with the effort and could provide no explanation. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
SANDFLY BAY - held up early in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Tomlinson advised the filly had got too far back after starting from a 20m handicap however was still slightly disappointed with the effort.

JUSTIN FUN - held up early in the run home.
NOT OVER - broke at the start losing ground. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.

TOSSIES SON - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
DANCE WITH THE BOSS - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced early and middle stages. Driver B Williamson advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to the gelding pacing roughly.

BAILEYS PITCH - shied when leading near the 1200m and shifted up the track. Again shied when leading approaching the 1000m and abruptly shifted ground outwards despite the efforts of driver J Dunn checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards had spoken with trainer M House and driver W House (DOCTOR TIM) placed 5th, who both declined the opportunity to protest after suffering interference near the 1000m. Accordingly all placings were authorised.
HOPE FOR LOVE - hampered near the 1000m.
SANTANNA MACH - trainer M House was issued a warning for failing to have the correct colours available. Hampered near the 1000m.
IFYOUSAYSO - broke at the start losing ground hampering outside runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Checked and broke near the 1000m after being forced wider on the track when an inside runner shifted ground outwards abruptly losing all chance.
DOCTOR TIM - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Checked near the 1000m and forced wider on the track when an inside runner shifted ground outwards abruptly.
BOLOGNA - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Checked and broke briefly near the 1000m after being forced wider on the track when an inside runner shifted ground outwards abruptly.
