Race 1   MARSHALL TRANSPORT / COMBINED SERVICES CLUB TWIZEL PACE
TOSSIES SON - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Checked by a breaking runner passing the 1850m and broke briefly in consequence. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when breaking shortly after the start.
ROCKENROLL GRADUATE - held up rounding the final bend.
LOUIS - broke briefly at the start losing ground. Raced greenly then broke again passing the 1850m checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Lay in over the concluding stages crowding inside runners. Driver L O'Reilly reported the gelding had been striking the wheel discs during the running. Placed on the Unruly for both Standing and Mobile starts at the request of trainer M Smolenski.
ULTIMATE COUNSEL - crowded by an outside runner over the concluding stages.
JONTY'S BROTHER - crowded by an outside runner over the concluding stages.
MR TEDDY - crowded by an outside runner over the concluding stages.
SPRED SHEET - lay in on the bend near the 1000m. Driver G Shand was warned for using his whip free of the rein near the 200m.
BETS ON - weakened from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 2   BLUFF PROTEINS MOBILE PACE
MIGHTYFLYIN SUPASTAR - trainer R Todd reported the gelding has had its hocks treated since last racing.
A GUINNESS ROCK - paced roughly when weakening rounding the final bend.
GERRY'S BOY - paced roughly and broke in the score up losing considerable ground and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
WAVEWATCHER - raced wider on the track near the 1100m when GLENLEDI ELVIS shifted out. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule at this stage of the race however, after viewing the replays it was established that driver L O'Reilly (GLENLEDI ELVIS), had commenced his outward movement prior to WAVEWATCHER reaching his sulky wheel. Accordingly, no further action was deemed necessary.
CLASSIC MISSION - held up rounding the final bend.
Race 3   WAITAKI AUTO ELECTRICS / WHISPERING PINES TROT
KENNY'S CHARM - shied when leading passing the 1500m and raced inside track markers.
OUR EVIE RAE - trainer D Simpson reported the filly has had its hocks treated since last racing. Slow to begin. Broke passing the 1700m losing considerable ground. Trotted roughly final bend.
BOULT TROUBLE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
CRETE PETITE - slow to begin. Trotted roughly near the 1000m, losing ground. Weakened final bend. Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination of the mare. The race day veterinarian viewed the Stewards footage of the race and following his examination confirmed CRETE PETITE to be showing signs of lameness in the hind limbs. Connections were advised the mare is stood down pending a veterinary clearance following a full lameness veterinary examination prior to resuming.
MARKTHEWARRIOR - lay in throughout the run home despite the efforts of driver M Williamson who reported he did not release the removable deafeners as a consequence.
MOONDANCE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
GARY PLAYER - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
Race 4   RURAL TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE
CLASSIE LINC - over-raced when leading through the middle stages.
DANCE WITH THE BOSS - trainer M Purvis reported the gelding has had a coffin joint treated since last racing. Paced roughly throughout the run home with driver M Williamson reporting he did not release the removable deafeners as a consequence, also adding the gelding had been knocking its knees during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 5   SBT MARKETING 2009 LTD HANDICAP PACE
NOT OVER - weakened final bend.
SHARDS FURY - placed in restricted room by outside runners near the 1150m and paced roughly for a couple of strides. Weakened final bend.
GRONKOWSKI - trainer D O'Connell reported the gelding has been treated for a virus since last racing. Tangled away. Weakened final bend. Driver D O'Connell was warned to exercise greater care for the manner he shifted ground near the 1150m when placing an inside runner in restricted room.
FRANCO MESSI - broke briefly at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MO'UNGA - driver R Close reported that only one hopple shortener had activated.
WINNYZBACK - broke at the start, settled briefly, then broke again shortly after losing ground. Lay in throughout the run home.
SNOW ROBYN - driver M Hurrell was warned to exercise greater care for the manner he shifted ground near the 1150m.
Race 6   FILL RURAL / COLLIE HILLS STUD JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
SUPERSTAR LEGEND - checked and hampered leaving the final bend.
BOLOGNA - lay in rounding the final bend. Shifted ground outwards abruptly leaving the final bend when driver B Hope released the removable deafeners, checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
Race 7   MAKING IT HAPPEN: G K FYFE PAINTING TROT
CALL THIS FUN - broke shortly before the 150m.
QUIK BARBIE - broke passing the 200m hampering a trailing runner.
MC SQUARED - briefly hampered by a breaking runner near the 200m.
JASPRIT TROUBLE - trainer M Heenan reported the gelding has had its hocks treated since last racing.
GENTLE MAC - delayed the start when shifting to the outside of the track preventing another runner from taking up its rightful position. Slow to begin. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.

HARRISON - broke at the start losing ground.
BLUTO - fractious and facing the wrong way as the tapes were released resulting in a false start being declared. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.

LIFE OF ART - broke briefly in the early stages.
