ROCK N DIAMONDS - contacted track markers when placed in restricted room by an outside runner near the 900m. Weakened from the 700m hampering a trailing runner. Stewards questioned driver J Morrison regarding the tactics he adopted near the 700m when shifting ground outwards and weakening shortly after. After hearing from Mr Morrison and trainer K Barron, Stewards adjourned the matter for further consideration. Mr Barron further advised the gelding had struck its knee and shin boots during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with Mr Barron in the coming days. | |

SALVO - junior driver J Harrington admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly leaving the final bend when allowing his runner to strike the sulky wheel of RACEY KRUSA which punctured. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250. When questioned regarding the improved performance Mr Harrington advised the mare had appreciated the return to mobile racing and a drop in class from recent starts. | |
